Okay, everybody who doesn't get that, here it is. Spyro is mostly on his adventures with Sparx, and Ignitus was the one who acted like a father to him. As for Cynder, she was controlled by the Dark Master and tried to run away, so Spyro didn't went on much adventures with her, so in Dawn of the Dragon, he feels alone because neither Sparx or Ignitus are with him.

He turns black in the second game because it's "The Eternal Night." That means that on that night, the evil escapes for a short while. The evil took over of Spyro. As you may have seen before the battle against Malefor, he says that Spyro freed him because he was in that purple laser. & now he can turn to blackness when hes angry because, you know, its evil so it reacts to negative feelings & thoughts.

Apparently the 360 fury meter works nothing like the wii; a 180 hit combo would have maxed out the meter and then some. Yeah, poison hits are a massive gamebreaker when you're pulling out fury mode every second battle at the very least.
