@shunsuk1fans yeah man. i got to give credit to kyshenko and sato (best fight of his career IMO) but masato was a rock. 09 finals was dreadful and i feel this year is going to be the same. too many new names without any character. i guess thats the way it goes.
@redblazerpea Say, if you're dissappointed with how the K1 has been doing lately, there's plenty of other organisations to go around with, mostly in Europe. It's Showtime has just had a great tournament for instance. I try to add whatever videos from such tournaments I come across to my favourites, but you can also look up the fight card on their site and search for the matches.
@Blahb27 true. i enjoyed the showtime events with ghita vs gerges. excellent. oktagon is soso. but since k1 is the #1 kick boxing event, they are disappointing their fans. cheers for the update homie.
@redblazerpea For the most part the K1 is, yes. But they're apparently at the edge of going bankrupt, and they have had to cancel events (the event in May in the Amsterdam Arena for instance).
I mean, it's almost April, and they haven't even scheduled any events yet. By this last year, there had been three events already, and another three in the next month. Maybe they'll have the Koshien tournament again (kids are cheap), but I really don't see this year becoming a great kickboxing year.
i really like how the tall guy adapted. he figured out that the straight knee will be his best weapon against the shorter fighter who is almost entirely just punching (and superior puncher at that).
what makes you think he can touch packman in boxing? packman is the most effective boxer in history, if masato were that good, he'd be boxing (much more money).
@amadisdemitrius no way. only the best at stand up go to k1. masato is a kickboxer. if pac went to k1 he would get his skinny shins snapped. a chapion in k1 is far superior to a boxing champ.
@redblazerpea I wouldn't say 'far superior'. A boxer can deliver way better punches (as he specializes in that). A K1 fighter also trains kicks. Kicks have more range and thus have a big advantage vs a boxer. But if a boxer manages to get close, then he has the advantage of the fight. But a good fighter can keep his distance. So if the K1 fighter is good, the boxer won't stand a chance. It's a matter of styles. However if the boxer trains to block Kicks, then he stands a really good chance!
