Guessing in Sudoku

when i fist saw this video i thought, wow this person really doesn't know anything about sudoku, but at the end im like, oh wait... u know things like x-wings and swordfishes... gg

:40 1 is a lucky guess? If you use the  "cant be" scanning method, 1 row 1 column 1 is the first case you find.

This skips over the fact that when all other techniques fail there comes a point where you have to guess.One video describes a method where you treat a box as one of two possibles then continue until you fail in which case it was the other number, or complete the puzzle in which case you were right.Isn't that guessing?

Guessing is bad. Anyway, I would also advice to always double-check. I often do stupid mistakes, like putting a number in a block that there is already the number, ruining my entire game, basing in a wrong number. =\
