Still the most beautiful car in the world you can soon drive on the road and feel good about not buying foreign oil. I would never trust an all electric vehicle at this stage in development.
Fisker is going about this the wrong way. The hybrid car with more electric than gas will never amount to anything.
Either normal hybrid or fully electric will prevail. The cost of batteries will come down a lot, meaning all the effort to add a gas generator in Karma will become useless. There is a lot of design wars to get a brand new car made and Karma will not be able to compete.
My money is on Nissan Leaf and then on Tesla. Fisker is just "panach"
The car has a 22kwh pack and utilizes about 18kwh. The average price of electricity in the US is .11/khw. So you can drive the first 50 miles on under $2.00 in electricity which is way better than a Prius. However the potential buyers of this car aren't concerned with saving a few dollars every time they take it for a spin. They are either generally concerned with helping to reduce oil usage & pollution from burning it or just want to give the appearance that they are..
Soooo....mean71cud...electricity isnt free, and the gas-engine-generator and battery-driven motor will run in conjunction? That must make it a Hybrid!?! Are you Really the only one just realizing this?
people have forgotten that electricity isnt free.. they say cars get so many miles on a tank but technically its the tank aaand battery that do it so its not necessarily going 300miles on a tank its a tank and battery.. now pick your jaws up off the floor
@KarlowBOI That's what I was thinking! The front looks like a Z8 and the profile looks like a Mazda RX8.
It's a nice car, but if I had the money, I still wouldn't buy one. If you have that much to spend on a car, you're probably not too worried about your gas costs.
Basically a hybrid Maserati Gran Turismo.
