  • I was told my chest pain was from getting my ribs broken when I got jumped. They were drunk, I wasn't. If my ribs had been broken I would've known it. I've broken and even CRUSHED bones before.. There is no pain like it and a broken rib is distinct, I know this because I've broken 2 before in another fight one on one. I crushed veins in my leg in an ATV accident. It feels like a full grown body builder just shoved his fist in my right lung just under the sternum and started squeezing.

  • Over the last few months Ive been having tightness in my chest & shortness of breath, I went to the ER after I felt extreme shortness of breath and dizziness, where they took my blood and found nothing wrong with me.. Can a PE be found by a Blood Test??

  • @TheMarioRich, Normally Low BP, Low Spo2% stats and a blood sample called a D-Dimmer Yes

  • @MelnDyl2010 And ECG changes can also show PE

  • Just got out of the hosp after a saddle pulmonary embolus a few days ago. . . It was extremely painful while the blood thinners were breaking up the huge clot, but thankfully it was treated and I survived.

  • @nitenurse77 Blood thinners themselves don't break up and dissolve clots. It thins the blood to prevent new clots. Your body makes it's own clot dissolving chemicals which eventually dissolve the clot. But it takes months for clots to dissolve. My cardiologist told me so. So you likely still have a clot. I have pulmonary emboli in my right pulmonary artery and in the branches of my right lung.

  • @xdunlapx . . . Thanks for the clarification. . . I stand corrected. What I probably should have said was as pieces broke from the embolus, by whatever physiologic process, they traveled into smaller vessels causing intense pain. Thankfully, I had a recent chest CT scan for a different reason and the clot has apparently dissolved.

  • Good video I had a PE going back at Late April this year in my left lung I had trouble breathing and got sent to hospital than later discharged throughout the next week i was in and out of hospital with alot of pain until they did a deep scan and found the clot. I was treated on Warfarrin and had no trouble since only weird thing was I never had deep vein thrombosis the doctors can't figure it out so the blamed Estregon in the pill. Very scary thing to go through.

  • @FFgod1000 The BC pill can actually cause it too. BC is NOT natural. It does cause cardiovascular damage if unchecked, depending on what medication you are one. Generally, what I've found as a rule of thumb is that if it isn't natural it hurts your body. The mother of my daughter is a nurse and I learned all kinds of nasty stuff about drugs you think are safe. I actually went to lunch with a pharmaceutical rep trying to push her drugs and the shit she said was practically demonic.

  • I'm 16, i have 3 clots, two in the base of both my lungs, and one in my arm.

I also have cystic fibrosis. I'm currently waiting for a specialist to look at my CT scans and tell me what is going to happen. I could not be more scared.

I just keep going over in my head how i could die.

I've seen many comments on the internet about how those people survived, but i've not seen any from people with underlying illnesses.

    It's truly a terrifying thing.

  • @OverlordTinarius Hope you do all right.

  • @OverlordTinarius I HOPE U GET BETTER SOON! IT MUST BE SOO SCARY. DON'T WORRY, IT'LL PASS ;) STAY STRONG!

  • @OverlordTinarius You can overcome this! Stay strong and always believe that you can do it!

  • I developed a PE after a serious calf muscle tear at the gym. I've been training at the gym for over 25-years and never had a problem until that tear. I had no idea that my torn muscle and swelling calf could develop into such a serious medical problem. I'm now 7-months into the Coumadin treatment and my breathing has improved dramatically but I still have several months to go before I will be back to my pre-PE health. My lesson-always see a doctor after a serious muscle tear in the leg!

  • I had two bouts of PE's about seven years ago and have been off meds for about five years.I actually had the shortness of breath for three days prior to going into the ER the first time. I just started having chest pains recently, but without health ins (the lowest premium I could find was abour $500 a month) I cannot go to the dr. I hope it's not another PE, not short of breath so I guess I am safe for now.

  • @RBroz100 - WalMart has many prescriptions for $4/month. Maybe coumadin is one of them -?

  • I survived a PE about a year ago. I am doing well now. I really thought I was going to die in the ambulance as my blood went from 227 / 156 back to normal about three times during my 20 minute ride. I faded in and out and it was pretty cool as my body provided a new experience. I was 37. I am about to turn 38 in August and I take my medicine everyday and probably will have to take it for the rest of my life as well.

  • I have had a PE recently in my lung(s), I got it from having a bad case of Sciatica at Christmas & taking to my bed instead of moving around - I got the pain in the leg and one Saturday woke up to find I had terrible chest pains, didn't want to call out emergency doctor on so I put up with the pain in and took paracetamol until Mon morning & GP admitted to hospital & a CT Scan & Chest X-ray showed up the clots, they gave me 2 forms of antibiotic. now on Warfarine for the next nine months.

  • i have Chrohns And i Got That Pulminary embolism i Almost Died i Couldnt Even Walk i Couldnt Breath. im Like wtf? xD But im Ok Now i Almost died 3 times.

  • Goddamnit, where are the videos of people that have survived one of these like I have? I know the next one will kill me for sure, but what the fuck....there has to be other survival stories out there somewhere...if anyone knows of any or websites to send me please comment on my page thanks...could use some advice.

  • I became really paranoid about PE's after I saw a woman die from one when I was working in a hospital in NY. It totally traumatized me. I took her pressure, pulse, respirations which were normal, I went to lunch with the charge nurse (we were gone for 1/2 hour), came back and she was coding!

  • She went from 2L of O2 to 10L of O2 in those 30 minutes we were gone. Nobody asked why. She was begging the nurses not to let her die, and they kept telling her she wasn't going to. The doc was insensitive when he called her time of death, and the blood curdling scream I heard from her daughter afterward was something I will never forget.

  • I had to take her to the hospital morgue by myself. She was in for pnuemonia and was getting better when it happened. I later found out she was taking PhenPhen.

  • Hospital stay can be so indifferent. How can they take jobs when they dont care about people.

  • I was just recently diagnosed with APS which increases my chances of developing one of those deadly clots!

  • I survived one. 2 years ago. I was 27. No risk factors. Was running 3 miles a day. Eating healthy. I was rushed to the ER due to shortness of breath and chest pains...they found clots in both of my lungs. My ER doc was great...but it was petrifying-I could nto breath so was given Oxygen, blood thinners etc. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and they found out I have a hereditary clotting disorder. I take warfarin for life and have my blood checked monthly. I am now 29 and in grad school!

  • I am prescribed the same thing, does the drug give you side effects?

  • thanks:)

  • Cool animation. Makes in really clear to understand what is going on.
