Our problem is the growingly elaborate techniques of criminals. A century ago this started with the socialism and fascism scams, and has since morphed into the governmental poverty industry, environmentalism, and seditionist movements that seek to reimpose authoritarian governance in the name of "social justice" (such as in Venezuela).

Unless we can find a way to stop such people, their rapacious greed and violence will undo centuries of progress, and bring forth a new Dark Age for humanity.

By virtue of being productive and useful, the socialist claims that such a person owes their efforts to the collective - which invariably is represented by socialists. I consider Nazism to be a relatively "honest" form of socialism.

Then you should know that in Nazi Germany the people were not "slaves" as you call them. Germany went from a total disaster to the worlds greatest military power in the matter of years. They usually have more to say than regular people in politics.

Socialists cannot ultimately win. The people they rob will either fight back or run off. If they are jailed, the wealth that the socialists depend on stealing stops. The best they can hope for is a society like that in the PRC, where they can rent their slave labor out to corporations.

Unionized government employees work even less ahrd, and demand raises and better benefits for their non-work. Most of their real effort is spent on preventing competition from forming.

we CAN stop manmade Global Warming. If we want. Of course, the biggest problem in this is political. Climate models are still evoluting too, so people dont completely trust them. In the future we will probably even be able to terraform other planets.

I think overpopulation doesn't exclude overconsumption. On the contrary: The more people there are, the more consumption there will be. Public welfare decreases population, that's true. But is also increases the footprint per individual. With the current world population, an entire world living like "the West" is impossible.

It also is a political issue with a society that encourages consuming in every aspect of life - all the time! It's true that with overpopulation comes more consuming but it's weird to focus on a poor african with 5-10 kids instead of a single American who has a larger ecological footprint than the mentioned family in Africa.

1. You try to inhabit as many people on the planet as possible, with a footprint per individual, as small an possible.

2. You try to work towards a population-level that doesn't  raise any concerns regarding the footprints.

It's a choice between a small life for many, or an comfortable life for less people.
