Guys it's free to play. You have to buy it first. It's an MMOFPS, they say it is free to play unlike a lot of MMOs you have to pay for. Did you honestly believe that they would spend money making a game just to give it away for free? Anyways this game doesn't look like it will fare to well and it will be labeled a "Halo ripoff".
No, you don't have to pay for it. Its free to play and there is a lot of things that you can buy in the in-game store, like tf2 where you can buy hats.
You don't have to pay for it, nor do you have to pay for in-game content if you don;t want to, it is not like TF2 in terms of micro transactions, but rather, Tribes: Ascend, where you CAN pay for in game currency if you WANT to, OR you can invest time into the game and unlock all those things anyway. So technically speaking, if you invest enough time into the game, you can unlock everything free of charge.

Let me clue you in, these developers get it. They're going to hook you in with a MMO FPS thats connected to EVE online, they're going to receive your micro transactions and this will turn into a WOW type experience on consoles.

The only reason PS3 is being used for this game is the fact that its network is good. The people who made this game PREFER the Xbox 360 over it, but Xbox live can't support the access they are trying to make inbetween PC and Console. As a result, it would cost less to make it for the PS3, even if they didn't want to. Im going to buy the PS3 just so I can play this game, but I wish i didn't have too.
@MrCheezzMan It's network is good? They constantly get hacked. Xbox Network is pretty much superior. But that doesn't matter. Do you really think buying the PS3 is worth it? @guuso123 What i meant to say is that the network is more open. The reason they chose it is becuase it can't support the crossover between PC and Console. It would only allow 16 players on at a time, which goes entirely AGAINST the fact that they want a whole planet fighting at once. I want to buy a PS3 becuase of this game, but they only cost $190, so It is not that much of a loss.
I played eve online for 2 years...was the most boring thing I have ever played in my life. But I liked something about it. Prolly the cool bad ass looking ships and it was differen't from all those character lookin ones.

@topografer This game is directly connected to an MMO called EVE Online. What happens is players(or corporations, not sure which) hire these "mercenaries" to attack and attempt to take control of individual planets. Other than that, im unsure of how it works.
@KrazyKommieKiller I don't really care if games rip off eachother... as long as they do it right. Like, look at God Of War. It's a rip off of Devil May Cry, but hell.. they brought new idea's to the plate that DMC4 then borrowed in return. FPS's do this kind of stuff all the time.

@pedromightfly The dust Dev's, being an international company, really look like they are putting their heart and soul into this game. Halo, however large that game is, has become mainstream and a little too commercial over the years, dampening the gameplay and story-line arch.

i think that is the main aspect of the game ... but, judging by the stopped time section, the EVE players can use their money (ISK) to supply their mercs with weapons and supplies, effectively giving them a better chance of conquering the planet
@148word true, the only shooters i'm interested in are battlefield, killzone, call of duty (although they need to change the formula now, its turning into madden), and crysis. i'll keep an eye out for this game, but after hearing how it has move support, i think i'll pass. first person shooters with the move are a gimmick.
@cyberwaffles I hope the move support doesn't make ps3 controls more clunky. Anyway, my dream fps is swg mixed with fps. Add constantly evolving graphics and gameplay and you have an unbeatable game that never gets old :D

@dabears1326 do some research on the game before you say it's going to fail, the amazing concept of this game isn't the actual gameplay, its the concept that pc players will fight over territories by using ps3 players to do the actual fighting. The pc players get something similar to starcraft and the ps3 players get another fps. If this works this game will be revolutionary
@dabears1326 Dust 514 is nothing like Halo or COD. Watch more videos before making judgments. Dust will be the most revolutionary game to come to the FPS world. This could mean more interesting games in the future. I Watched a guy play Halo who use to win tons of money in Halo competitions. His whole strategy was based on having really fast aim and that was it. Dust 514 you have a HP stats to deal with and you have to earn and buy your own weapons. Its far more in-depth than Halo

@anonymous133711 80% of gameplay is mining if your bad at the game, if you have good skills, guts and alot of money you can do anything you want from w-space exploration and hacking for huge amounts of credits or become a bounty hunter taking down the game biggest pirates or evan be one your self, mining is only one of that paths and eve said itself thats is the least profitable and cheapest to do.

ive been playing BF3 on pc in the ESL leauge.
and we were No.1 for some period of time in EU.
i have great ambitions with this game.
ive already worked out a deal with a 32Year old man who have been playing EVE for several years.
i showed him some gaming montages, and he agreed to hook me up with a Playstation.
for this purpose. so im only gonna work for him.

Both Sci-fi, both FPS, both exclusive titles on their respective platforms.
My opinion is, Halo 4 will win in the majority, mostly due to how deep and expanded the universe i.

@pedromightfly The dust Dev's, being an international company, really look like they are putting their heart and soul into this game. Halo, however large that game is, has become mainstream and a little too commercial over the years, dampening the gameplay and story-line arch.
I'll never play Dust, I don't own a PS3, and the next-gen Consoles are around the corner. I wish it luck, I wish the game, and the dev's a good future.

i think that is the main aspect of the game ... but, judging by the stopped time section, the EVE players can use their money (ISK) to supply their mercs with weapons and supplies, effectively giving them a better chance of conquering the planet

@148word true, the only shooters i'm interested in are battlefield, killzone, call of duty (although they need to change the formula now, its turning into madden), and crysis. i'll keep an eye out for this game, but after hearing how it has move support, i think i'll pass. first person shooters with the move are a gimmick.

@HeroOfYourMisery you have no idea what you are talking about. First off Halo is one of the most strategic FPS's out there. Your strategy is not "to aim" because there are no iron sights in Halo. You clearly have never played Halo or else you would see it takes multiple shots to the head for a kill and is not a point and shoot game like COD. And since when is earning money to buy weapons revolutionary? Thats in like every single FPS created in the last few years. (COD: Black Ops)

@dabears1326 do some research on the game before you say it's going to fail, the amazing concept of this game isn't the actual gameplay, its the concept that pc players will fight over territories by using ps3 players to do the actual fighting. The pc players get something similar to starcraft and the ps3 players get another fps. If this works this game will be revolutionary

@dabears1326 Dust 514 is nothing like Halo or COD. Watch more videos before making judgments. Dust will be the most revolutionary game to come to the FPS world. This could mean more interesting games in the future. I Watched a guy play Halo who use to win tons of money in Halo competitions. His whole strategy was based on having really fast aim and that was it. Dust 514 you have a HP stats to deal with and you have to earn and buy your own weapons. Its far more in-depth than Halo
