  • God bless you Master Hudson, I learned more from you in a year than in 10 years combined TaeKwondo, Karate and Judo.

  • Christos, you're threatening and factually incorrect comment towards me have been removed 4 some reason. I am merely commenting on how myself and a few other members of the club were treated back in the day. I'm not puting down the club in any way. Its over 10yrs on and i dow live in notts any more. And no you dont know who I am. Our class was a very small one and there certainly wasn't an old man training with us. It there was, he would have got a kicking because we didnt tke any prisoners.

  • I dont think you do know who I am. I was there years ago. I appreciate the stuff i learnt there but wasnt happy with the way we were treated. I dont know who you are but you sound like you're accusing me of something i;m not doing. And this did not happen recently it happened many moons ago. How do you know what the gym gave me by the way? I have studied lots of martial arts over the last 25yrs so please dont lecture me about the definition of matial arts.

  • Hey there seems to be a lot of comment deleting on this vid. Surely you should publish the bad and the good comments.

  • Does he still ask people to pay for a grading every time he wants to buy a new sword? Thats what drove me and my friends away back in the day.

  • @Gordonzo17 more likely i know wot u mean

  • @Gordonzo17 :Grading is about achievement and Richard has to take time out to do that, he gives it everything. Come train and you will find out, you won't regret it!

  • @Gordonzo17 what drove you away is probably the fact that you can't train at a high level. It's ok most people can't and training at kickfit is cheaper than most martial arts gym but you get to learn the real stuff here.

  • @Christos567 No thats not what dorve us away i'm afraid. We were there up to 4 times a week 'training at a high level'. What drove us away was the fact that he was more interested in buying swords and stuff on the internet than taking the classes. We ended up taking the classes for him whilst he was on Ebay. And the thing about the gradings was that they were at such random times for the whole group. It was obvious that when the bank account was low, we had to do another grading.

  • @Gordonzo17 I think I know who you are. I also think you should be a little more respectful with what was given to you over the years rather than criticise someone for trying to run a business. Certainly, if it was me and I guess you know who I am I would have confronted the situation face-to-face rather than a public forum like this and I would have made a decision based on the many years I have trained rather than something that happened recently i.e. take everything into account!

  • ha ha...standing on oneleg makeing funny noises. great video, see you soon

  • My first name is Jason. Remember having some monstrous sessions at Kick Fit. I distinctly remember Master Hudson always being able to link all the techniques that he taught to real time street situations. He is the sort of person that will rapidly discover where you are capable of going physically and he would take you there. Master Hudson pushes you to you your limits and at the end of the lesson as you stand there bathed in sweat you think yeah that was awesome.

  • I'll weigh in and say the 2 and a half years I spent at Kickfit made me stronger, fitter and much more confident than I could have imagined (being the weedy bloke I am).

Richard is a top bloke and myself and most of the class would have (and often did) gone to hell and back for him (so many stairs... 73?).

I heartly recommend Kickfit to anyone in Nottingham who wants to learn how to really defend themselves.

Wish I hadn't left, but life gets in the way of things :(

  • I had the pleasure of training at Kickfit before moving away for work reason (Army) and Master Richard Hudson is a great martial artist and also a gentleman. He is certainly capable of inflicting pain on people who would most certainly have prompted him to do so. But he would rather have a chat and a laugh. Thinking of joining the club, don't think about it just get down there and Richard will take your life to another level. Proud to say I know him.

  • I was going to ask if you were who I thought you were but a) not a good idea on the net and b) I can't remember the name of the person who I think you are!! lol

Did you buy Escrima armor and hardly get a chance to use it?

  • ok actually now i really wanna take up those eskrima lessons lol XD

  • just a suggestion, on ur website u shud change ur photos on the kung fu page, cuz its the same as the jeet kune do page, and some others, and to me it just makes u look like ur teachin just the one styles instead of separate ones and that ur just scamming ppl for money. And b4 any one bitches at me, im not accusin that he does that, i just wanna help out, i love JKD philosophy and to have one in nottingham is good

  • amazin

  • great job on the video, I really loved watching the eskrima part.

  • Great job on the video guys!

Im back at the gym training now after a 6 month break dont ask why!

Why dont you come back and do a second video and Ill get together with some of the champions and well put on a show for you bring your camera though :)

  • Top Man. He is a real champion and a Brilliant trainer.

  • This clip claims to be doing JKD at the 1.05 mark, actually there is no real JKD in this clip at all, and if there was, why then is there several other styles also being taught at this academy. Bruce Lee was against styles and the teaching of organised traditional systems such as Silat:)

Looks like Master Hudson has been hoodwinked.

  • no he wasn't what do you know. anyway he'd kick ur arse

  • Yep, it didnt show JKD at that point but stop being a little tart. Richard Hudson is a multiple world champion and a certified master and is certified to teach JKD so whats your point?

  • LMAO.

  • and the reason why it didnt contain the JKD we practice? Because the videographer not what we know or train in different classes but of course you know that!

  • ROTFLMAO!

  • first im not a student of his, cus im very skeptical on who teaches me what (im asian, i have pride lol, plus ive been to so many money grubbin places that i can tell whats abit fishy), but i just want to make a fair point - Dan inosanto teaches about 10 other styles at his academy, includin eskrima and silat, and he was 1 of the 3 ppl that bruce lee allowed to teach his system. lets just hope hes for real, cuz my m8 is one of his instructors

  • @muukuken06 3 times world champion, certified in JKD by original Bruce lee students and grandmasters in Eskrima. Richard is for real. We are lucky to have someone of this level in Notingham

  • check me out at .52
