  • Although Spartacus and Sparta sound the same and it seems that they would be related in some way, that is not the case. Spartacus was a slave that was captured and taken from his home by the Romans to be a gladiator. They took him to a place where they trained the gladiators, and this is where the slave revolt took place. All the slaves or gladiators overtook the training camp and then wen ton a rampage and stole and killed everything the found. They defeated many Romans but fell to defeat.

  • @mrxp2 And HE was a thracian...

  • Reminds me of the 300 soundtrack.

    Notice something?

  • Wonder if there is anywhere to get the picture of that knight in the beginning.

  • Pic from 0:29 - Neverwinter Nights? :))

  • Spartacus.

    He wanted freedom.

    Rome's answer:

Littering the main road through entire Italy with the crucified corpses of the slaves that dared oppose them.

Rome lived and thrived on raw power and brutality.

Ironically, they were brought down by Christianity and human-compassion :P

  • @SinerAthin most ironically because the ideals of Christianity of that time were exploited by the Medieval Church to justify burning its perceived enemies at stake.

  • I'm Spartacus.

  • great vid, can you tell me wheres the first pic from?

  • Spartacus or Hector of Troy? WHO WINS?

  • 0:10 EPIC ARMOR i wanti :3 0:34 shes dead... 1:28 no comment

  • wow kids you guys need to learn more at school. Spartacus was a slave who lead the other slaves to fight Rome. He is not a spartan.

  • @GoatAirJordanFTW they may have meant that the song evoked the notion of the Spartan civilization... though I may be giving them too much credit.

  • where do you find these images

  • @AvaterPrinceZuko you still dont...i am saying what if the persians had conquered Greece, just think about it.All europe would be PERSIAN,maybe draw us back a century or 2 not on only in the way we live but in the science we developped(because most of the basics were shown by the greeks). And here comes and idiot saying this stupid phrase in result of mocking them to get some thumbs up.Gratz you officially have no brain

  • @masterofThardus

    oh I very much Agree!

it was one of the reasons why old greece fell to the persian army as all the unfighting between the city kings left them without support.

If old greece had stood together the story of the 300 spartans would never have happened..

  • spartacus and sparta dont have anyting common........

  • @radijas14 Correct.

And did you know there were actually 1,300 spartans?

  • @EnderGhost119 The other 1000 were not spatans. 700 were thespians and I think the others were thebans.

  • @bluetablelover Hoplites... I should have mentioned that sorry lol, my mother teaches the classics and what not...

  • @radijas14

    only the appearance in name

  • @radijas14 Yes but this song and Spartans DO have something in common, EPICNESS.

  • @radijas14 they dont but the word does both have sparta in them =]

  • @radijas14

Well if you really wanna dig deep then I guess somebody could argue that they both fought the Romans kinda. I get what you're saying though, everybody acting retarded and quoting the movie 300 thinking Spartacus was a Spartan leader or something.

  • @radijas14 Hes right actually, watch the film Spartacus, the only thing incommon is that he fights vs a vast and big empire called ROME!

  • @radijas14 Not at all....

  • @radijas14 What about the arrangement of s, p, a, r, t and a in their name in that order?

  • @jimjames59 are you troling?

  • @radijas14 they where born to fight

  • Rangers hold BurgerTown from the soviets

  • I am Spartacus!

  • 1:30 BEHEAD THESE PETALS!

  • Spartacus is a Thracian not Spartan ..... learn some history

  • Spartans! TONIGHT WE DINE AT BURGER KING!

  • @CliffDiverBOA there is nothing funny about spartans, because the West make a porn out of them with the 300 doesnt mean we must mock them, they are the reason you were what you are wearing and not some eastern cloth, their valour as their pride was unmatched.Mocking them is just wrong.

  • @sgtpeterarbit Damn, have a little comedy in your life :(

  • @CliffDiverBOA you dont get it do you....

  • @CliffDiverBOA LOL.....that cracked me up

  • @CliffDiverBOA dude thats insanely to funny rofl

  • @CliffDiverBOA TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL! *scene shows them eating in dennys*

  • 0:33 I remember seeing this picture years ago, back when I was a kid, my mom used to collect pictures from that artist.

  • The whole vid was awesome! music and pictures went in perfectly, great job!

  • Many of thoose pictures..... Where do you got them from?

  • <3 l!ke it l!ke it !!!!!

  • I am Sparticus!

  • wasn't Sparta radical and over-concerned with power and perfection, and this sounds like an organised empire which didn't fall because of its way of life and ideology of perfection, I would have named this "glory of the empire"

  • @Werthian

The song's name refers to Spartacus, not Sparta. He was the leader of the slave rebellion within the Roman Republic. I'm surprised you haven't heard about him considering there are movies and a pretty recent TV series related to his story.

  • @tshunter1010 and spartacus was the name over 99/100 of the people of sparta used as a name of justification of there laws of perfect society, hense let me say, read upon your facts, i know what i must and also i know spartacus was a rebellion leader, i study history *sighs* my point still stands of perfection imperfection .

  • Comment removed

  • @Werthian @Werthian why are you trying to take the title and twist it. Sparta was a city state like rome was during the republic. Spartacus live 109 BC to 71 BC. Sparta was Disestablished 195 BC so you can't even put the two together. I love how people say " i study what ever topic" and to throw a *sigh* in. The title says Spartacus and any history major or a person that just loves history knows exactly what it is

  • @defdakilla41

    /agree

  • @defdakilla41 yes and spartacus is related to the city, state or whatever you want to call the place, and i dont care if people put sigh's, its a democratic lead world, cant stop views, or the history, most democratic countries wont stop both stories.

  • @defdakilla41 didnt sparticus create a gladiator army or something and try to take rome

  • @TheNewDaySucks He created a rebellion amongst the slaves in the city of Capua. He escaped from imprisonment along with an army of slaves and drove back the armies of Rome to try and escape. He reached the top of the Italian peninsula and decided to Purge Rome so he turned back and started to sack cities until Roman Reinforcements arrived and outnumbered the runaway slaves. Spartacus was slain fighting for his freedom. The name comes from sparta but the story doesn't involve Greece at all.

  • always did love that pic of aribeth fighting there hehe
