Thank you for this video.....can't wiat to see the video in which he plays the piano! He is just amazing!!! I am waiting for a video of "While the City Sleeps". I love that song, but then again, I love all of his songs! Thanks again!
I knew the first time I saw Chris .. that he had to be as good as anyone has ever been. I'm just glad that the world is catching on to what I already knew.
@SRVMOE thanks .. our quality went up when SONY VEGAS Pro went to 32 bit renders. it was a 4 camera shoot .. all fairly inexpensive consumer models. an old SONY, 2 Canon HV30, and an older Canon. our experience is the 32 bit rendering makes all the difference. Can make an inexpensive camera shot look good.
@crobacon, you might "hate" this keyboard player, but Carlos Santana doesn't. Ever hear of Santana? He's kind of a big deal. Anyways, Carlos hired him to play in his band, and has been touring the world for a couple years now. D.K. Matthews has worked with all the greats, including Etta, as he was her musical director. And D.K. was a long, long time member of another band you haven't yet heard of, Tower of Power. Don't need him? Hmmm. OK, that's certainly a unique take on things. Wow.
@timbojonnie "hate" implies taste so his list of credits are irrelevant to me. I am sure Mr. Matthews doesn't need you to defend him. I've seen Chris a thousand times and he is always better without this particular keyboard player. That is an observation. Chris is a far superior musician in all regards, Chris knows what NOT to play. In this particular setting Mr. Mathews tends to overplay, A LOT!! I am sure if he approached his playing in the same manner as the gigs you speak of, he'd be jobless
Great recording of one of the preeminent blues performers today. Tonight I spoke closesly with Chris and his drummer Tyler at a house party they played in Portland
@Threske Pretty sure this pushed the boundaries of what a living room concert can be - if my phone's camera was higher fidelity, I'd be hosting the performances I recorded. Thanks for posting this vid!
Thanx for sharing this with the rest of us guitar players/blues lovers. It happens rarely these days that I get so inspired by watching a blues guitarist. A true masterclass!
@jayfarmer because so few people know about him over in the US. I live in California and i only know of him between guitarist. He doesn't really leave San Jose.
thanks for givin us the opportunity to see your band in HD as in Europe we would like to see u in real live. I'm a guit player in France and I admire so much chris for his playin and singing you guys are really talented this is the real thing and the real deepest Blues I ever heard.
I went to college with Chris back in the late 70's and early 80's and he blew everyone's minds back then.

There's a nice pay lake not far from where he was staying. But he never asked, Dick.
We had them rooms for 2 days...I think they just wanted to chill from the road.
