  • Just watched the lot in one sitting. Awesome! Ending reminded me a bit of Raiders of the Lost Ark. It leaves me wondering how many great technologies are really on a shelf in some warehouse.

  • matrix. lol, oh yes, classic eighties cheese. and no ill uminati symbolic suggestion in that program eh? thanks for uploading. took me right back to my youth. i now feel as ancient as the kids of today tell me i am. and absolutely knackered from being gripped from the beginning.

  • Made it to the end, tough this series!

  • I made it to the end...whoo! - i wonder why none of the 'child' stars made anything else, there's little known about their work after this, anyhew... series one & two was good, the third was mediocre...never-mind eh, i hope Mr Spielberg pulls his finger out and does something with the rights, he's been sitting on them for three years now.

  • ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC THANKS SOOOOO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS ON. loved it 27 years ago LOL and it's just as good now. Wish they'd made more series of it tho, not enough, need more !!!! xoxo

  • "The pyramid is in a place called Jarred J J Jarred"

    =D

  • I like how each season finish with a kid being kidnapped.

  • i just spent 3 nights watching all the chockys hahaha thanks :)

  • @MooBoo no effin way how the ...how did you find that?!?!?! brilliant thank!s a lot

  • citroen visa :)

  • If you liked this check out "Children of the Stones", "The Changes", "Tripods", "Tomorrow People" , "Sapphire & Steel", "Children of Green Knowe" and "Children of the Dog Star" - all UK and New Zeland based children and young adult tv series from the 70/80s with a sci-fi theme. A lot of these series were highly subversive in their own way & compared to the mindless consumerist crap that passes for kids tv today (low budgets and occasional bad acting aside) are well worth watching (alll on YT)

  • I think the general consensus is that the third Chocky series was poor in comparison to the first two. Overall, I would agree with this, some of the acting is atrocious but I think that says more about the producers and director (why cast an English actor to play an American, its not like there were no american kids here in the UK mid eighties!) than it does about the actors. The actual themes were great though - telepathy, free energy, antigravity, sinister clandestine defence group etc...

  • does anybody remember a show around the same time as chocky. all i can remember clearly was a scene involving children holding these glowing stones that they mustn't drop, in this scene one child does and its a disaster. so all in i think the show was about some powerful stones that children had to protect and something wanted them???

  • @Mollyrules1 Yeah, it was a NZ production from 1981. I can't remember the name, but it involved a blue and red stone and the kid dropped the red one (I think) which set off a major volcanic eruption. I've been searching for this series, too.

  • @Mollyrules1 I found it! It was called Under the Mountain, in which Auckland was done over! The url doesn't work here unfortunately, but the title should work.

  • Agree with huliojohnson, but also because the story was pretty lame too - as a funny comment on one of the earlier episodes pointed out - security? no, why don't we just trust everyone around us and leave things lying around instead

  • that black kid ruined this show for me

  • @Huliojohnson

Absolutely, apart from the other obvious problems with the third series, the American child character (not sure he even was American) was like a rusty nail on a chalk board every time he opened his mouth - AWFUL

  • @Huliojohnson I know i kept having to turn the brightness up.

  • @Huliojohnson

i hear a few of the crews wallets also regret his participation

  • wow so i just watched all three series of chocky, this too was a hazy memory for me that i'm glad you have posted. Now i'm off to write to the bbc to make chocky 4, s'bout time! :D Many thanks :D

  • Outstep33! You are an absolute HERO!! i would never have found that in a billion years due to not knowing the title! (and believe me, ive been searching for years already!) I honestly cant thank you enough for this...this has really made a great christmas being able to see that show again (and this may sound wierd...but seeing it and filling in the blanks in my mind has triggered memories of other shows id forgotton!)I wish there was some way i could thank you!!

  • I'm asking here cause its one of those things thats keeping me awake at night not knowing, lol. Is this a scene from one of the Chocky seasons? (Ive searched the web and viewed various chocky youtube vids, but dont seem to see anything like it) am i even warm?? LOL, any help or suggestions as to what this show may be would be appreciated!

    (sorry for spamming...continued again....)

  • (Only other things i can do to offer assistance on timescale is...im 24 now (born 1984) so if it was chocky, it'd most likely be a repeat...and im not sure if im just merging seperate memories now...but its quite possible that shortly after this particular episode i saw...the Krypton Factor aired (obviously some channel swap may have been involved) hope someone can put me out of my misery here! LOL

  • Can someone help me please? I have an image in my mind (you know, the kind you have maybe one or two random split seconds of images in your head from something you remember from childhood?) there is a TV show i remember seeing...someone suggested it MAY be Chocky... the only images i have in my mid are;

    (continued in next post...)

  • (...continued)

a girl....in some sort of field.. pulling...some object from the ground...i cant recall...a metal dish maybe? she was pulling it from the mud.

    the only other image in my mind of this was;

the same girl, looking from a (her?) bedroom window? The object she pulled from the ground is attached to a building....its open now...possibly star shaped now?(image is hazy, sorry) and i *think* is beaming light into the sky?

    (continued again....)

  • Thanks. I've just had a 9 hour marathon down memory lane, watching all 3 chocky series'. The first series is the best, full of mystery, but the last series is not as good as I remember it from years ago. However kids TV today STILL doesn't match up to this quality.

    Absolutely magical!!!

  • @Y0UTUBERCUL0SIS me too ive watched the whole lot hahaha im all chockied out i liked all of them but 1st the best

  • Lovely addition to "Chocky". Not better than Wyndham, with some narrative makeup and lots of motives from his other works, but nice and sympathic. And lovely athmosphere. By the way, Annabel´s dad kept reminding me domestic version of Axl Rose :) We´ll be witing for Chocky´s Children. Is there any good film made from "The Chrysalids"?

  • A request for havesomespecks:

Do you happen to have 'Chocky's Children'? If so, could you upload that as well? You've already done a swell job, brining back childhood memories. 'Chocky's Children' would be the icing on the cake.
