lmfao man the cheesiness never ceases.

  • Dammit, this episode got me. I balled my eyes out like i personally knew him lol D': My Dad came in and asked me what's wrong and all i could do was point at my laptop hahah *tear*

  • Damn nice episode!

  • they look like they died in the 50s and the sister and mom are in the present day...the 90s... ?????

  • so he never wondered why no one talked to him and that he wasn't receiving a paycheck? the boss was a dick for stating he didn't need to hire a new maintenance guy you know since her brother died, i mean he said it to her like he was happy!

  • So the one good movie made by M. Night Salami was stolen from a Nickelodeon show. Amazing.

  • @SteinUndStahl666 this explains all the holes in the movie

  • I love how this little AYAOTD episode inspired the movie The Sixth Sense.

  • This is episode is so good.

  • I'm blown away. That episode was DEEP.

  • I don't consider myself a sap by any means but this made me cry then, and still makes me cry now. Quite possibly the best episode of Are you Afraid of the Dark made in my opinion.

  • "We can go on living as a family and everything will be ok." What? How can that be when he's dead and no one else can see him? He needs to move on!

  • this was so sad :'( I couldnt imagine if i were the sister T_T

  • "No wonder I'm so bummed all the time." That's fucking hilariously written! Someone out there wrote or has to know the person whom wrote this episode! C'mon, YouTubers!

  • Awww this made me cry. :'( But isn't this supposed to be SCARY?! :P

  • holy crap this was one of the better episodes they did....no scares, thrills...just straight up tragedy and pure human emotion. and good god donna was hot.

  • this makes me cry so much. It makes me think about my older sister and how I would feel if she was like Johnny...I ASKED TO BE SCARED NOT DEPRESSED THANKS ALOT AYAOTD!....btw..luv it XD

  • They should have taken this story and made a full-length movie.

  • @AgApE010 someone did...aka Sixth Sense

  • @CelloChick90 i think he was being sarcastic (hopefully) :/

  • What the hell is this? This show is supposed to scare you, not make you cry!

  • 2:43 REJECTION SUCKS lol

  • damn donna is fine as hell ... who wouldn't wanna go back to that ... eternally boning ... lmfao ...johnny kinda flamer looking though

  • Goddamn this one really tugs at my heart strings ughh. I'm a man, I don't cry. I'm a man, I don't cry. :P

  • This was my favorite episode so classic. Im happy someone uploaded it

  • I seen the name don coofman

  • this made me cry lol =(

  • M. Night says this story inspired The Sixth Sense.

  • i would never leave my sister for some girl

  • @MaaNonu123 I would only cuz It's Donna bro!! Donna!

  • In the story how long ago did Johnny and donna die ? 3 to 5 years before ?

  • wow.. this had too be without a doubt the saddest and most touching story of the show.

  • ohmygosh. i'm crying.

  • This was a very intersting and very sad story! I was moved and it made me cry cause the main character was a ghost and didn't even know it! The scene where they cry and take off in tha mist was very emotional cause he had 2 say goodbye 2 his lil. sister. I also learned that in life and death true love will always prevail! Thank U 4 postin this episode. Best episode of series!

  • Nice 80's touch with the Kenny G style music

during the final scene. Seriously what a sad

episode poor Johnny and his sister. I have

to admit the actress who played his sister

reminds me of America Ferrar (?) who played in tv's Ugly Betty.

  • Sad

  • Comment removed

  • what the hell are you doing??? leave that bitch and get back with your sister T_T

  • Holy mother, that was weird. Gave me the chills.

  • Gives me the chills when they walked off into the ambist.

  • I miss the old and GOOD nickelodeon. I hate this new shit. Fanboy and Chum Chum? Really? I mean, who comes up with this crap? Bring back Rugrats and Cow and Chicken and Rocko's Modern Life and stuff like that. They also need to bring back the old Cartoon Network...Johnny Test makes me want to shoot the people who made it.

  • x'( This is so sad.

  • That girl is a really good actress!

  • Old school Nick is EPIC and still is

  • @TheDunnJin yea i didnt realize that til you brought it up but today the child actors suck and the plots have no real meaning. so glad i was born yrs b4 my lil brother. he thinks the disney n nick today is good. poor kid is deprived n doesn't know it.

  • So, I'm guessing I'm not the only one who balled my eyes out?

  • @cassyykillszombies No way, i cry everytime!

  • this is def one of my fav episodes of ayaotd, its spooky ,but still a beautiful story. i got a little teary eyed at the end, only a 90's nick show could make me feel that many emotions at once lol

  • They better play this on the 90's are all that during october!

  • The Sixth Sense! M. Night Shyamalan you suck.

  • How can that girl be Johnny's sister if he is a ghost? That doesn't make sense...

  • @SuperGirl1984 well he was alive at one point you dont stop being related to people when they die

  • @TheDunnJin Yeah! Too bad Nick went straight downhill!

  • Wasn't Johnny the middle brother on Disney Ready or Not?

  • @jenbunny1984 Wait a minute, yeah! I think so, he played 'Dom' in that show. It didn't dawn on me that, that was the same actor, until you mentioned it. kewl ;)

  • Wasn't Ji

  • Ooooh!!!

  • This ep made me cry when they said goodbye

  • Thumbs up if you find yourself coming to watch this episode at least once each year of your life.

  • @Adrenaline7 i come back to watch it every other month lol.. i miss these episodes

  • How we miss you and your good quality shows. What hacks came up with what kids watch today?

  • It's funny how many people kinda share my thought of missing Are You Afraid of the Dark, and growing up in the 90's. It was kickass. This was probably my favorite episode. I had forgotten the episode name and until now hadn't seen the show since the mid 90's, but I always remembered Donna Maitland and her wearing that letter jacket. What a babe. Oddly enough, years later I was in a serious relationship with a girl who bore a striking resemblence to Donna. prob my first tv crush. Oh Nick at Nite

  • Then...if Donna was dead...then who was that chick that he tried to talk to in the bowling place and she didn't hear him?

  • @RocksInTheToilet that was sharol whatever her lastt name

  • @RocksInTheToilet That wasn't Donna, that was just a girl that looked like Donna. Her name was Sheryl

  • how did he cash his cheques then?

  • Wow. I don't remember seeing this one when it first aired. Must have been one of the episodes I missed. Other than the fact that you knew before half way through he was a ghost, this has to be one of the best AYAOTD episodes. Should have gotten an Emmy.

  • They both should have stayed if he couldn't. :S

  • Why would she want that fucking ring? It basically because of that ring that her brother is dead, jesus christ.

  • don't forget the sequel "The tale of the lawsuit against M.Night"

  • the one and only episode i remember crying at the end.

  • @chaoticXmisfit i cry everytime i see it... Have you ever heard the song Last Kiss? This is like that song only a car was stauled in the road and not a train and the guy lived but it just reminds me of the song in places. you have to listen to it to get what im sayin.

  • So if they died 40 years ago, wouldn't the mother be an old fart, and Erica be a middle aged lady?

  • @meowcat121 This is possible, but then again, maybe since he;s a ghost, he just sees them as he did before he died? Maybe? Haha.

  • My favorite episode.

  • the best one i almost cried at the end

  • Probably the best acting out the whole series. Especially the sister. Her performance comes off very honest and sincere.

  • Saddest ayaotd ever.

  • New favorite

  • i want a kiss from him :( lol

  • He puts out the fire and the outdoor scene is still well lit? How?.......Ghost Magic.

  • Wow, so he didn't even know that that was his girlfriend. You are the worst boyfriend ever if you can't even remember who your girlfriend is. It would be messed up if they had to go to Hell; just saying.

  • how does that fit? this makes no sense... is his sister a ghost to? if so wouldn't she be really old?

  • This is the first AYAOTD I saw while babysitting in the 90's.

  • Am i the only one crying because he was a ghost and had to leave his sister?!;(((

  • Love conquers all . Even in death . :) .

  • @KaydeyRai He gives credit to this and says this was his inspiration. Look on IMDb if you don't believe me.

  • Omg that was so sad ( tears ) :(

  • i knew it! that he was dead..her mom didn't answer him and the girl in the canteen.sad story.

  • Why didn't he realized he was dead earlier?

  • @Maliyani7

Because he couldn't remember what happened.

  • M. Night Shyamalan ripped this off!!

  • Why doesn't Nickelodeon make good shows like this, All That, or pretty much all of their shows from the 90's anymore? I mean some of their old shows had parodies of real life events and were more gritty than a "made for pre-teen girl appeal" boy band shows. I'm sure if they did that instead of random nonsense that only appealed to ten year old's, like what iCarly turned into.

  • This is like an episode of "Ghost Whisperer", only not shitty.

  • Being 16 and boning a gorgeous girl for the rest of eternity? Sign me up.

  • @hoganandrewt

    LOL! xDD

  • What the hell? This is "Are you Afraid of the Dark?" not "Are you Depressed in the Dark?"

  • @MusicAngel05

    Lol, nice comment. :)

  • @MusicAngel05 LMFAO

  • @MusicAngel05 lol i know thiis story is depressing

  • 1 person is heartless =P

  • @TwilightSylvestris

Well, at least it's only 1 person out of 172. :D

  • Oh man, I saw this episode as a kid years ago, and I remember tearing up, and now at 22 it still gets me. Dang

  • Donna by Ritchie Valens would've been perfect in this

  • The music from 2:32 on was pretty intense and classic porno like lol

  • - this is the first & only episode that i started to tear up on.. lol its funny because its sooo cheezy!

  • This was a sad story

  • wait so johnny died in the car accident 2...?!?

wow that girl gave me a bonerrrr

  • Such a classic and awesomely written show, CHILDRENS shows nonetheless.

    Man I miss the 90s.

  • this is my fave episode by far!

  • Very good episode. Reminded me of "The sixth sense".

  • @Artonelicofanatic2 haha same

  • @Artonelicofanatic2 That's because m. night shayamalham got that idea from that episode.

  • @Artonelicofanatic2 This episode inspired M. Night Shyamalan to make it.

  • this was a good story.....i see y the mom "ignored" him and "no repair guy"........

  • The sequel episode, Johnny and Donna Go To Hell.

  • This and "The Tale Of The Prom Queen" are two of my favorite AYAOTD episodes - they're actually very similar, and the acting is also good in both.

  • Great episode... Woyld have been even better without the porno music

  • @fushadragon LOL @ porno music... I does sound like it huh? Like back in the 80's kind hahaha... I never even noticed that till i saw your comment, good one! XD

  • good ep i know the girl didnt write it but weneva she tell stories the writer gives her story about people dyin in car accidents n loosing their high school love..lol

  • @ZinsLPS

Both Johnny and Donna are dead.

  • "Good one, Sam"

  • bros before hoes..

  • This was the saddest episode :( Such a great story.

  • i admit, i cried at the end. like a baby. so sweet.

  • usually the actors on this show were really bad, but this was probably one of the better acted out episodes actually

  • crying this is a good episode, reminds me of my loved one

  • seriously not a bad eternity on either end

  • You know a show is good when it holds up more than a decade after it first premiered. Fantastic episode! M. Night WISHES he could have done something this magical.

  • @TerenceTheTerrible What does M. Night Shyamelanilanian have to do with this ? lol

  • @ThaOneChrisJONES This episode inspired the movie "The Sixth Sense"

  • @omakase6 Oh ok, I wasn't aware of that.

  • @ThaOneChrisJONES Apparently, this episode in particular was the inspiration behind The Sixth Sense.

  • @TerenceTheTerrible I was not aware of that, interesting.

  • wow..tear jerker much?

  • Saddest....episode....ever!

  • its so sad

  • i find this confusing? :S some one explain this please?♥ -.-

  • @TheAngelFlynn yea same happened to me but i think i got it semi figured out maybe he was only alive cause of the ring but how could he be her brother idk someone help me 2

  • @kerna7x666 it is her brother she also said "moms got alot on her mind" the mother is still heart broken he didnt know he was dead he came back as a ghost as if nothing happened he knew his sister and mother but his sister was the only one who could see him

  • @kerna7x666 i think lol thats what i came up with....?

  • @TheAngelFlynn ok donna and john r bf and gf donna went back 2 get her ring ( this is wen they were both alive) and john pushed her out of the way they both died johns ghost came back from the accident as if nothing had happned because 4 a very weird reason he didnt remeber the accident ericka was the only one that cud c his ghost then suddenly all of his memory came back and he remembered everything SIGH u owe me 4 typing this much -____-

  • @TheAngelFlynn o and they got ran over by a train and donna went back got ran over john tried 2 push he dided also sorry 4got that detail :P

  • Watching this episode makes me realize one thing: M. Night Shyamalan was a complete fucking hack.

  • the most beautiful episode ever. :)

  • I'm 20 and this still puts a frog in my throat. :(

  • @orchestrated719 I think yo mean lump in your throat, not frog.

  • @MissMom4evr I think *you* mean lump in your throat, not frog.

  • This and the one about the bloody pool monster are the only ones that I remember after all these years. Great episodes.

  • definitely one of the best episodes of are you afraid of the dark :) one of my favs

  • How many assholes were in this episode that could have helped Johnny The Brain-damaged Ghost but just refused to?

Also, remember the boss in the beginning? bragging that Johnny was dead? In front of his sister?

  • jonny is fit. and im not gunna lie, i cried at the end lol

  • probly gonna get insults but this episode made me cry cause i feel i found my dream girl though she broke my heart she too haunts me in my dreams whenever i think bout her and more i also feel when im dead is when i will finally be happy cause all i still feel is pain n loneliness but like this episode all i want is to be with her again last this is partly like the shinning n carnival of souls

  • @MrSurferlonely Hang in there man! :) Carnival of souls great movie!

  • I don't get why the girl in the bowling alley looked like Donna. What was the point of that? Was it supposed to be her sister or something?

  • This episode had the best actors! I vote it the best episode ever, its one that makes u think.. U know?

  • @dcole8910 I was thinking the exact same thing, acting was great!

  • M. NIGHT how dare you steal ideas

  • Susie Q

  • decent story but not anywhere close to the "best"... I doubt it scared anyone at all

  • o sad ending

  • wow, this is one of the best episodes i have ever seen

  • this episode will always bring back childhood memories gotta love the classics

and to those wondering he died 4 months prior that's why hi boss at the bowling rink said "4 months without incedents I don't even have to hire a NEW matienance man"

  • I've always wondered...... How do they always refill the bucket if its left there?! I know its just a tv show, but.............

  • This episode was the inspiration for 'The Sixth Sense'. Anybody else knew that?

  • I kind of remember this episode.

  • I did FAP to the porn music at the end!

  • OMG i havent watch this show in over 12 years" a tear jus came down my eye'

  • Wait..if Johnny had just died...which I'm assuming since the mom was really sad...why was the diner scene all 60's like? o.O Maybe I'm missing something?

  • @alexandraxoxoxo11 Good question. Actually, it wasn't all 60s...the waitress and the cook looked like they were out of "Happy Days," but the young couple looked like they just stepped out of a Chicago speakesy circa 1927 and wanted to do the Charleston. I think it was just a blatant attempt to indicate that they were ghosts. Kinda clumsy, but whatever, it did the trick.

  • @mst3KGf Oh....maybe it was their attempt at making them seem like ghosts! Hahaha...that makes sense.

  • Wow, the acting in this episode was really good!

  • @beydv I agree, the girl that played Ericka was probably the best actress the show had imo

  • "I'm really going to miss you, Sarah. You know, you're my favorite sister."

    "I'm your only sister."

I will admit, that does bring a tear to one's eye.

But he can't stay, even if he wants to. One of the standards of this type of ghost story is that once the person realizes he's dead and
