8 and a half kicks from Yngwie in this clip. Not bad! The almost-a-kick is the knee he does at 2:35. Including the guitar-ass-rub this in total makes a pretty good video for a great song...
@wilkyx I think he does like Eddie. Yngwie played guitar on a VH tribute album called "Little Guitars". (Bob Kulick produced this.) Yngwie played guitar for 'Light Up The Sky'.
Catchy tune. Joe Lynn Turner singing great. Too bad Yngwie was overplaying and stomping all over the song with his indulgent ascending and descending obnoxious scales instead of trying to come up with any sort of melody. What an ass.
Joe and Don were both great singers. Joe's voice still sounds like this. Don's is a bit raspy, don't know if he'll ever get it back but he can't hit the notes he used to. It's not about who is better, just that they were both 80's rock/metal singers with great voices. That's all that really matters in the end.
@sturniboy i think that Don dokken is MUCH better than him...I believe that at every band that Turner played..he gave a pop music style..look malnsteen..and also Rainbow..Rainbow's era with him SUCKS...
No bands today can match the technical ability and raw talent of 80's metal bands. There was feeling and a message in every song. Today, there is none of that. It's all autotune and not actual talent. Yngwie personifies this. The 80's were awesome in so many ways, but music is the best one. Long live the 80's!!
@Sidewinder9877 music today sucks shit..its all about making money to the record companies, and you dont need talent to be popular anymore, which is a shame.
@Matlike1 Sadly that is what mainstream music has digressed into. There was none of that shit in the 80's. If you were a signed artist, you had the proper talent to be there and it was evident in their live performances. They sounded just like their recordings, not because it was playing on a tape over instruments that were not plugged in, but because they can actually play and sing that good.
It may be cheesy hair band 80s song but it has one of the best Singers of all time and best guitarists that changed guitar playing for ever ........And his solo here is incredible.
this song kicks ass and i do not give a rats ass what people say the 80's was the best era period and todays music sounds like rap thats because it sounds like crap.I was just curious what every happen to this guy is he still playing because i have heard nothing about him in yes
Sure he was a good guitarist BUT, his attitude was shit he thought he was the greatist guitarist ever. Sorry but when your attitude sucks like his it over shadows your talent thats why he never became more famous.
In the end, there's a lot of wankery and posing taking place here, and the song was deliberately commercial and pretty damn cheesy as well. Contrary to the moron above - the 80's were definitely not the greatest era of humankind. Fuck man, what could you possibly know about humankind in order to state such a ridiculous claim? That's fucking sad. The 80's were pretty much the worst decade of humankind; lots of cocaine and whores, at the expense of thoughtful musicianship.
@Cr1mSiR, dude, get a grip. When you say "have you heard music these days," you're referring to the loads of bullshit in the popular media, right? Well, I agree. But I'm not listening to that shit. I'm listening to a ton of truly independent music that finds listeners from the ground-up. Even Yngwie was on a major label, and the truth is that most major-label material sucks ass. You're got to take your head out of your 80's obsessed ass and open your ears to some great contemporary music. Try it
What makes Yngwie so awesome is he has it all -- precision playing & the 'wow' factor - Great player, Great showman! This song just brings the 80's back and all the hot chicks & clubs. Shame we can't go back in time...though I wouldn't trade my little daughter today for anything in the world, memories of going out with all the babes back then, well I really thought that was the way it would always be...but then one starts a family and all the cool-craziness just starts fading...we grow up!
what the FUCK whhopgnash lol. to me i listen to music mainly not just the lyrics on most songs. And the way this song is DELIVERED is perfect. before you talk crap as a band, you should start out with unknown bands like you before you bash RF and Malmsteen. Mainly cause your music sounds like jumbled buttsex.
@InfantryScout7 if you go through some of the oldies songs from the 50s, you'll see that a lot of the hit songs were basically giberish...whop bop a lou bop, etc etc...does it make sense? no...but you know what...it makes ppl get up and dance. Music is a universal language, and everyone no matter where they're from can get something out of music. Music doesnt have to be a freakin poetry contest *sigh*
This is bashedly unashamed,,,buffoon what is the word Im looking for here...just embarassing awful video. VERY SELFISH and SELF SERVING Its a shame because I really like the chorus but this was just plain excessive ...these guys act like pansies here. The song was good enough to carry itself without all of the lame drama...come on the girl is touching Yngvie during his solo?? Since when do this many females attend testosteroine laden concerts with music aimed at males?
Happy Birthday Yngwie J. Malmsteen born ...Lars Johann Yngwie Lannerback on June 30,1963. Keep On Rocking Neo-Classical King.... I am a Female Fan of Yngwie's and I Love Love Love You.
I prefered Yngwie's pop side, like this one... more so than the neoclassical heavy stuff. Guess he wasnt as hip to it cuz it wasnt as guitar heavy. Had he stuck to this tho, I feel he woulda reached a larger audience. In any case, he's a living legend like Van Halen...
Yes, I love this song, too. It was the first one of Y.M that I heard. It was one of the songs that made me a fan of the rock music. And Joe Lynn Turner really has got an unique voice that I LOVE!!! Awesome!!!
I don't think I have ever heard this one either! It sounds pretty good tho. Stumped me once again didn't you?haha Thanks for sharing it with me! Keep rock'n on!
