It doesn't matter how much she won by, but if you check out their racing records, Zenyatta's are much better.

Rachel is my Fav, I have met her in person, and i have watched lots of vids. you have to look at their breeding, Zenyatta has great breeding, but is much older than Rachel, Rachel has great breeding, and is very young, and has had a champion 3yr old Campaign. I love both horses. you don't have to send me bratty messages.
I think they both r amazing. People need to stop comparing them. And both mares got Eclipse Award Horse of the Year. Rachel Alexandra 2009 and Zenyatta 2010... So yea... But epic video! :)

Just as Michael was way more superior to Charles Zenyatta was also that much more superior to Rachel. Rachel won horse of the year in 2009 only due to a huge east coast bias. While both beat the boys in 2009 the fields that Rachel beat were far less talented than that of the 2009 BC Classic. The connections were right not to embarass Rachel by running her in the classic.

But I do believe Rachel did more LAST year, not saying she was a better girl between the two, but just saying in my opinion Rachel did more last year than Zenyatta. However, this year is definitely Zenyatta's year. She's always been there, and she'll probably be remembered as the better of the 2. Regardless, I do sincerely love them both and support Zenny 100%.:)
Hasn't deafeated a single G1 winning mare this year. Has not raced against a single horse rated in the top 50 this year. has never defeated a single male on real dirt. Most overhyped polytrack specialist in history. Saturday she'll struggle to finish in 5th. Reality check coming in the Classic for this hyped and hidden on SoCal polycrap queen. LOL
Zenyatta is amazing, But Rachel Alexandra sends chills down my spine everytime she wins. I just don't find that Zenyatta's style of riding gives me that dominating feeling when Rachel is 20 lengths in front. She deserved HOTY no doubt.
@queenluciaa, Rachel the Great is my favorite racehorse also. The most exciting to watch. I prefer the front runner-off the pace style. Zenyatta is a great horse, I just don't like the closer style of racing.
We really shouldn't argue about who would win. I think they are both fantastic horses, and deserve our utmost respect. We are blessed to live in an era where-not one, but TWO-wonderful mares really show 'em how it's done!
Zenyatta dominating at her age, and Rachel having a champion 3 yr old campaign, but let's not forget that other beauty in Europe named Goldikova. 3 Champion Mares, who we should ALL be so blessed to witness in our lifetime. Zenyatta is the legend, if you watch her race Mike never uses the whip, she surges forward on her own with her heart. This lovely creature is all heart and wants to win. What a wonderful time she has given us all, I truly love her.
have any of you noticed that rachel alexandra's jockey uses the stick too much but zenyatta's rarely does it. so maybe thats how zenyatta is better because she wont be as stressed and worried to go in the race because she nows her jockey will never beat her.

However, I hope Zen's owners are aware that if they let RA get away like she did in the Kentucky Oaks and the Mother Goose, Zen will never catch her. And I hope RA's owners are aware of the fact that if they lay too close to the pace, RA will never be able to hold off Zen's onslaught. The Apple Blossom is going to be a very interesting race. And maybe be as memorable as Seabiscuit's and War Admiral's matchup.
They are to meet up in the Apple Blossom, I can't say I'm too thrilled about it. I am really dreading seeing RA be defeated, or seeing Zenyatta's win streak end.

Just wanted to give my reasons Rachel got HOTY 8 starts 8 wins in 2009, Largest winning margin in Kentucky Oaks 20 lengths, Largest winning margin in Mother Goose 19 lengths where she also broke Ruffians track record :), Won three races against the boys, became the first filly in 85 years to win the Preakness and the first horse to do it from post 13, 8 wins at 7 dif tracks, 5 Grade 1 wins, 3 Track Records, Wins on Sloppy track in Haskell with Belmont Winner 6 lengths behind, won Woodward Stakes

Mike Smith easily hand rides Zen to win and she hardly breaks a sweat. Borel has to smack the heck out of Rachel and she is very sweaty at the end of the race. Zenyatta appears to enjoy racing, Rachel appears to be doing her Job. So which is the better racehorse, Zenyatta of course.

when rachel wins the breeders ladies next year and then comes back and win the classic in 2011...then we can say she is as good as Zenyatta...all the rest is BS...they can keep racing rachel with grade 2 horses like macho again and bullsbay but that is just that...grade 2/3 races...

My opinion Zenyatta has had two undefeated years and made history in the Breeder's Cup by becoming the first mare ever to defeat the boys in that race. Rachel is amazing no doubt but it's her maiden year, she hasn't accomplished as much as Zenyatta being the only horse to win the top honors for mare and colt in Breeder's Cup. Yeah Rachel beat the boys in the Preakness, Haskel, and Woodward but that has been and can be repeated. Zenyatta has accomplished something people only dream of.

RA should be HOY. she had a far better year, beating males 3 times and racing 8 times and winning all 8. everyone says zenyatta cause she is undefeated, but she only beat males 1 time. she only races 5 times this year and 4 of theme were with a weak group of fillies and her undefeated streak doesnt go for HOY, you can only look at what she did this year not in her career. and dont forget RA won the oaks and then 2 weeks later defeated the derby winner. i dont see that in zenyattas resume .
Anyone worth his or her salt can see a mile away that Zenyatta is a FAR superior animal and will go down as a legend among the greats. BUT,Rachel has had a good year in meeting the criteria for winning this popularity contest,so I would see no problem in RA getting the Eclipse.
We ALL know who the all time great is and she truly is the greatest female racehorse of all time.

I have to say that Rachel deserves HOTY, not that that takes anything from Zenyatta. Z's beaten the best male horses in the world, yes, but only on one occasion. Rachel proved herself against the boys not only in the Preakness, but also on two other occasions. She's beaten the fillies, the boys, and the older males, not to mention that she's proven that she can run from any position. Horse of the Year: Rachel. Zenyatta's oweners should have handled her with more class. ^-^ Still luv her!
Great video! Whatever all these know-it-alls are saying, these are two AWESOME fillies that we should be honored to be able to witness. These don't come around very often so we should appreciate it! We are lucky to get to watch them race. I wish they could share HOY :o)

I think HOY for 2009 is almost too close to call after yesterday, but due to Zenyatta's overly-cautious career, I would give the nod to Rachel.
Granted, Z's Classic was devastating--she looked like Secretariat--but beating up on Anabaa;s Creation & Briecat all season hardly constitutes greatness. She was literally prohibited from proving herself until the Classic.
Hippo: RA never raced in the Belmont. Almost 1/2 her starts in '09 were vs. Gr. I males. The females she did face were Gr. I stakes fillies like Gabby's Golden Gal.
If beating 2 Belmont winners, the Kentucky Derby Winner, & the winners of various other Gr. I stakes isn't enough to prove RA's HOY deservedness, you're a rookie.

Zenyatta is a solid HOY contender after yesterday's win & finishing atop the NTRA's last Top 10 poll for 2009. My only quibble is that she's had a soft, soft season, whereas Rachel won 3 times vs. Gr I males. It's almost unheard of.
That's a good argument for RA CV and RA has had an historic season for a 3yo filly. Life is Sweet's win in the Ladies Classic though makes some of Zenyatta's wins look like they weren't so soft. Check out the 2009 Milady, Garret Gomez cut Z off and forced her to check, not an easy race. The Mosses were pointing Z's whole season for the BC. Props to them for choosing the much tougher race and letting the big girl really strut her stuff.
Keybender-Life Is Sweet was 3rd vs. males in the Hollywood Gold Cup; she's an excellent filly who has gone beyond her comfort zone in that regard. It's "sweet" to see her win the Ladies' Classic, & it does improve Zenyatta in my eyes to see her beat her stablemate. I agree with your assessment, yet it still makes me annoyed that we will never see *how* good Zenyatta is.
Why wasn't she in the Pacific Classic? Why did she avoid anything but distaff races on synth? etc.
3rd vs. older males in Hollywood Gold Cup is pretty good and LIS had a rough trip. Still I agree with you that as a racing fan I would have liked the Mosses to run a more aggressive 2009 campaign. Would like to know how Z could do in a 1 1/2 turf race. People worried about the 1 1/4 BCC but big Z looked like she was just getting started at 1 1/4. Mosses and Shirreffs did what they thought was best for the horse though and I can't really argue with that.
Why didn't Rachael show up for the BC? She knew where she could find Zenyatta. How do they know Rachael wouldn't like a synthetic track? Just because Curlin didn't? The cowards were Asmussen and Jackson. Zenyatta is horse of the year.
You can not know for a fact that Zenyatta can do such a thing. It is as impossible as seeing the future is.
You underestimate Rachel, enormously. You are blinded by your affections for Zenyatta, you can not see the pure brilliance that Rachel is, and will become.
I can not say who would win, if they were to ever meet up. And honestly, I am glad they never did. No one would have wanted to see Zen's win streak end. No one would have wanted to see Rachel be defeated.
They way things ended was for the best, and Zen's owners did the right thing in not letting them match up. Now they can always be remembered as legends, and everyone can continue to debate who was actually greater. But no one will ever have to suffer the hurt of seeing either of them lose.
after watching Zenyatta's run today at the Breeder's Cup Classic against the BOYS (including the 2009 KY Derby and Belmont) and beat them. No question ZENYATTA RULES!!!
Sorry RA, her team should have taken her to the Classic. Zennyatta has proven it hands down, and beat the best of the boys. Zennyatta- HORSE OF THE YEAR. And her connections, from jockey, & trainer, to owners- sooo much more class than R.A's.
RA is a good horse but this year there is not much speed horses that got keep the pressure and pace hot so RA can hold on
Put her in a Race like the 1986 Kentucky Derby with Zabaleta , Snow Chief, and Grovy, or even Winning colors in the 988 Kd and see The Out come if you Know what i mean.
RachelAlexandrea has a wonderfulfinish .. from what i see she is deffenitly a finishing horse..other pple that race her should take note of that and try to save their horses energy till the end!

TEAM ZENYATTA! no matter what she closes! and wins! shes still undefeated, RA isn't. i cant wait for them both to race if they do though :) RA is amazing, but i think that Zenyatta would win in a match race. MTB almost beat RA, 1 more stride and he would have won. against fillies RA is amazing but against the colts in the Preakness she barely won. shes still amazing though!
Yea but she dominated the Haskell and the Stephen Foster. The whole time she plays when she hits the lead and if another horse gets close she just goes faster. Zenyatta has never faced boys or beaten boys. She's won by narrow margins over fillies. If she faced boys she could fall apart. I bet she couldn't hold a candle to Curlin. And Rachel would be 20 lengths out by the time Zenyatta got moving. Rachel could win just because she can get the jump on Zenyatta.
yeah but the only reason Zenyatta wins by small margines is because shes a closer, that doesnt mean shes not as good of a horse. and her margines arent small because she fading, like how in the 2009 Woodward, RA barely held off Macho Again. Im not saying that RA is a bad horse, but i think that Zenyatta is just as good of a horse.
Yea, I do think Zenyatta is a good horse, but RA waits for a horse to get up to her before she stretches out again. If Macho Again had gotten up to her she would have accelerated. And RA can be a closer, but what I'm also saying is Rachel Alexandra could win just because she has the jump on Zenyatta. It could come down to a race whwere Zenyatta has to go towards the front to stay with RA. Which would never happen.
I think the way Zenyatta runs races would cost her. Rachel could get 20 lengths ahead before turning for home easy, and there's not way that any horse, even Zenyatta could close that gap, because Rachel would still turn it on for home. Both horses deserve HOY but Rachel should get it. She had a career in 2009 we never see, aposed to Zenyatta's one race we never see. That's why it should go to Rachel
Yes but see Zenyatta has never run that way. She's used to doing things her way and if you suddenly push her in the middle of the race I don't think it'll do good for her. And the Breeders' Cup doesn't prove anything. Just ask Curlin last year.
Yes, but see what I'm saying, Zenyatta is used to sitting back until releasing her power in the homestretch. If she wanted to be Rachel, she'd have to stay with her every step of the way. That's not how Zen rolls. Rachel would sprint away and Zenyatta wouldn't go with her. If they did that you might as well not even bother having the race bcuz Zenyatta does not go to the lead. Never has she gone to the lead.
Zenyatta has never tried going to the lead. If she did she could be totally worn out and she wouldn't have the gas for the home stretch. Yes she can run any horse down when its her race, but what I'm saying is, Rachel can open up 50 in the backstretch and she'd win by default, Zneyatta couldn't catch her.

Why should Rachel not get HOY? She won three times against the colts, and lets not mention OLDER HORSES as a 3 YEAR OLD FILLY. That is unheard of.
Zenyatta beat the boys once, and although it was fantastic, it was ONE fantastic race as opposed to THREE for Rachel and lets not forget about the her 20 length win in the Kentucky Oaks, where she set a record there, and in the Mother Goose and came within milliseconds of SEC's record. RA is by far superior in her performance this year.
Do you realize what kind of fractions Rachel set in that race? Macho Again was kicking it in the back, and Rachel held up at front the entire race. Hey, what happened to those OLDER horses that tried to keep up with her in the beginning? They fell back to last. Where was Rachel? Infront fighting against a fresher horse. Who won? Rachel did. Over an older, fresher horse from the back, while she set suicidal fractions.
The "older" 3 year olds that Rachel faced were a bunch of future claimers...Bullsbay..Macho Again??? you can't be serious in using these to validate RA's greatness.Plus she looked very all out and desperate in beating Macho. PLUS,her fractions were SLOWER at every call..a very poor internal fractional race. Zenyatta defeated some true Grade ONE animals,the turf horse eclipse winner,and with relative ease. This is like a religious argument.You see it your way and the truth matters nil 2 u
Do you realize that Summer Bird finished 3rd in the BCC. Do you realize Rachel left SB six lengths behind in the Haskell? So it is obvious Rachel is better than SB, the only other horse she hasn't beaten that came before SB and after Zenyatta was Gio, you make it seem like Zenyatta beat a field much different than the very same colts Rachel had to face three different times.
You can't expect her to go through SUICIDAL fractions and keep going faster.
Bullsbay is five years old, and Macho Again is four, calling them three year olds is incorrect. Future claimers? Hardly.

Rachel is my Fav, I have met her in person, and i have watched lots of vids. you have to look at their breeding, Zenyatta has great breeding, but is much older than Rachel, Rachel has great breeding, and is very young, and has had a champion 3yr old Campaign. I love both horses. you don't have to send me bratty messages.

Just as Michael was way more superior to Charles Zenyatta was also that much more superior to Rachel. Rachel won horse of the year in 2009 only due to a huge east coast bias. While both beat the boys in 2009 the fields that Rachel beat were far less talented than that of the 2009 BC Classic. The connections were right not to embarass Rachel by running her in the classic.

@Horses4ever8 Posted that 1yr ago when Rachel was top notch (so was Zen). Zenyatta will be top this year, and I love them both. But I do believe Rachel did more LAST year, not saying she was a better girl between the two, but just saying in my opinion Rachel did more last year than Zenyatta. However, this year is definitely Zenyatta's year. She's always been there, and she'll probably be remembered as the better of the 2. Regardless, I do sincerely love them both and support Zenny 100%.:)

Zenyatta is amazing, But Rachel Alexandra sends chills down my spine everytime she wins. I just don't find that Zenyatta's style of riding gives me that dominating feeling when Rachel is 20 lengths in front. She deserved HOTY no doubt.

have any of you noticed that rachel alexandra's jockey uses the stick too much but zenyatta's rarely does it. so maybe thats how zenyatta is better because she wont be as stressed and worried to go in the race because she nows her jockey will never beat her.

However, I hope Zen's owners are aware that if they let RA get away like she did in the Kentucky Oaks and the Mother Goose, Zen will never catch her. I don't care what kind of speed she lets loose, it would be impossible. And I hope RA's owners are aware of the fact that if they lay too close to the pace, RA will never be able to hold off Zen's onslaught. The Apple Blossom is going to be a very interesting race. And maybe be as memorable as Seabiscuit's and War Admiral's matchup.

Just wanted to give my reasons Rachel got HOTY 8 starts 8 wins in 2009, Largest winning margin in Kentucky Oaks 20 lengths, Largest winning margin in Mother Goose 19 lengths where she also broke Ruffians track record :), Won three races against the boys, became the first filly in 85 years to win the Preakness and the first horse to do it from post 13, 8 wins at 7 dif tracks, 5 Grade 1 wins, 3 Track Records, Wins on Sloppy track in Haskell with Belmont Winner 6 lengths behind, won Woodward Stakes

Mike Smith easily hand rides Zen to win and she hardly breaks a sweat. Borel has to smack the heck out of Rachel and she is very sweaty at the end of the race. Zenyatta appears to enjoy racing, Rachel appears to be doing her Job. So which is the better racehorse, Zenyatta of course.

when rachel wins the breeders ladies next year and then comes back and win the classic in 2011...then we can say she is as good as Zenyatta...all the rest is BS...they can keep racing rachel with grade 2 horses like macho again and bullsbay but that is just that...grade 2/3 races...
i rather see rachel race 5 times next year with the intent of racing her in the breeders....
BUT THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!

My opinion Zenyatta has had two undefeated years and made history in the Breeder's Cup by becoming the first mare ever to defeat the boys in that race. Rachel is amazing no doubt but it's her maiden year, she hasn't accomplished as much as Zenyatta being the only horse to win the top honors for mare and colt in Breeder's Cup. Yeah Rachel beat the boys in the Preakness, Haskel, and Woodward but that has been and can be repeated. Zenyatta has accomplished something people only dream of.

RA should be HOY. she had a far better year, beating males 3 times and racing 8 times and winning all 8. everyone says zenyatta cause she is undefeated, but she only beat males 1 time. she only races 5 times this year and 4 of theme were with a weak group of fillies and her undefeated streak doesnt go for HOY, you can only look at what she did this year not in her career. and dont forget RA won the oaks and then 2 weeks later defeated the derby winner. i dont see that in zenyattas resume .

HOY is a bullshit popularity contest.
Anyone worth his or her salt can see a mile away that Zenyatta is a FAR superior animal and will go down as a legend among the greats. BUT,Rachel has had a good year in meeting the criteria for winning this popularity contest,so I would see no problem in RA getting the Eclipse.
We ALL know who the all time great is and she truly is the greatest female racehorse of all time.

And to what could we be envious of? Zenyatta's greatness? How could we, ourselves be envious of that? I'm not, I can assure you, and I love Rachel.
Zen is definitely a legend, and will go down among the greats, but I also believe Rachel is a legendary filly, we will have to see until next year that she deserves a place amongst the greats though.
Not all Rachel lovers are terrible, and the same for Zen lovers.

I have to say that Rachel deserves HOTY, not that that takes anything from Zenyatta. Z's beaten the best male horses in the world, yes, but only on one occasion. Rachel proved herself against the boys not only in the Preakness, but also on two other occasions. She's beaten the fillies, the boys, and the older males, not to mention that she's proven that she can run from any position. Horse of the Year: Rachel. Zenyatta's oweners should have handled her with more class. ^-^ Still luv her!

I think HOY for 2009 is almost too close to call after yesterday, but due to Zenyatta's overly-cautious career, I would give the nod to Rachel.
Granted, Z's Classic was devastating--she looked like Secretariat--but beating up on Anabaa;s Creation & Briecat all season hardly constitutes greatness. She was literally prohibited from proving herself until the Classic.

Hippo: RA never raced in the Belmont. Almost 1/2 her starts in '09 were vs. Gr. I males. The females she did face were Gr. I stakes fillies like Gabby's Golden Gal.
If beating 2 Belmont winners, the Kentucky Derby Winner, & the winners of various other Gr. I stakes isn't enough to prove RA's HOY deservedness, you're a rookie.

Rainy, it's ok! :) I sometimes use stronger language on these horse tribute threads than I should, after getting caught up in some of the more aggressive racing threads with more "fighting words" exchanged.
Zenyatta is a solid HOY contender after yesterday's win & finishing atop the NTRA's last Top 10 poll for 2009. My only quibble is that she's had a soft, soft season, whereas Rachel won 3 times vs. Gr I males. It's almost unheard of.

That's a good argument for RA CV and RA has had an historic season for a 3yo filly. Life is Sweet's win in the Ladies Classic though makes some of Zenyatta's wins look like they weren't so soft. Check out the 2009 Milady, Garret Gomez cut Z off and forced her to check, not an easy race. The Mosses were pointing Z's whole season for the BC. Props to them for choosing the much tougher race and letting the big girl really strut her stuff.

Keybender-Life Is Sweet was 3rd vs. males in the Hollywood Gold Cup; she's an excellent filly who has gone beyond her comfort zone in that regard. It's "sweet" to see her win the Ladies' Classic, & it does improve Zenyatta in my eyes to see her beat her stablemate. I agree with your assessment, yet it still makes me annoyed that we will never see *how* good Zenyatta is.
Why wasn't she in the Pacific Classic? Why did she avoid anything but distaff races on synth? etc.

3rd vs. older males in Hollywood Gold Cup is pretty good and LIS had a rough trip. Still I agree with you that as a racing fan I would have liked the Mosses to run a more aggressive 2009 campaign. Would like to know how Z could do in a 1 1/2 turf race. People worried about the 1 1/4 BCC but big Z looked like she was just getting started at 1 1/4. Mosses and Shirreffs did what they thought was best for the horse though and I can't really argue with that.

Why didn't Rachael show up for the BC? She knew where she could find Zenyatta. How do they know Rachael wouldn't like a synthetic track? Just because Curlin didn't? The cowards were Asmussen and Jackson. Zenyatta is horse of the year.

You can not know for a fact that Zenyatta can do such a thing. It is as impossible as seeing the future is.
You underestimate Rachel, enormously. You are blinded by your affections for Zenyatta, you can not see the pure brilliance that Rachel is, and will become.
I can not say who would win, if they were to ever meet up. And honestly, I am glad they never did. No one would have wanted to see Zen's win streak end. No one would have wanted to see Rachel be defeated.

They way things ended was for the best, and Zen's owners did the right thing in not letting them match up. Now they can always be remembered as legends, and everyone can continue to debate who was actually greater. But no one will ever have to suffer the hurt of seeing either of them lose.

Zenyatta, after the BC Classic, you have to hand it to her.
Rachel Alexandra still has another year to prove if she really deserves HOY honors. Hopefully she'll compete in the Classic next year.
They are both great horses, but I think Zenyatta deserves 2009 HOY honors.

after watching Zenyatta's run today at the Breeder's Cup Classic against the BOYS (including the 2009 KY Derby and Belmont) and beat them. No question ZENYATTA RULES!!!

Sorry RA, her team should have taken her to the Classic. Zennyatta has proven it hands down, and beat the best of the boys. Zennyatta- HORSE OF THE YEAR. And her connections, from jockey, & trainer, to owners- sooo much more class than R.A's.

RA is a good horse but this year there is not much speed horses that got keep the pressure and pace hot so RA can hold on
Put her in a Race like the 1986 Kentucky Derby with Zabaleta , Snow Chief, and Grovy, or even Winning colors in the 988 Kd and see The Out come if you Know what i mean.

TEAM ZENYATTA! no matter what she closes! and wins! shes still undefeated, RA isn't. i cant wait for them both to race if they do though :) RA is amazing, but i think that Zenyatta would win in a match race. MTB almost beat RA, 1 more stride and he would have won. against fillies RA is amazing but against the colts in the Preakness she barely won. shes still amazing though!

Yea but she dominated the Haskell and the Stephen Foster. The whole time she plays when she hits the lead and if another horse gets close she just goes faster. Zenyatta has never faced boys or beaten boys. She's won by narrow margins over fillies. If she faced boys she could fall apart. I bet she couldn't hold a candle to Curlin. And Rachel would be 20 lengths out by the time Zenyatta got moving. Rachel could win just because she can get the jump on Zenyatta.

yeah but the only reason Zenyatta wins by small margines is because shes a closer, that doesnt mean shes not as good of a horse. and her margines arent small because she fading, like how in the 2009 Woodward, RA barely held off Macho Again. Im not saying that RA is a bad horse, but i think that Zenyatta is just as good of a horse.

Yea, I do think Zenyatta is a good horse, but RA waits for a horse to get up to her before she stretches out again. If Macho Again had gotten up to her she would have accelerated. And RA can be a closer, but what I'm also saying is Rachel Alexandra could win just because she has the jump on Zenyatta. It could come down to a race whwere Zenyatta has to go towards the front to stay with RA. Which would never happen.

I think the way Zenyatta runs races would cost her. Rachel could get 20 lengths ahead before turning for home easy, and there's not way that any horse, even Zenyatta could close that gap, because Rachel would still turn it on for home. Both horses deserve HOY but Rachel should get it. She had a career in 2009 we never see, aposed to Zenyatta's one race we never see. That's why it should go to Rachel

Yes but see Zenyatta has never run that way. She's used to doing things her way and if you suddenly push her in the middle of the race I don't think it'll do good for her. And the Breeders' Cup doesn't prove anything. Just ask Curlin last year.

Yes, but see what I'm saying, Zenyatta is used to sitting back until releasing her power in the homestretch. If she wanted to be Rachel, she'd have to stay with her every step of the way. That's not how Zen rolls. Rachel would sprint away and Zenyatta wouldn't go with her. If they did that you might as well not even bother having the race bcuz Zenyatta does not go to the lead. Never has she gone to the lead.

Zenyatta has never tried going to the lead. If she did she could be totally worn out and she wouldn't have the gas for the home stretch. Yes she can run any horse down when its her race, but what I'm saying is, Rachel can open up 50 in the backstretch and she'd win by default, Zneyatta couldn't catch her.

Why should Rachel not get HOY? She won three times against the colts, and lets not mention OLDER HORSES as a 3 YEAR OLD FILLY. That is unheard of.
Zenyatta beat the boys once, and although it was fantastic, it was ONE fantastic race as opposed to THREE for Rachel and lets not forget about the her 20 length win in the Kentucky Oaks, where she set a record there, and in the Mother Goose and came within milliseconds of SEC's record. RA is by far superior in her performance this year.

Do you realize what kind of fractions Rachel set in that race? Macho Again was kicking it in the back, and Rachel held up at front the entire race. Hey, what happened to those OLDER horses that tried to keep up with her in the beginning? They fell back to last. Where was Rachel? Infront fighting against a fresher horse. Who won? Rachel did. Over an older, fresher horse from the back, while she set suicidal fractions.

The "older" 3 year olds that Rachel faced were a bunch of future claimers...Bullsbay..Macho Again??? you can't be serious in using these to validate RA's greatness.Plus she looked very all out and desperate in beating Macho. PLUS,her fractions were SLOWER at every call..a very poor internal fractional race. Zenyatta defeated some true Grade ONE animals,the turf horse eclipse winner,and with relative ease. Do you realize that Summer Bird finished 3rd in the BCC. Do you realize Rachel left SB six lengths behind in the Haskell? So it is obvious Rachel is better than SB, the only other horse she hasn't beaten that came before SB and after Zenyatta was Gio, you make it seem like Zenyatta beat a field much different than the very same colts Rachel had to face three different times.
You can't expect her to go through SUICIDAL fractions and keep going faster.

Bullsbay is five years old, and Macho Again is four, calling them three year olds is incorrect. Future claimers? Hardly.
I'm not discussing the fact whether Zenyatta is great or not, because it is obvious she is. You don't need to continue to state known facts. I am just saying Rachel is great as well, and she has a whole year ahead of her to prove she belongs amongst the greats.
