All this criticism of Adam is a little unfair. He dreamed of being a lawyer before going blind. The fact that he still dreams of it shouldn't be so shocking. That desire never went away, it was merely set aside out of necessity.

He still loves Mary, and is not intentionally excluding her. Has she expressed any desire at all to learn about his new activities or get to know his new friends? No.

His mistake is broken promises. Hers is showing no interest in this new chapter in his life.

Yes, the real Mary Ingalls lost her sight when she was 14 years old. She did go to "Blind School" and she did graduate, but there never was an Adam Kendall. She never married. She never had children either. She lived with "Ma and Pa" until they died then she moved in with Carrie.

Iceys, Mary went to the Iowa College for the Blind in Vinton, which I believe is called the Iowa Blind and Sight-Saving School today. There is a great web page about what the school was like when Mary attended. Google for it.

Yeah, its pretty clear that he starts to take Mary for granted b/c he regains his sight. Its pretty sad. It is also shocking that he literally changed, over night, once he could see again. Adam was no longer the character I fell in love with during this epi.

Aww he;s so happy that he doesn't even notice Mary anymore in this episode You could think he was better off blind, at least he really saw people around him. Sight blinds sometimes, I guess. In the words of Mary, it's amazing how things change. This is a very good special.

I think you're right Moon2Earth. Once Adam could see, he really started to take Mary and the blind school for granted. Although I was excited he could see again, I felt he wasn't the same Adam we once knew and loved. He definetly changed a bit. And you're welcome for the special Moon2Earth. More LHOP to come! :)
