Isn't he being a little bitch? I mean he was in a cover band and given a chance. So what if he sings the songs they write? But I can see it based on musician egos. If I was given that chance, I'd stay with the money. Why go back to ironworking, if I could sing in a big time band? Shown by the end of the movie. He leaves success and everything he strived to be to do some college bullshit music and keep his girl. What a tool. He lost... if the movie was real life. But it's not so fuck it.
@tyler4871 No man, you didn't hear. He blew all on crack when he started doing hip hop. He failed and now lives in a cardboard box in Miami Beach with Vanilla Ice.
@FlyKicksYe unfortunatly they didn't put this song on the movie soundtrack... Search on youtube for "Kane Roberts Reckless" you'll find the original song :)
@FlyKicksYe That is because in the movie Miljenko Matijevic did all of the vocals including the Hallelujah church scene and on the sound track Jeff Scott Soto sang three of the songs, Stand Up, Wasted Generation and Livin' The Life the rest on the album/sound track are Mili which are the same as the movie track. They would have sold more CD's if they used the actual movie tracks. Mili is Marks vocals and Soto was the original vocalist voice in Steel Dragon in the movie.
I love Miljenko Matijevic's vocals that come in for this song and We All Die Young (a Steelheart song that Miljenko wrote before it was redone for this movie). His voice is one of the greatest in rock and he has a great range.
That's what reckless life means... A rockstar's life is not easy.. you have to be strong and stand on your own.. it's not only sex, drugs and Rock n' Roll.... What realistic movie.
realistic because it was inspired by the real-life story of Tim "Ripper" Owens, singer in a Judas Priest tribute band who was chosen to replace singer Rob Halford when he left the band. The original title of the movie was to be Metal God, similar to signature Judas Priest song "Metal Gods".
this is michael matijevics voice i saw his band steel heart play like all of the songs from this movie you could also look it up on the internet. . . but also if you didn't know the movie is supposed to be based on judas priests rob halford leaving and tim ripper owens coming and going but they twisted it
actually when the guy was explaining the Ratt thing he was totally right, at the begining of the nineties most bands sold out and came up with really shitty stuff ratt , poison, skid row, etc...most stopped being what they were trying to adapt to crappy grunge and it was a total failure, so yes as a fan i expect my bands to do certain things, If i want Grunge i will buy some shit like Nirvana but not Crue
Take 2 at 4:30 is obviously a lip synch by Wahlberg, as anyone who has followed this movie would think .... BUT .... IMO Take 1 at 3:50 actually IS Wahlberg singing, because the script called for Izzy to tank that take. From a movie-making standpoint, I think it worked pretty well.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO BE A ROCKSTAR?
It may be alot of work but you bet your ass it would be worth it once you hit a stage in front of 40,000 people
