A good mosquito repellent is neem oil. It smells like peanuts but it's very good for your skin and repels bugs. My neighbors use a neem oil spray to keep pests away from their plants and it works.
@chuckMvideos my sister got a ninja and it makes chunky drinks, great humus maker though with the ninja. Montel will send you a new one.. I think he sent us three before we got the one that works great and now we have spare parts.
Oats and apples will draw out heavy metal.Love your show and it is so nice there.Sage smudge is a help for the bugs but if you just put a dryer sheet in your sock,it really works.
Can u get your hands on any neem oil there? Would help u a lot. That looks miserable to be food for bugs. :- ( That's where my compassion 4 living things ABRUPTLY ends! Get the neem and perhaps your moral dilemma will go away.
Hay Kevin & Annmarie how's the blood bank down there donate lately?? Well if not we want to thank you in advance: ~) -Nat the Mosquito- By the way my cousin zipp says hello and he'll see you soon, real soon and to tell you that reds his favor color. And so that he doesn't miss you please tell Annmarie to wear a flower in her hair "RED"! So that he knows its you because he really hates to miss out on a free buffet Hahaha xoxoxo *Wink* A: Banana Oil Vick's Vapor Rosemary & Basil tea rub
nothing i eat, and I had plenty of garlic, or applied worked, with the exception of (hate to admit this) OFF Deep Woods Spray, not lotion, not clip, not coil. I have scars all over my legs and arms from bug bites, the love love love me, the only thing that worked for me was the spray. I go out and no one is bitten but me, it sucks, but I do what I must
I've never tried this, tho have had stints in my life of having pretty soupy salads (oil & lemon). I just couldn't get epsom salts down (magnesium sulphate). Can you blame me? One of your guests, Kev'n Ann, spoke in term, collapsing it into "saloup". I liked that. Better than soulads for sure! .... Hmmmaybe I'll try sprinkling a little epsom on my soupier salads. What else or other regimen is there out there?
I heard they like to bite you if you've eaten bananas. There are bettermade airy/roomy mosquito mesh top/bottoms/head protective clothing now, you could see if you could find those....you might look a little wonky but it will gives you some extra freedom from mosquitos....;D
Anyway, ditto to the person who said diet high in sugar will make mosquitos like your blood. I was in thailand last year and was eating LOTS of fruit. Everyone else I was with did not eat a lot of fruit and I seemed to get the most bites.
This is a secret I learned as a teenager. I read that Indians were not affected by mosquitos because they rarely ate foods high in sugars. As an experiment, I tried this for a month, and my friends were eaten alive in the woods whereas I was untouched by mosquitos! Do not drink fruit juices on your fast.....green only, and you should be fine.
I make a homemade bug spray with water and the following essential oils to repel critters. Just shake it well before using. Citronella, Cedarwood, Eucalyptus, Geranium (especially known to deter ticks), Lavender, Lemon Grass, Peppermint and Tea Tree
@Chiefontheditty yes, spray onto skin, clothing or hair. I use this for some of our farm animals as well (this is too strong for cats though). Just dont use it close to eyes. Always dilute with a lot of water, never apply essential oils directly to the skin. Use 1/2 teaspoon of the oil blend to every 100ml of water.
Did you try garlic for the mosquitoes? I was told once that mosquitoes like the sweetness of the blood...so, if your blood tastes like spices or garlic, they are not attracted...Good luck :)

All my blenders and juicers have come from Freecycle so far. Can't beat that.
Have a Jack LaLane and not happy with it.
I don't wear colognes or deodorants and never have a problem with mosquito bites.
Does being in Costa Rica cause the videos not to sync with the audio?

@myroadhome I'm a noob to all this. Do you apply this topically to your skin? Or just leave it out in the open?

@peaceandveggies I hate mosquitoes! But I don't like using tons of chemicals either.
I doubt they can smell your blood before biting you, but they do smell your sweat. Maybe the sulfur in the garlic makes them go away?
I read something about Citronella oil and lemon eucalyptus oil being used for repelling mosquitoes.
zuiprax 1 year ago
@peaceandveggies Gotta be a lie! Because I take garlic pills and I still got bitten like crazy the nights I've been out this week
