People are so lost in the virtual self because they are all trying hopelessly to figure out the meaning of life, Its very ironic your talking about the virtual self taking on a second life on a video that exist only in a digital world. It's purely electromagnetic signals just like brain waves, I grow furious thinking about how much suffering is being caused because people believe the economy is bad. It too exists only in a virtual world, suffering is virtual because of fear.
I watched that documentary about water and how it holds emotion and memory which was proven through flash freezing and studying the molecular structure on a microscopic level. I've been thinking alot about the oil spill and how much people ignore the presence of water even though it's in they're presence for the duration of they're life and even death. It holds memory and emotion not because it's conscience but because nature balances things out through symmetry. A new begging is on the way.
You stated that with out the world there could not be an observer? Flip that with out an observer can there be a world? You say the world had to exist! But if there was no conscious mind in the universe to be aware of it do you think it would still exist? Or is it like nothingness?
@worldtocandice I think that is what true death is like, and we humans are sending the world in that direction. Even if your physically dead the world is capable of holding electrons which I believe is the worlds conscience, If your brain is splattered your electrons will be dispersed. Will you be able to think thoughts or will all thoughts cease until those molecules reform into a new organism. I think I will die thousands of times over before the damage that is done will be fixed.
We could have a consciousness if we were kept as a lab animal with no stimuli. We have a reality with enormous variety, but we each have different amounts of stimulation. The mind exists regardless of whether we have things to do.
before language there was feeling and response to that feeling. i suppose at some level we wanted control and to know just be lead into something! thing is, when we are lead we are actually at peace but we like to question and analyse - to be ourselves.
When I was a little boy we moved from Poland to the US. When I was learning english I wondered which of the two languages "came first". I am currently formulating this thought in my mind in english, put me back in poland and it only takes about 3 days for my thought processes to completly revert to Polish. I find myself wondering about life on earth for man before language evolved and how that related to thought vs expression in early mans daily life
I think that science is the only pursuit that can 'map' (quantify) existence. What it can't do is qualify. Science at the moment relies on reductionist explanations to describe reality. ie. Dr. Bolte-Taylor's mystical experience was simply a mix of neuron misfirings and chemical reactions. Absolutely true, but it was *also* a mystical experience. It's like arguing 'Romeo & Juliet' is just a succession of words. That's totally true, but it's *also* a complex love story.
...but the sense of connection we seek- to the universe, to others & ultimately to ourselves- cannot be felt through the impermanent & imperfect exterior. true fulfillment can only be found within.
even if we could more actively control the manifestation of our virtual lives, suffering would continue- because the root of suffering goes deeper than the objects that present themselves superficially within our lives. we attribute our suffering to external objects because, lacking a sense of connection to the spiritual reality beyond the material world, we seek fulfillment in them...
Let me put this simply... a baby is born in a box with a light. The light never goes out, and no one else ever interacts with this individual. As the individual grows, what will it think? What will it do? How will it survive? Lets say its porvided with everything essential to its existance... Would it be human the day it died?

We already have Alan watts ! , your just repeating what Alan said which is a repetion of alot eastern thought what your saying is nothing new . Your really not smart lol i'm so tired of you tubers like you destroy the ego stop the videos
you missed his point...sure he read Alan Watts...now he is expounding on the idea and explaining (using language to communicate and get feedback) this has nothing to do with his ego
didn't he say that we don't really understand what we, ourselves, are thinking until we explain it to another "brain" ?
I really don't know why your advancing this matrix idea (traditional matrix idea). You seem to just assume it's true and yet have no reason for thinking it is in fact true. Why shouldn't we believe that science can "map the world out" of what is and what is not? I don't think we can control it but we can understand that it tells us truth. Perhaps your "matrix" is more sophisticated then I see it. I'm familar with Putnam's "Brain in a vat" and it's in that context when I refer to the matrix.
The reasons I have are epistemological, which means that I am questioning what the activity of scientific investigation really amounts to. It seems as though the history of science is a continual shifting through conceptual paradigms confirmed based on observation. In other words, one appearance replaces another more experimentally robust appearance, but never do we arrive at the final true description of what is going on.
WHEN YOU QUALIFY YOUR WORK DO IT IN THE ABOUT THIS VIDEO BOX. IT ADDS CONTEXT REALLY WELL AND EXTREMELY EFFICIENTLY. i SUSPECT THAT YOU LIKE EFFICIENCY WHEN YOU ARE POSITIVELY CREATIVE IN YOU DAY WEEK OR LIFE.
maybe suffering ends when we realize we are not separate, just one "being" having nearly 7 billion different experiences..ie being and human embraceing. living from right brain and left brain for practical puposes =the "right" balance.
they only see half.. but they claim to get it all. no-one has actually looked at how the mind actually worked of the people who cocumented all the discoveries.
because the ego has been ruling the mind of 99% of humans over say the last 4000yrs.
humans have been "thinking" they are complete individuals. like "i'm separate to all other things". because of this they have not focused on their similarities. which is how i got to all the different subconscious minds i talk about. it is crucial..
to know this to be able to really understand what the documentors were seeing in what they were documenting. if they only saw Half the picture then it was Not Absolute. Most people when they talk about all this all talk as if all these dicoveries are Absolute.
then when we consider the ego. We understand that the ego is what makes people "think" they have worked things out when they haven't.
n i havent even started on the fact that most these things are incomprehesible to the human mind.
hey dude... pls don't think i'm trying to blow your view point here.
it's just that people have missed this view point when trying to understand past theories or philosophies or whatever really.
the other thing people have missed is that when we go Deep into a subject we get a "Mind Buzz". n that is what attracts us to go Deep. subconsciously we are doing it for the Buzz. we don't ever get to Absolute Knowing. There is No Such Thing.
the Sangines is a Huge n Deep topic as you would guess. but basically the Sanguines n the Melancholies have opposite functioning minds. one functions in paterns, while the other one functions totally random. one sees more the outside while the other looks at the inside. one has more of an interest of the surface while the other loves to go deep.
I do explain all this way deeper in my book.
my shit can take you to depths that would Blow Your Mind Right Out.
What happens is that once you go to Mind Blowing Depths too many times, the spin gets less n less. now what happens after that is that you get a Buzz when you take others there. it's COOl.
there is Depths you can go to that are right to the edge. i had to go there to work all this out many times. n this edge is close to insanaty. like you can only dip your little toe in as long as you pull it out quick. it's a Hell WikiD BuZZ, yr Mind tingles.
It's called being extroverted or introverted. And like with any opposite in life, you have to keep them balanced. Like ying and yang. To be an extrovert you need one set of skills (fluent languange - body, speech, etc.), to be an introvert you need another (philosophical thinking, introspection, knowing where to learn from, avoiding mysticism, etc.). Temperaments are a bad construct,no man is alike, the only reason to use them is to form prejudices and to give you an illusion that you understand
A couple of thoughts.. I don't believe we necessarily have to think in any given language. The "voices" can be intuitional, non-language based thoughts.
Also, who's to say how many "Matrixes" there are? We could be living in any number of cascading realities. Given that, who's to say we aren't apt to create another?
I also think that it's possible to be able to have thoughts without words. The only difference is that without words, people can't communicate a thought to others, at least not in a way that may be easily understandable. Good video.
There is technology that can filter and pump blood and supply nutrients to the brain. In the future (far!) there will of course be nanobots that can rebuild or improve the brain at a cellular level. Of course you can interact with other humans. Just now they cannot kill you. You each also happen to be God.

One can visualize and imagine without words, but I don't think one can move beyond mere aesthetic experience of the world itself and into an actual conceptualization of its meaning without speaking or thinking in a language. Not that aesthetic/immediate experience should be seen as less worthwhile than language or thinking, I actually think it is where spirituality and creativity are rooted. There would be no such thing as mystical experience without the wordless imagination.
But "making sense" or "having ideas" or "knowing one's identity"... all these require public language, even if we are thinking about them to ourselves. Meaning comes from sharing a language with others. Maybe beauty comes from the kind of "thinking" you're talking about, which I just shy away from calling "thought" because it seems less concerned with turning the world into a collection of "things" and more open to relationship and contextual embeddedness. Thought always tries to disembed.
While intuition or imagination let reality be and wait for it to show itself, the intellect or linguistic mind tries to rouse it into some artificial display or another through the agitating use of linguistic probes and/or conceptual cages.
For an actual actual conceptualization of the worlds meaning one would have to use language, i def. agree with that. But other kinds of thoughts and practical problem-solving can be done without language.Things like deciding which way to work would be the shortest for example does not require language. the thought we create or control anything is a concept created by the ego. the ego lives in fantasy. it is not real.
