There is so much going on in the final few seconds of this piece...there is a sound before the final bird's chirp that is like a realization, like a rising against opposition, there is so much power in the ending, I don't know quite how to describe what I feel...

@999duhast really? man, rammstein is EPIC; my very first metal band, ordered the sehnsucht album, now i have the first 5. i still remember learning the song buck dich (or is it buch dich?) with my buddy, and learning the little whistle intro from engel, and headbanging to eifersucht. but i digress; trent? medoicre voice at best, but his emotion makes him a brilliant vocalist, imo of course.

@999duhast i dunno man, he cant sing like the truly great vocalists out there, but hes great because of his EMOTION, same as willie nelson, he cant sing for SHIT, but the emotion in his voice is extraordinary, and thats why people flock to his sound; not my cup of tea, but i respect both men for being raw and honest and emotional in their music. i think theres a difference between a SINGER and a VOCALIST. josh groban equals singer. bob dylan equals vocalist, know what i mean?

@Darkside626 it shouldnt have to have anything to do with talent man. it should have everyhting to with musicality, know what i mean? the WAY you form the songs, not the skills used to play em. look at johnny cash, hes a "terrible" guitarist, but hes still one of the best in my book. kurt cobain, same thing; hell, im better than kurt by skills, but i cant make a song like kurt can. mark kozelek from sun kil moon is another example of this.

@MikeBurke1974 i actually plan on referencing it in a short story im working on. mostly inspired by the movie "the road", with viggo mortenson, thus meaning my story is post apocalyptic. NIN, pearl jam, johnny cash... will all be refernced in it, i thought it fitting to add.

@MikeBurke1974 I didn't know it was Nine-Inch Nails originally... Mad kudos to them, it's a really well-written song: I'm just a big believer in emotion in music, and his voice just doesn't catch it as well (in my opinion) I guess it all depends on opinion and taste

This song reminds me so much of the Underworld films. Should have been the soundtrack for the third film, rise of the lycans, fits the storyline in opinion. :)

@jasonkosola I'm a Christian and have considered Trent to be a musical genius for quite some time. While I can't really roll with all of his songs as I did before I got saved, this one in particular is still a favorite. That said, I'm no p***y and far from the stereotypical Christian. I'll say this: Sometimes it takes more courage to love than to hate.
By the way, I'm no Flyleaf fan...
