  • Frankly, if you ask me, the 90's version suck because it was to P.C. for me i like the 70's the best, though some of the 90's episodes were good to

  • This only reminded me of how the show used to scare the shit out of me when I was very, very little.

  • Mr. H will be played by Zac Efron.

  • all i have to say is this is fantastic

  • not that many people remember this show like i do =(

  • @bexmyxescapex what with the horrific nightmares of Mr N?

  • I'm suprised mike patton hasn't covered the entire letter people soundtrack.

  • @TheSnather lmao! For real!

  • This is just one of the many reasons I say legalize it!! How else could our parents could teach our ADHD havin' asses without some inspiration?

  • OMG! talk about bringing me back to my childhood!

  • PC version! We can have sluts and jersey jerks on tv but no horrible hair, huh?

  • @vel6969 well cookie monster now eats vegetables but maintains horrible grammar. what is happy hair teaching anyone? horrible hair taught people to be proud of what made them unique even if it was hideous, but happy hair? hair has no emotions dammit.....

  • @vel6969 that's right...Now you have to say folliculary challenged

  • 8o

    What the actual fuck.

  • I totally agree with thimoneus.... I lived those shows and now Youtube is the home to watch any good Television..... To find full length episodes of some shows is difficult but for the most part I have found tons of full episodes... Keep up the great posting.

  • Mr. H is obviously pretty happy, but I wish everyone would take just a moment to consider the implications of things before making these knee-jerk denunciations of "political correctness." My eight-year old niece has pretty unruly hair, and it's a source of real embarrassment to her. It takes so little to convince kids to be ashamed of themselves.

  • OT: Does anyone remember or have a link to the "Math Factory"? Been looking for it for about 15 years, ever since the internet popped up publicly.

  • I love this!! Brings back such memories...I only have good memories of elementary school...this is one of them!

  • what if mr h met barny?

  • I have vivid memories of Mr. H....

Yeah my kindergarten teacher told us a story about why he had his "horrible hair". Because he was afraid to get his hair cut after the barber cut off part of his ear, and that story just made me paranoid as hell as a kid...

  • omg!!!!! this is so hilarious!

  • You know it's pretty bad if people called your hair "horrible" back in the 70s....

  • You know...what I don't get is why anyone felt a need to make a PC version of this show....by definition, "Letter People" does not fit the norm of society.....

  • I rember this in kinergarden

  • So what?..? Horrible hair is politically incorrect?

  • i remember this, and obstinate miss o....

  • this show stoppedmakingnew episodes in1974... just in time for rockers in the head-banging 80's to figure out their new look!!

  • this video makes me feel so old i seen this when i first went to school

  • How ironic that Mr. H has hasidic music and yet Hamas starts with the same sound as Horrible Hair...

It's a good thing he died of HEART failure, which gets its sound from the same sound that starts Horrible Hair, before he ever found out.

  • o funny

  • Harold is kind of sending mixed signals.

  • yeah i got the same vibe from him. he's either being a dick, or he really wants to have a bunk up with mr. h.

  • He looks like a puppet version of David Lee Roth with that 80s hair lol

  • The whole show was kind of dark for a kid's show. I remember being creeped out alot as a kid.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one. This show (though I think it's strangely brilliant) is stored in my brain like a nightmare. Ms. A really seems demonic---and I just realized that she looks like an aztec demon/god no joke!

  • I had no idea this was even a TV show until recently. In Kindergarten we used to have the inflatible versions of the characters and we'd learn a new one each week.. listen to the songs and everything. I can still sing.. every word.. to each song.

  • You and me both, pal. Anyway, Mr. H's song was always my personal favorite.

  • Me too. I think it permanently scarred me.

  • I remember bein' afraid of this "Mister H" guy for some reason. I never could figure out why, but he used to scare me to death.

  • That hair makes him look like a rock star! lol

It's been about 20 YEARS since I've seen any of this show!

I thought the theme song was a bit longer?

There were letter people dolls in kindergarten, that was how they covered the alphabet like in 1987 thereabouts.

  • kann nicht da herr H sein... zu viele haare

  • waaaaaa da herr h :D

  • lol nice hair =D

  • this one part he sounds like jim morrison

  • i thought that too!! Either that or jim henson when he does certian characters on sesame street. He does a good 'jim voice'

  • y doesnt mr h wear a siut?

  • @stevenrf69 The big red 'H' provides all the warmth he needs.

  • thank god! i've been trying to explain this show to friends for years. they just stare at me.

  • I did this play in kindergarten

  • Does Wonder Shozen spoof this?

  • No wonder us Gen-X-ers are so f'ed up! We grew watching this stuff created by Boomers on acid!

  • boomers?

  • We had some really bizarre stuff to learn from as kids, but it was excellent and effective art. Sesame Street in the 70's, The Electric Company, Read Along, School House Rock, etc. That was some weird shit. It was so awesome.

  • my words exactly!

  • I couldn't agree more

  • This is my favourite letter. H = ♥

  • Brings back memories from first grade. Great times!

  • Yeah I actually remember Mr. H with the Horrible Hair.

  • Mr. H clearly stands for hippie as well... I could not remember jck about Mr. H except his green hair

  • I went to Kindergarten in 1996...but I remember it being Horrible Hair. Way to use out of date tapes, school! :D

  • cuold any1 here imajin mr h in a suit?

  • I see The Letter Poeple did not work for you...

  • what the hell did you just ask? imajin?? Tell me you're f'n kidding me!

  • :D At the end of the clip, Mr. H looks ready to kick Harold in the face.

Mr. H is Jewish? Well, H is for Hebrew, horah, and Hanukkah... :)

  • Mr H is essentially a puppet version of David Lee Roth

  • He scared the crap out of me, and he still does.

  • he does? y?

  • I don't know. Weird looking puppets creep me out sometimes.

  • wel would u believe mr h is jewish?

  • None of these puppets ever scared me as a kid. Sammy the snake from Sesame Street did though.

  • He used to scare me too. I don't know why, maybe it was because he hollered a lot about his hair or somethin'. Every time the teacher would turn on the record the class had with "H" on it, I'd tell her, "please don't play that Mister H. character again"

  • There was a '90s version? I went to kindergarten in the early '90s and we still used the '70s Letter People, haha.

  • whoa thats insane and sick

  • It was "Happy Hair" when i was in school.

  • holy shit Mr. H was Jewish?

  • i gess so. but if so, where's his siut & yarmulke?

  • Holy f*cking s*it! I remember these guys from when I was in Kindergarden! Ah...fifteen-year old memories...

  • This this goes to show what happens when most of a society takes acid. I'm glad acid is hard to find now.

  • These letter people clips take me back to kindergarten and part of this year also takes me back because i knew that march 1st was a saturday in 1997 and it will start to be the same in march 2008 but however most of this year takes me back to 5th grade

  • Takes me back to kindergarden & 1st grade...lol

  • takes me back to kindergarten

  • Abrams and Company made a huge mistake changing this guy: "horrible hair" is easy to visualize, but how on earth is hair supposed to look *happy*?!? Long live the original Letter People!

  • Mr. H sounds like Johnny Cash!!!! This shit is Great!

  • Holy S*&# I have been looking for this series FOREVER, thanks for posting this!

I wasn't even sure anymore if this show even really existed or if it was childhood fancy!

  • Mr. H seems to dig Klezmer.

  • It's fine, quality entertainment like this that made St. Louis the entertainment capital of the world!

  • omfg!! yes!! i been looking for this for yearlmfao i grew up on this lmao classics!!!

  • The most creepy show EVER!!!!!!

  • creepy?

  • y'know i wonder mr h doesnt wear a suit

  • 'Holy' smokes!

  • but ass naked with a H on his chest!!!

  • i guess mr h couldnt get a d8, hu hu

  • LOL! Good one.

  • but i seroiusly dont think he could hes so hairy

  • Mr. H. kind of looks like Mick Mars of Motley Crue.

  • g, ya think?

  • Mr. H has always been one of my favourites because I could relate to him; when I was in kindergarten, my hair looked exactly like his, except it was brown...

  • my bus driver is named mr h... but he doesnt have horrible hair he has horrible driving skills... GET OUT OF THE AISLE!

  • The Letter People are the Shit!!!

  • shit?

  • i'm suprised that "Robot Chicken" hasn't done a parody of this yet.

  • 'Robot Chicken' hasn't gotten around to 'Zoom' or the Vehicle Voltron yet. Give them time. They'll get to it all. :)

  • I'm still waiting for the "Gregg the Bunny" parody.

  • Greg the Bunny WAS a parody. That wouldn't make any sense.

  • Exactly.

  • Hey, the show hasn't been cancelled yet...you never know.

  • I wonder if they ever get into fights with the other stop motion show "Moral Orel."

  • what does that hav 2 do w/anything?

  • It has a lot to do with......something.

  • so what happens next?

  • i luv mr h!

  • Welcome to Letter People Land! Population: 26. LOL :)

  • yeah the letter people were the shit!

  • watching this brings back memories...I used to watch this on PBS during the day when they showed nothing but instructional programs

  • H is one of my favorite letters by the way.

  • This dudes a hippie lol.

  • I'm going comatose.

  • comatose? y?

  • Are the rest of the Alphabet here on you tube? I am teaching my son the alphabet and these shows are the only thing getting through to him. The word recognition is helping him to remember the letter and the sounds. Thank you to whomever uploaded these, this is how I learned and they are working great for him!!

  • I've posted all of the characters plus more. Check out my profile.

  • I loved this show and for YEARS have been trying to remember the name of this show. I NEED to see Mr. S -- Super Socks!!

  • Wow. Is this still on TV?

When I was growing up it was all about; The Lollipop Dragon, The Letter People, and Reading Rainbow.

  • Ah OMG LOL! We call our classteacher Mister H and he has so horrible hair too. ^^

  • oh my, i totally loved this show when i was like 5...i think it taught me to read!

  • I watched this in school in 1981. Thanks for the memories.

  • Mr. H the Headbanger with huge horrible hair

  • Mr. H was the MAN!

  • these are seriously so cracked out, i think this is as close as ill get to knowing what an acid trip is like...

  • Until I saw this intro, I forgot all about this show! Memories are coming back to me! :)

  • LOVE the letter people.

  • The song for Mr. H sounds kind of Russian to me.

  • da, pravda

  • Actually, I think they were going more for klezmer...although someone suggested to me that they could picture Dave Matthews covering this...

  • what's klezmer?

  • Traditonal Jewish intrumental music, like the stuff in "Fiddler on the Roof". A lot of Letter People fans agree that Mr. H's song sounds like that style...

  • o. wel i wonder he dont wear a suit

  • Where they making fun of hippies with Mr. H?

  • whoa, i never considered that. But hippies are such easy targets.

  • Maybe, between his hair and his laid-back attitude; I wish we could ask the schoolteacher who designed these characters in the first place.

  • I remember watching this show as a kid. I wish they would release it on dvd officially. excellent stuff

  • omg. I am totally reliving my childhood here. Thank you sooo much!

  • Best show EVER!

  • I'm SO glad you posted this. I just got the whole series on DVD off some lady on eBay, and I watched almost all of them one weekend. I can't believe they PC-ified this show. This is awesome. Who came up with klezmer-infused songs about the letter H? These geniuses!!!!!!!

  • Holy crap it's just as I remember!
