  • Absolutely, positively LOVE this song from day one. If you dislike this, you are definitely NOT cool.

  • She looks like a modern hipster.

  • @AdmiralGilgamesh hipster is not even a word to describe her

  • Great song from the 80's. Thanks for posting the video!

  • @fishman73071 I miss type of music, great days of the 80's and great times. I am so glad to have been a part of it. john hightower from houston texas

  • @levonwolf

    i couldn't agree more!......

  • Shes still Hot !!!! Seen her in LA a year or so ago

  • The Manhattan Transfer of the UK. Great Band!

  • this is not a clip. this is a state of art.

  • I love Swing out Sister band ! best Regards from Manila Philippines !

  • A wonderful example of acid jazz.

  • i love swing!!!!!

  • Corrine Drewery Such style great voice and cool tunes anyone know what she and the band are up to now.

  • This is one of my all time favorites...a great song. Thanks.

  • Forgot to mention that this music is now played on Smooth Jazz radio station in the US.

  • This lady has it all - great looks and magnificent voice. I simply adore her.

  • A class act all around - for serious music lovers only. SOS back to Greece for another gig please.

  • @merrycrisis eixan erthei?

  • @shrew972 Yup. Once back in Dec 2005 @ Club22, downtown Athens. Corinne was pure magic - I kid you not.

  • yes she can dance i just love to watch her

  • I've always loved this song. What a great music they play... :)

  • @gue71 You know what i still have his cd andi agree with you this entire album was so wonderfull. john from houston

  • @amcstudio30 yup. especially the brass section. but wonder why no one uploaded 'Am I the Same Girl'? miss to see the video.... :( Ida from Indonesia

  • Go ahead, Corrine! Do your dance, girl!

  • I love Breakout, but THIS is the song that turned me into a SOS devotee.

  • I love the song but dayum she dances like Elaine from Seinfeld. Dayum. lol luv her tho! :}

  • About the travesty/tragedy of her hairstyle in this video:

    See the original "Breakout" video for what her "signature" bob should have been in this video;

    "Swing Out Sister-Double Feature (2/1996)" for a beautiful modern sexy update of her bob (plus a couple of great rare vocal/keyboard renditions);

    "Forever Blue (1989)," "Where in the world,", and "Waiting Game (1989)" for Corinne as the stylish model (who just happens to sing);

Swing Out Sister - La La (Means I Love You) - "groovy"

  • Dont be fooled by love songs and lonely hearts

  • love this!

  • This awesomely fantastic song has NO dislikes. How many other songs can say that on YouTube?

  • i love the bossa nova/swing/jazz tempo of music like this. swing out sister, sade, basia, blow monkeys, etc. made this hip. it reminds me of coffe houses in the 50's and 60's beatnick era.

  • Swing out Sister are really good, the only thing is that the singer needed ot have shot her hair sylist. There were so much nicer styles to be had in the eighties.

  • @starlight76able Not sure if you know how cutting edge the 20's style was then but it was quite influential. She was right in the start of that revival.

  • @starlight76able I'm sure that that's her "signature" hair style...and she looks pretty damn good to me!!

  • SOS hit #31 in Billboard, 2-27-88. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • this is what I call real music.xx

  • Ohhhh MAN I LOVE this Song and Video! It reminds me of Warm summer nights down at Milwaukee's Lake front. Or When my parents and I would go on vacation to Florida. Warm balmy tropical nights.

The 80's really DID have a Great variety of musical styles.

I liken the 80's to the 50's/early 60's. Those were times of some of the Greatest musical inovations and Experamentations!

The groups of the 80's had MIDI and Electronics that were never available before, so they just played around.

  • I heard this song when I first went to college...a time of great change for me, a transition into adulthood, out on my own for the first time in a different city (Chicago) far away from my parents in LA....and so there were lots of trips to the airport. This song fit that time in my life so well in so many ways.

  • This song has sooooo many memories for me its uncanny....was w/my first love then and man.....this whole cd is music that is part of my life...

  • This song is great. The 80s had the most unique bands with the most unique sounds. SOS was a great example of this phenomena. Awesome. And yeah MTV was cool then. Not filled with reality shows. Before the web it was the place to see what the musical world looked like.

  • One of my fave SOS tunes.

  • Shoulder Pad Blazers are RAD!

  • classy song

  • She's got such a great look.

  • see this was the kind of stuff they used to play on VH-1 back in the day, good grown up music.. I love this song :-)

  • Love them!

  • Great song.Love the jazzy horns that it features. And that lead singer is so damn cute it should be illegal.

  • @listerone

Corinne Drewery isn't just cute, she's Beautiful with a capital B. When Corinne does that "Oooo-ooo" at 2:49 it gives me chills. Such a terrific voice in such a lovely package.

  • cuando las cantantes enseñaban una cosa:su TALENTO

  • Back in the day I brought both cd's loved Swing Out Sister... actually it was cassette ....

  • Back in the day I brought both cd's loved Swing Out Sister...

  • I love this album so much.

  • this was the time when it was about the talent & the music. sad that has changed so much now that you have to go back nearly two decades to find great music, talent & class.

  • I bought this record when it was new and played it all of the time. The times were so nicer then compared to today. My gorgeous young 22 year old European wife (model/volleyball player) and I having romantic dinners with this song on in the background. Such a classy song, reminds me of my first trip to Paris in 1990.

  • Does anyone have lyrics on this?? timeless tune

  • THE VERY BEST UH UH !!!!!

  • That is one big, padded suit she's wearing; but not as big as the one David Byrn is wearing in the Stop Making Sense video.

  • I had heard SOS on the smooth Jazz radio channel several times over the years, but was always somewhere where I couldn't write down the name of the song or group and since they weren't on the radio a lot, never became a fan as far as buying their CD's.

Until 2007 when I rediscovered them on Youtube and you know what, 'It's Better to Travel' has been in my car CD changer EVER SINCE ! Next up, will be Kaleidoscope World and I just heard two great songs off of 'Get in Touch with Yourself'.

  • Even back in 1988, I thought that this tune was very hypnotic. I wish that The Pop Music Industry would make them like this today. Oh well, if wishes were horses we'd all take a ride, right?

  • This group have a unique style..... Imposible to immitate!

    Great times and memories......

  • Thumbs up if you think she looks like a female science teacher trying to be cool and dance in this video.

  • She has a cute haircut and suit.

  • Great song from when I was in high school.

  • @ucfanbigben1971 i was in college when this song was released..."It's Better To Travel" was a great CD!!!

  • This song still rings true through the mess that is happening in the world today.

  • Love this song!!! For some reason i always thought this was Everything But The Girl... Thanks youtube:)

  • smooth song!!!!

  • My mom used to think the words were - "Don't be fooled by love songs and lollipops" FUNNY :)

  • @jamiegrifter LOL! Me too!

  • im a hiphop guy and this sound is hot.

  • The fact SOS and this song was underrated could give you an idea about the kind of music you can heard in the 80s!

  • This is one fabulous song!

  • quizas la letra sea mas o menos buena , pero yo de mucha musica de los 80´s ya sea de mexico o del extranjero QUE BARBARO OSEA.......LA MUSICA DE CASI TODAS LAS CANCIONES NO TIENE MADRE!!!!!! y mi eterna pregunta.......ACASO LOS ARREGLISTAS O MUSICOS ERAN MEJOR QUE LOS DE AHORA????.......maybe the lyrics are ok...but many many music from the 80´s from mexico or u.s the rythm and the mix of all instruments are AWESOME AND PRICELESS!!!!

  • @espigeromaximo mi hermano parece que si o por lo menos realizaban un trabajo mucho mas artistico realmente la musica de esas dos decadas marco una epoca inolvidable saludos desde Venezuela

  • For those who were wondering how Twilight World from Swing Out Sister did in the UK here's the answer. The song peaked at #32 in the UK in May of 1987.

  • This song is the epitimy of a life and era long gone, low crime, unity in the urban avenues and in the country. In other words listen closely to the lyrics WOWWWWWWWWW! I LOVE Swing out sister!

  • when they are in the pool area that video was made in puerto vallarta , mx

  • bravo swing out sister! unique style!

  • YOU'RE LIVING IN THE TWIIIIIIIIILIGHT WORLD!!!! hahahahaha I love when the lead singer hits that note!!!! Like to see Taylor Swift hit a note like that.

  • i love this swing out sister rock it miss corrine

  • first off, she was in the modelling field.

second, goldie...check out the extended mix out there on this one.

third, someday i would truly love to have a collaboration with them.

  • I seem them in Los Angeles within the last year, she is 51 and still hot. and sounds as good as ever. a first class act.

  • Love Them Forever! I even have a Vintage Mannequin I named after Corinne!!!!!!

  • I LOVE SOS

  • WOW....This Is One Of Those Jamz That Makes A Nostalgic Tear Well Up In My Right Eye, Bcuz '88 Was A Good Year.......(sigh)......Much Appreciation 4 The Upload

    aritokiri.

  • This would have been a great Bond theme! Great song, from a great time for music.

  • love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • swing out sister music is very cool love it :)

  • This song did not become as popular as it deserves to be. Loved Swing Out Sister!

  • @justinlwerner That is because the brainwashed White general public would rather listen to something like Michael Jackson even though he cannot sing worth beans. How popular a musical act is depends on factors such as their status with the press and how trendy they are rather than their ability to perform music. These are signs that western civilization is on the decline.

  • @MrBEB123 "Michael Jackson cannot sing worth a damn." WHAT?? Kill yourself.

  • @dkthg I have too much to live for like ridiculing Michael Jackson fans and listening to Swing out Sister. Isn't that what Jackson essentially did, kill himself with drugs despite having millions of dollars ? Most People can live healthier than he did on less than $25K a year, says something about his intelligence. If you want to know what good singing is listen to this video.

  • @MrBEB123 Who said anything about drugs?? SOS is an underated pop group with a talented, unique singer. Micheal Jackson was a gifted, unique singer and ALSO one of the greatest dancers of ALL TIME! How 'bout we compare Prince and Fleetwood Mac while we're at it? LOL!

  • @justinlwerner

Maybe, according to the major records, they were out of fashion. Anyway, this song is always up to date....they recorded many good songs. They deserved more...

  • Don't push it, she's not 51 for a few more days! (Sept. 21)

  • she is too beautiful to have such a bad haircut!!!!!!!! she has a lovely singing voice and model type body, i cant believe her ass is 51 now dam i remember being in grade school listening to this song!

  • this song has that Sada/Mica Paris sound right! So smooth and jazzy. Love it!

  • My favorite SOS songs are this one and "Breakout". Of course, those are the only two I know.

  • hermosa cancion,hermosa voz

  • Absolutely lovely... Just saw them earlier this year in San Francisco...

  • My fulture wife. LOL.....

  • love swing out sister brings back good memories she has a beautiful voice very sultry and her tone is great wonder where this band is these days ...

  • @kbgotflava -

If you haven't checked them out recently, take a listen to their latest album "Beautiful Mess" from 2008. Some very nice tracks, a few which I consider had more of a more immediate, "street" sort of character to them (compared to their older, more orchestrated, string-laden hits).

Plus, they toured limitedly in the states last year!

  • Oh, to have smoorth jazz back.

  • she looked like a guy...lol

  • Amazingly enough, I ended up buying this album just for this song, and it's one of the few albums I own in which there isn't a single song I don't like.

  • She has a beautiful, sultry voice. Good control, tone, and pitch. A good singer.

  • Muy grandes los Swing out Sisters....

  • At 2:34 her voice is so sexy it just turns me on.

  • love this band back in the late 80's

  • What a great tune I really like it when Andy does the little piano riff at 2:50 just a great tune all the way through.

  • Love this song! Miss the 1980s.

  • group who made classic& funky jams S O S!!!

  • i've been on a SOS kick lately.....LOVE them....memories of a nicer time....

  • Wow!!! The quintessential 80's. Thanks for posting.

  • New Moons, Eclipses, and Shadows, mysterious creatures roaming in the (Forest of Passage). To enter is to beleive in unmystic forces but human helpings.

  • Another great song I love by SOS

  • Hit #7 AC, #31 pop in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • Very classy lady!!!!

  • Love that first Swing Out Sister CD it would be a desert island disc for sure

  • This is a classic song. Love it. Miss the eighties.

  • Id love to hear Corrine Drewery record something brand new ! This is an all-time classic song !!!!

  • Awesome song. wish it was the full album version.

  • had this ALBUM years ago and there song was on my mind. thanks for having them on here. that was a great album, heck still is. they should re release it

  • Had the chance to talk to Corrine in the 80's, at Le Palais, Hamersmith. She was doing an interview with Gary Davies, and I was working there... She was so beautiful

  • its okay its not all that they sound like a rip off of sade.

  • @royalnash What is your musical background to put forth such a statement. Sade' work is totally different from these guys. Listen to both, whole catalog and then correct your statement.

  • this song evokes memories of the good 'ol days

  • heard this song on the smooth jazz station the other night for some reason so i decided to look it up on youtube.

  • British cool right here!!! I remember this was on Video Soul long ago...

  • awesome voice! so smooth, sexy and underated. miss u corrine!

  • que bello este tema ,me lleva de nuevo a los recuerdos de mi infancia para mi Corrine Drewery era perfecta desde todo punto de vista, su interpretacion era perfecta que tiempos y que recuerdos......!!!!!!!!

  • i miss this, i used to love songs from the SOS

  • I love this song! Go to youutube/parisel313 for old skool fun1

  • Great song.

  • @3:13 what on earth is she doing? i love this damn song and will always love it

  • @brucekent98 -

It goes with that stuff at 2:44...

  • Simply the best! Very Classy!

  • Why did they allow Corrine to dress like that! She's such a knock out even all these years later!

  • @gratiotcert -

Yeah, the first time I saw the original video for this, I thought great setting with that outdoor contemporary mansion pool but what a terrible mannish suit and too-short haircut for such a beautiful singer.

For a couple of music videos that show Corinne in her stylishly best, check out "Forever Blue" and "Waiting Game" here on YouTube. They really highlight her sense of fashion style and grace.

She's a natural - after all, she was planning on being a fashion designer.

  • When will they bring back the "Am I The Same Girl" video they filmed in -- Mexico?

  • I am so glad to see this video back on YouTube!!! (It disappeared for a while, there.) And yeah, to happymike44, you are so so right about music being way better at that time! Thanks for the imagery of that picturesque era in San Diego.

  • I love this group they remind me of my life in San Diego and driving along the beach with the top down.

Listening to SOS and Basia and just enjoying life and the sunsets.

The music was better the clothes were better the cars were better and yes my first car was a two tone ford mustang and yes it was a cool car to own and drive.

  • I love this song

  • Whether she can't dance or not the fact of the matter is that yes although this group was popular 25 years ago, the music is still good today. Plus the record companies wish they could make money like they did back then. The product back then was better today the product is garbage and the companies are going broke.

  • a question for all those tits that talk down on corrine- where the fuck are your hit singles at?

    yeah, i thought so.

  • @tet43

The problem is in '87 most videos were still nothing more than promos for music. Michael Jackson was an oddity even back then. Janet Jackson's team of choreographers were just forming in '86 and '87.

Anyway, these guys make their millions in front of a Japanese audience and they could care less about a klutsy dancer.

  • @wilhelm2ss Good points! I didn't think about those things. Thanks!...

  • True enough, but I still love her. This video seems to be edited though and is disjointed. It isn't the original version or length because the song is over 6 minutes in length.

  • @plutaris33 I did too, particulary in the 80s.She has a great look, and a sophisticated, breezy style....easy on the eyes and ears.

  • What an absolute moron.

  • @CollinKelleyPoetry It's just an observation and a comment.Go F yourself!

  • @CollinKelleyPoetry You can say that again! tet43 is just like all the other friendless trolls on here!

  • Congratulations for the most negative comment here. People like you are the prime reason why Swing Out Sister does way better in other countries.

  • @datkoolbrutha Would you people get a grip?I happen to enjoy their music very much but it's quite obvious she has no rhythm!I suggest all of you take your thumbs out of your mouths, "butch-up" and develop a sense of humor!

  • Who cares if she can't dance? It's her vocals that count. And too bad nobody thinks your funny.

  • @datkoolbrutha Sweetheart, you need to get a "real" friend, and stop trying to "protect" Corinne from the big bad man who thinks she can't dance.(LOL)This is a group that was popular 25 yrs ago....your indignation is sweet, but a little late.(LOL)

  • Late or early, your the only hater here, lol! And nobody cares if she can't dance.Bottom line, nobody agrees with you so whatever you say means nothing!

  • @datkoolbrutha Ow, you hurt my cyber feelings(LOL)Actually, the bottom line is you're a humorless prick, who uses pathetic terms like "hater" because you haven't developed the ability to respect and regard other points of view. These are PUBLIC message boards.I suggest you go find yourself a Swing Out Sister fan club if you want to worship her.(LOL)

  • @tet43 and your nothing but a dickface troll.Instead of being born, maybe you should have been shot in your mothers mouth instead of her uterus. Or instead, maybe your father should have shot his sperm on the floor so you wouldn't have been born.

  • @datkoolbrutha I see the conversation has taken a dramatic turn toward childish tit for tat.Sorry, not interested.Bye!

  • Neither was I,goodbye LAME ASS!

  • Corrine Drewery is for me, the epitome of feminine beauty with a voice to match!

  • @erwache100 You said it mate.Great post.

  • This song is off the hook! Corinne Drewery is a doll! I hope she comes out in my city someday!

  • This was one of the first CD's I've ever bought where I bought it just for one song, but ended up falling in love with all the others too. There isn't a song on this album I don't like. Corinne Drewery is one of the most incredible singers around, bar none. It's a real shame they didn't catch on so much in the US. Oh, well, our loss, I guess.

  • Classy lady, great song, awesome band.

  • this was one of those songs I always love but never got around to buy, it brings back wonderful memories.....

  • underrated song, never get tired of hearing it. thank u swing out sister we appreciate and love u

  • I love this song. The lip syncing on this track couldn't be much further out. I was wondering if this might be the video for another track for a few seconds her lip movements were so unrealated to what she was singing.

  • I am so sorry but I love this song and break out it is the queen in me see.
