As feel-good and catchy as this song may be, the truth is it has a deep meaning behind it, and very beautiful, sad lyrics, talking about the briefness of friendship and relationships (MMMBop meaning the short period of time they last), caring for them as if they're flowers, that feeling of emptiness you get when they're gone, etc. To my judgement, it's always been a very underrated song, for it was successful for all the wrong reasons. Oh, and great drumming, that was.

If you see throughout all his videos you can see that he had quite a loose grip and kinda poor motion. But, in current ones, you can see how he changed his grip and how the ending-stroke motion sounds so defined. (specially on the snare)

He matured a lot, not only musically, but technically as well.
