  • Thanks for doing this game. I played the original on my Genesis, and haven't been able to get my grubby little paws on a copy of Lost Vikings 2.

  • Baleog can do a sword combo after the cheat using down B.

  • This is new. New to me. MUST GO EXPLOIT THIS BRB.

  • I honestly had no idea that cheat existed. Really, who would have thought to kill themself off in the first level?

  • VromNath, apparently.

  • how do you get the cheats to work?i cant figure it out.

  • Because you didn't watch the video. Why do you do this things.

  • Olaf's attack doesn't work well in rom form because the emulator doesn't like to register 3 buttons being hit at once. So what you have to do is change the key configuration (just like DC did) so you will be pressing all the needed buttons with just the stroke of a key.

Also, Fangs Blanka attacks should NEVER be used against Tomator, because eventually you will get stuck in Tom's big fat self and fail to keep using the attack then you'd get shocked by Tomator... and I'd know.

  • Quite glad you didn't do this. Would have made the LP much less entertaining, and a hell of a lot shorter.

  • I wonder who discovered the cheat in the first place?

  • Great, they gain Street Fighter powers... Blizzard was sneaky with this one...

  • Protomen references never seem to get old if you use them in moderation.

  • Huzzah to you as well, DC.

  • Blanka? Really, Blizzard? That's just silly.

  • HAZZA... whats next? :U

  • That's not how you spell Huzzah!

  • OH GOD I AM SUCH A FAILURE!!!

    -jumps off bridge-

  • Not only does Erik get an attack, he gets the biggest, strongest attack in the game.

    SUPER-VIKING!

  • Fang must have too much static built up in his fur :D

  • That's more of an easter egg than a cheat. Usually, cheats show up unintended in a game, like party crashers that you can't kick out! This, however, was purposely programmed into the game,as it has it's own text line to go with it and everything.

  • Actually you don't know the correct definition of either.

  • Well then, sorry for hassling you.

  • Linkachu007 what you mean is a glitch.

Cheats have been programmed into many games, there are other kinds of cheats like what action replay does.

  • Yar, cheats are intentional codes/actions that modify the flow of the game. Easter eggs are secrets left by the developers, often referencing other games or media but not always. Exploits show up unintended in games, letting you break the way the game works with no planning from the creators.

Cheat: Up up down down left right left right B A start

Easter Egg: HWG on back of cereal box in L4D.

Exploit: You can fall through some tf2 levels by jumping in particular spots.

  • Heh, don't forget Orange Box juice :D

    I'll see you on L4D :)

  • Love The Protomen coment DC!

  • oh...

  • what about scortch?

  • DC mentioned it several times. It's just infinite fly power. Useful, but not all that interesting to look at.

  • Is Erik's attack more like a Hadouken or more like a Yoga Fire?

  • i accidently found this when i had the game a long time ago.

i was goofing off just after beating the game and i wanted to see if you could die on the first level and that happened. i beat the game four times that day.

  • Cool cheats.

  • That's amazingly powerful :O

  • Kudos to you DC for not using that cheat. While it's funny to use for some quick laughs, I think it takes a lot of joy/frustration out of playing the game the good old fashioned way.

  • ಠ_ಠ

  • About who was talking upon erik's death, I think it was the grim reaper himself, considering that the witch's box is grey, and no other box is black, it's also possibly thor, but we may never know.

  • I'm betting it's valkyrie.

  • I'm betting it's Tomator's Dad, since it is the exact same color speech box.

Could be Thor though...or maybe just the creators speaking to you from the beyond.

  • You forgot another Baleog's special move, when he slides and uppercuts with his lightsaber three times.

  • You forgot about the level skip ability, I think you can press X-Y-B-A (assuming your keyboard can do that combination) to skip to the next level... too bad you can't skip the last level and view the ending though.

  • If your keyboard can't recognize that many buttons at once, you can always set the emulator to set multiple buttons to the same key press;

    or get a keyboard that can recognize more simultaneous key presses;

    or if you're online reading this comment, you can get to GameFAQs and look up the password;

or stop being cheap and buy a USB controller or an adapter to use a console controller on your PC.

  • Who pulled your string, Schloss?

  • Um, yeah I suppose the wording was a bit harsh. Just trying to be helpful :-)

At least I left off my snaky comment about not being able to even beat later levels without the practice from the earlier ones...

  • I can't beleive how much power that cheat gives

  • Looks like Blizzard rewards you for being inept at gaming. Either that, or just dying like a crazy fool. Like Eric.

What I would like to know, is who tried doing that in the first place?

  • Everyone. =D

  • wow..that's quite the cheat. Rather than using a code, you just DIE on the level that seems impossible to die on. XD

  • @ChazDragoon Which is why it's not a cheat.... Game just thinks you suck so much you need it!

  • Thank goodness you didn't succumb to using that cheat in the lp wouldn't have been nearly as good.

  • Balog?! jumping!? what kind of Blasphamy is this!?

  • Great Job DC, but you missed one thing with Baleog. With the cheat active you can press down B and he'll slide forward, back, then forward while swinging his saber and kill any enemy in his way.

  • Wrong. Pressing Down-B did his leap attack.

  • I wish more games let you get cheat codes for utterly failing at the beginning of the game. Like if you died on the Dracula fight in Symphony of the Night's prologue, the game should've been "Wow, you suck. Have a flamethrower." Now THAT's how you kill the creatures of the night!

  • Holy crap, and here I thought those comments mentioning this cheat were kidding. It just didn't sound like the kind of method one would use to get a cheat, and to do all THIS? Wow.

I love how the game blatantly mocks you for dying on the first stage, though. =3

  • Fang unlocked the secret of storing static energy in his rat's nest of fur, Olaf is now a fat wizard, Baleog is now capable of self-created upward motion, and Eric is now Ryu.

Wow, those are some cheats. All you had to do was let Eric end his own life. Kinda reminds me of Yu-Yu Hakusho.

  • Actually, Olaf is a fat ninja. Vanishes in a cloud of smoke and buttsmashes his foes before they even see him coming.

  • True.

Kinda like Ebisumaru, except Ebisumaru can't vanish at will or do butt-slam damage.

  • Or Nightcrawler.

  • What are you gonna do next DC I gotta know?!

  • No, DC..how could you be reduced to cheating. D:

  • that's the point of this, he DIDN'T cheat, he's just showing us what the cheat is if someone decided to do so.

  • He's just showing us what he COULD have done if he had choosed to :P

  • Wow I wonder if anyone actually did the cheat without knowing it was a cheat.

  • Yo.

  • thats a pretty epic cheat
