  • I read this book several years ago. Loved the book. I went to see the movie today. It was sooooo good!!!!

  • is the story of sarah really happend? i know that what happend all it's true but did sarah really exicst? xx

  • @wendyennaomi, they used a real victim of the round ups to base the story I think (not sure). But, the point is that this French participation in the Holocaust was seldom made into films, which I think is more important even.

  • I learned a lot by reading this book, I just cannot let it down, few pages and i will be done. A must to read.

  • we read your book and cried and remembered. we survived as hidden children in france. betrayed by our own countrymen.my extended family father, brother and aunts and uncles perished in Auschwitz. thank you for writing the book and telling about the french police;s complicity in the atrocities.. we are anxious to see the movie.

  • That movie was so good! best movie I seen in ages! I didnt even know the French did the same thing to the jewish ppl that the germans did ..and here the Germans the most vicious of mankind for YEARS after Hitler

  • después de haber leído la llave de Sarah "Sarah's Key" .. Tatiana se ha transformado en una de mi escritoras favoritas, su novela es fantástica..

  • saddest good film I have seen, I am male

  • Stayed up late reading this book...had to know what heppened to the children, the families...it was wonderful and devastating. Son incroyable!

  • Just finished the book. It will make Marines bawl like little grannies. Beautiful book.

  • I just finished "Sarah's Key" and found it the best page-turner I have ever read. Any chance of a sequel, Ms. deRosnay? Oh, it would be wonderful to learn how Julia and William as a couple went through life raising Sarah. I will never be the same after reading this book. I wanted to reach back into the years and save those poor people who suffered in a way none of us today can even imagine! Thank you for a wonderful read! A sequel by this great writer would be perfect!

  • This video interview about the Nazi roundup of Jews brings to mind a quotation which, if memory serves, comes from Chaim Nachman Bialik:" Nikmat Dahm Yeled Katan mayoad lo barah hasatan."

    Melech Ben Yossef Dubroff

  • Stayed up all night reading this book. It really made an impact on me.

  • @givemeliberti omg same here, i cried my eyes out

  • Fantastic book.

  • I cried like so many times when I read your book. It's the most beautiful book I've ever read. It's a story which took part of me. I'm from Germany and especially Germans feel guilty for what our ancestors have done. Before reading your book I did'nt know anything abour the action of french policemen during the war or -especially- the Vel'd'hiv. Thank you for writing this book.

  • I cried like 3 times when i read Sarah's key, haha ;) it's really beautiufl.

  • @youarelikepoison Me too.^^

  • I loved reading this book,

this story has taken part of my life.

  • This was an amazing book. It feels like it could easily be transformed into a movie. :)

  • @rikulover9

    it actually was, this year......

  • Hello, I'm 14 years old. And I've read Sarah's Key. It's a very impressing and beautiful book. I live in the Netherlands, and it's read by everyone here. (:

  • Beautifully written story. I bought the book at Schiphol and the register lady told me that this book was the most beautiful book she had ever read, but that it was a very sad story. I have to agree.

  • I'm 13, and I love you're book!

I had read a lot of books about the holocaust.

But this is one of the most wonderful books I've ever read.

  • this is one of the most haunting books I ever read. i really wish they made a movie of it

  • Thank you, Ms Rosnay, for writing this book. I lost 20 family members in what is now Belarus during the war and I had no idea about the extent of the French Police participation in the cruel separation of parents and children and ultimate deportation to the death camps. You have exposed yet another horror springing from this war which needs to be exposed and dealt with fully. History will repeat itself if it is not confronted emotionallly and intellectually.

  • i'm 12 and i love the book im didn't finish it yet but it taught me so much about July 16 1942. Thanks! I wish it was a movie!

  • I have just finished reading the book. Powerful, overwhelming, sad and suspenseful. For a book of fiction this book was raw and real....

  • I am just finishing the book. It is beautifully written and, if for that alone, I am glad to have picked it up. I knew nothing of these events, and am ashamed of that fact. If we are silent about our horrific past, we are too likely to repeat it.

  • I'm currently reading this novel. Very good novel, but heartbreaking!! I definitely have been shedding a few tears throughout this book. I just can't believe that horrible things like Vel d'hiv and the Holocaust took place. My heart goes out to the all the people affected by this tragedy.

  • I am so glad I bought Sarah's Key. I am in love with this book and I am definitely going to look for more books by Tatiana de Rosnay! Sarah's Key, in my opinion, is so beautifully written which leads me to believe all of Tatiana's books will hold the same eloquence. Sarah's Key is definitely a page-turner that makes me not want to put it down!

  • I read it. And i'm a teenagerr.

Fantastic book, portraying the shocking events of which took place. I reccoomend it to everyone of all ages. Perfectly written. Well done.(Y)

  • Fabulous! Educated me on the Vel'd'hiv. Couldn't put it down.

  • Hi Tatiana, Please make the movie, i just finished reading your book Sarah`s Key . I am a film maker from the third world, Chile and I would love to make the movie I was imagining while I read, directing every scene in the book, the music, costumes, actors, scenery, etc-

Impressed, amazing movie could be don`t you think? maybe Polanski or a French Director i don`t know. Have you had any offers yet? ha, ha. thanx Tatiana bye bye,
