that was really good...the only thing i didn't like was the audio was terrible during the dialogue and the sound effects were way over the top. I think it would have been better with less sound effects.
Thanks man. When the video was made neither of us had ANY MA experience, but I've been practicing TKD since the beginning of this year. I haven't made a new vid yet though... -_-
That was brilliant. Everything was good. Yea, where did you get the sound affects? And how did you choreograph it so well? Just takes practice and experience?
Haha. That was great. The choreography made sense... not too flashy but enough for the screen. the sound effects and dust were a great addition. Nice details, keep it up.
Most of my sound effects I got from someone on the Stunt People Forum, which is a sort of community for indie action filmmakers. I also ripped a few myself from various fight scenes.
Hey portly kicker, two questions. Where did you find the sound effects for your clothing when you guys punched? second, how do you make the movie widescreen? Also, how did you make the smoke material stay on your fist, feet, etc. before impact? I lied I had three questions. Thanks from another avid kung fu movie maker/choreographer
Usually I hate choreographed fight scenes on youtube as the people doing them just look like faggots and my will to live dies as i watch them. But this was actually pretty good. Nice one. Good to see someones put some effort into a choreographed fight scene, rather than 4 14 year olds dressed up as chavs and rolling around on the floor.
Thanks Elliot. I'm really surprised at how good the response has been. The only problem is, I know for a fact that the film I'm working on at the moment won't get anywhere near as good a response.
ah, i havent seen this vid in a month, but its just as amazing when i first viewed it. good stuff as ever brian. can't wait to see your next fight vid!
Hmmmm... This Scott dude did seem to disappear! I think hes some sort of magician! WOW that guys cool! I wish i could make my self disappear! Wait i can! lol
I also like how you can tell that your friend scott handles the camera after the first scene because hes no longer on the floor. Nice budgeting of manpower by the way, but fix that continuity!!!! Digitally add him in there on the DVD release haha.
Youre right this is the best one, unlike other people youre coreography for fights actually strings together, im not an expert or anything but ive seen a lot of shitty youtube videos, its just refreshing to see something good from the next generation.
Hahaha! Yeah, the plot was merely a device so we could shoot a pointless fight scene. It's just a test fight really, but it turned out much better than I thought it would.
HAHA brilliant fight scene i love the use of the powder you guys got the right idea!! very well done just get the right story line boys do a serious fight scene your good enough to be able to achive that make a small scene with a good story line and costumes just shirts or suits etc...
I will go with what masterkiller67 said! its cocaine! lol! so what if i was the one who actually put the baby powder from C0-OP on the floor! lmao! baby powder!!!!

It's called power-powder (or chau-fan in Chinese), it's used in the Hong Kong film industry to illustrate the power of techniques when struck. Brian was lampooning the OTT nature of it. I guess it's more of an in-joke.

There was no need to be cheeky with that last remark. I wasn't being cocky or pretentious, I was merely just trying to reveal what I thought was the right knowledge so you were out of line. But if you're such a smart-ass yourself, you would have corrected me by saying pau-fan! :P
