While im on the subject, the goddamn sonata makes 274 hp stock with a 19 inch turbocharger and a 2.0 liter inline 4, this only 220 and 274 HP out of a goddamn 4 something liter 8 is a fucking JOKE. I understand these cars are geared toward longevity, comfort and reliability but let's get fucking real, eve back in the day, these engines were old ass slow ass technology, I AM a former panther platform owner, so I DO know.

@NancyPelosi1954 yea the NEW sonata. this engine was developed almost 20 years ago. and im sure 20 years from now there will be a new engine that will be MUCH better. and THIS 4.6L DOHC 32v V8 makes 290hp in the mark viii, with a dull factory tune. and ill blow the fucking doors off your sonata and a grand marquis with a slightly tuned continental.

@gearhead291 Highly doubt it, because then to be fair, I'd have to tune the sonata, with poweraxel's ecu reflash, it's putting 276 hp to the wheels...put an intake on, 2.5-3inch exhaust to quad tips, turbo timer and boost controller, remove 153 mph ecu limit... see ya later because were well over 300 HP at the wheels and much lighter. Moving on.

A town car is on the panther platform and these conti's blow those boats away so there is no comparison, good day

Since everyone else is thumping their chest about high liter underpowered and under tuned ford V8's...my 2011 turbo sonata will slaughter you from a dig, and at speed including when you hit the limiter and the sonata can still reach up to 153 mph. Have a nice day, sucks to get beat by a korean car, that being said I used to own a 2002 grand marquis, loved the ride, comfort, cheap repairs (Which were pretty rare) and reliability. I'll still take a turbo i4 over a underpowered 8 cylinder familycar

I was thinking of the mustang's specs, 96-whatever year, they were kind of embarassing for a mustang. Not that the 5.0 ratings weren't embarassing either. 225 from an american 5.0 is embarassing IMO.

lol dude. i raced one of these last night. lol 4.6l v8 in my 1.6 non-vtec civic. lol from a dig i walked him ALLL the way to 105mph then he caught me. lol. dude so your so called mustang v8 got stomped by a tiny 4cyl. these things (stock) are ok i guess but still slow. my car has like 100 hp but weights 2200lbs when this Lincoln has around 260hp but weights 4 thousand pounds.lol

@skaterboy520c your a tool .stock 99-2002 continentals had detuned cobra engines that produced 275 hp from the original 320hp you see the tranny that they had in the lincoln at the time coulnt handle extra 40hp so they had to detune it. NOW that the history lesson is done REALIZE THIS BEFORE you say crap next time 99-02 contis 0-60 6.9 sec stock quarter mile of 14.6 at 98 mph your shitty 1.6 non vteck STOCK is 0-60 around 9 sec depeding on the year. quarter mile is like 17ns YOU RACE A TOWN CAR!

@SuperSnake330CID thanks for defending the conti man, but they do not do a 14.6 1/4. the factory times are a 7.5 sec 0-60 and a 15.5 sec 1/4 @ about 95 MPH.

@gearhead291 7.3 for 98 i found on google when i just typed it in and 6.9 for 2001 -2002 lol i already had 2 of them well i still have my second one but i had a 98 now i have a 01 theres a slight diffrence in accelaration from 98 to 01 courter mile is around 15 theres an article to prove it to bro. check it out if you want go on google and type in lincoln continental 2001 quarter mile or 0-60 its a website with ocean blue for a back ground and balive me bro any conti from 99-02 will take a civic

@Lycanw then you dont know what your talking about. a stock 3.5l HO of this year makes 253hp where as the lincoln (98) makes 260hp. then 275 in 1999. not to mention this 4.6l ( with mods ) is more around 270 ish HP.
