I just bought a Flip Ultra HD and a Vado HD. They are both excellent. After testing both, the Vado HD seems to have the edge. The Sony is not as good as either the Flip or the Vado, in my opinion. Ultimately, you choose what you think is best for yourself.
I have a flip and recently purchased the underwater case for it I like that it is small and doesnt have a screen flipping out so that its obvious you are recording someone or something. One thing to consider if you do opt for a flip..a new one is coming soon with wifi. I imagine they will probably wait until after christmas before introducing it.
It depends, i'm guessing the webbie hd will have a higher zoom but won't be very easy to fit into your pocket. But any camera by flip will be more commonly known, flip is like the Apple of mini camcorders. Not only that, it IS very easy to fit into your pocket and you wont have to put it into a bag. It's up to you(well sort of).
Please don't use Apple as a metaphor for good quality.
Having repaired dozens of Apples, I can tell you this for sure. What Rolls Royce is to cars, Apple is not to computers. I'd rather buy a Dell (which to computers its like more like what Ford is to cars)
I never used apple as a metaphor for quality. I should have rephrased it differently so you could understand what i meant better. What I mean is that people recognize your device better and are more interested in it, which is basically what people think with macs. "oh my god, you have a mac, that's soo cool." It is sort of similar to what you get with a flip, flip is becoming a well known brand.
