In case anyone's interested, Michael Iceberg is alive and well. He has a Facebook page, just search Facebook for "Michael Iceberg." There are video interviews, music you can buy, and regular updates.
I saw Michael Iceberg at DisneyWorld (Orlando) back in the mid-70s. He was performing in a restaurant in (fittingly) Futureland. His musical set and his performance was simply breathtaking. To this day, I consider Iceberg's performance on that day long time ago in a theme park far, far away as being one of the very best musical entertainment experiences of my life. That man's talent is simply astonishing.
Back in 1979, I got hungry and went into a restaurant at Disney World. I was there marching with the T.L. Hannna Band. While I was eating a hot dog--Mr. Iceberg was playing. Since then, Mr. Iceberg's music has been a reminder of the wonderful time, the wonderful opportunity it was, to march, with the T.L. Hanna Band, at Disney World.
Thank You so much for sharing this! Man it was a long time ago when I first saw Michael, he was just awesome, considering the time he did these shows. I worked for Disney World in the early 80's, and got to meet him. He was a really nice person to talk to, very interesting character, not stuck up at all. I'll never forget "Pigs in the rain" ever, that's an Iceberg classic!
I remember him coming to Auburn University around 1982-1983 with the Iceburg Machine. It was an incredible show, and I still remember it all. I remember buying an autographed LP at the time. Friend of mine still has it. In this day with sampling keyboards being the norm, most people probably don't find this that cool. This was all before MIDI was available, so he really built had to create this machine.
Thanks for the videos, but Figgywithit is correct, Michael changed the name to Fanfare, but the actual song is called All I Need to Know, and it was most famously performed by Kenny Rogers.
I saw him in Disneyworld in 78 too and several other years around that time. I have a signed copy of the album. It came with sheet music of his pretty original song "All I need to know".
he is playing live right now in Cambridge, MD at the Hyatt Regency as an entertainer for Passover events. His show includes video of this special and live renditions of songs from his shows.
Thank you so much! I saw this gentleman perform many years ago in a ship's lounge on Mission Bay in San Diego. What an amazing performer. He built all of his own equipment. And get into his music!!! Under the spots the sweat was mingling with the tears. It was a night I'll long remember and I too have been hoping to find him again.
Anytime I had a choice of Space Mountain or Michael Iceberg, I chose Michael Iceberg and saw his show five times a day. I remember him authorizing us to make authorized unauthorized recordings. I have to find those cassettes and have them made digital before they disintegrate.
I used to work at Disney World, and on my lunch breaks from the show I was doing, I'd go watch Michael's show. I never got tired of it. Luckily you can still buy a CD from his website of the shows he used to do. Michael Iceberg is a rare talent. Thanks for all the beautiful music, Michael!
What ever happened to Mr. Iceberg? I heard he possibly retired, but more than that he seems to have vanished from the internet. I really miss him, he is talented and nice at the same time!
He is alive and well, and is very nice. his son, now 12, can play the guitar pretty amazingly well for a 12yo. Don't know about "prodigy" though, haven't met him yet. Michael is still a very gifted keyboard/pianist.
I could go on but I think that would be unfair as he does not know I am writing this.
I was lucky enough to see Michael at Disneyworld when I was a little kid. For the late seventies, his music sounded so futuristic, and in looking back, he was way ahead of his time. I went up and got his autograph after the show, and I can still remember him as being one of those cool adults that don't talk down to you. Thanks for the memories Michael!!
Michael is a great friend of mine. Unfortunally these days, he's not doing so well, health wise, and marrage. HE currently resides in New Market Mayland, his son, now 10, is a prodigy, extremely talented
My old copy was taken from the Diz chanel when it first came on, and it was on a BETA VCR! My girls will get a kick out of seeing this again, since the Beta tape bit the dust long ago.
I saw this in 1984 or 1985. I had it on VHS for about ten years before the player ate it. I had a Casette from the VHS... but have not found any DVD's of Michael Iceberg. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS. THIs is the exact concert I had on VHS!
I saw Eisner performing live in the Space Cafe in Disney World over 20 years ago. He was a bit nuts then and still is.. he's a musical magician and fits in perfectly with the Disney theme. Mainstream audiences do not appreciate his special talents. He is kind of like the Liberace playing a synthesizer. He was decades ahead of his time with synthesizer music.

I'm refining my last, I have heard that song elsewhere. My apologies for the mispost, and when I remember where, I'll post it.

"He was a bit nuts then and still is.."
Red Skelton was funny and unique and one of the kindest people ever.
He had characters on his show like Freddie The Freeloader, Clem Kadiddlehopper, and San Fermnando Red.
Would you have considered Mr. Skelton nuts?
