Now I am going to play some Gateway to Apshai :)

  • 2:54

What game is this music from?

  • Nice pack! Too bad the game I am looking for is not in it.

It was a logic game, a little like mahjong, but this time the background was space, it had a kickass calm music. There was a good amount of bricks in the middle, and we had to place "mirrors" around it, to connect the identical ones. so had to work with those bricks which were at the side..... does this ring a bell to anyone?

  • @SamYDe1992 It's "Wizard Of Wor" :)

  • @SamYDe1992 It is called Wizard Of Wor. It was one of my many favorites as a kid. Wish I still had my C64.

  • @SamYDe1992 "Wizard of Wor" (yes that's the correct spelling), I had it on cartridge.

I'm not sure if anyone has replied to you yet but I cannot see any even though your post is 9 months old :P

  • @Codcat Wizard of Wor was, & still is a REAL cool game! I have owned or played every version/port of it. I had it on C64 too BTW, & also Atari 2600/5200 & my cousin had it on the Bally Astrocade (best home port IMO). I remember the arcade version (have it for MAME) & playing it at some Canadian video game arcade, when I was like 10yo, hahaha. BTW, are you into emulators at all? I am always looking for new people/retro game lovers, who are interested in doing a little retro gaming, online.

  • awesome

  • @mikechicago You are right, thank you very much!

  • great vid!!! anyone remember what game the tune at 1.14 is ,???

  • (: Nicely done :) Bravo! :)

  • ... Some of them, some by name, others by gameplay.

After my keyboard broke and we've had our X86 desktop, I haven't even looked at most of these... God, 15 years or so now.

I had a C64 back in the early-late 90's, when they were already Old, and my cousin loaded up a TON of games.

  • you haven't included rock star ate my hamster :(

  • c64 was so much better than the original nes(nintendo)..i so hated the nes's music and sound effects..it was for impatient shmucks who couldnt wait for better games to load..so inferior in various ways to C64.

  • Thank you, I loved the intro music of "Shadowfire", a pity that it's not the whole song.

I'd appreciate if you published it entirely

  • An AC/DC game awesome

  • I only recognized like 5 games, but suddenly i feel like 30% of my child hood has been returned to me.

  • can anyone help im looking 4 a game but i cant remember its name it was a western and it came on double cassette the first level was a train heist

  • What is that tune at 6:57? Sounds so familiar.

please can someone tell me what the game at 8:35 is? that hockey mask wearing monkey man platformer was also one of my favs

  • That was Toki :)

  • Wow! That brought back some memories. Very nicely done!

  • These games are sped up - they don't run at the original speed. Less games with normal speed would've been much better. But I guess this fits with today's hectic "I don't care where I am going as long as I am going very fast"-lifestyle.

  • 7:55! Lol I will NEVER forget playing that when I was like, 4-5. Humanahumanahumana :D. PIXELATED BOOBIES!

The game is arkanoid (for c64)

  • OMG, thanks so much for bringing back so many memories!!!

Old school games i used to play when i were a lad.

Great Giana Sisters, Rainbow Island, Bubble Bobble, IK+, Beachy Head..... the list goes on!

  • What is music at 6:33 and at 7:13?

  • This video is amazing! I had a lot of those titles. I remember microprose soccer. They haven't made any better football game in many years on any system.

  • thanks, awesome memories. My favorite is "Racing Destruction Set" at 7:10.

  • das waren echt geile zeiten

  • Great video and great job.

    From France !

PS: one of the great memories is Joust (played on Atari 2600) it was a lot of fun.

  • Robocop at 7:40 great! classic Shinobi (7:58). It seems there is a James Bond's one, on the river with the firing overcraft.

I played the one at 8:15 on A500, was also great, didn't recall the name for now...

    Turrican at 9:01.

It looks like Zelda at 9:20 despite i didn't play it. I also had memories from lots of magazines.

Played wizball on Amiga but didn't recall the name until i read your comment.

I watched the video twice but didn't write chronologically ;)

  • 8:15 is Stunt Car Racer.

Check out the list under his profile "More From: C64Ring "

  • Some games seem to appear twice in the video. Carmen Sandiego, Volviev, Lemmings, Dungeon Master, the classic game with the frog (...), space invaders and clones.

Not sure if there is Bob Morane Ocean (around 5:02)

    Silkworm ? (at 6:25), didn't know the C64 existed

I played the one with the crododiles on C64 but didn't recall the name (6:50)

Didnt know there was pseudo-3D car racing game on C64 at this time (7:20) ^^

Rick Dangerous one of the most addictive game (played on Amiga) at 7:35.

  • It is not Silkworm, but Moon Patrol

  • I mix up the names of the flying/space shoot them up, vertical or horizontal scrolling like Xenon, P47, also the one with the torpedoes was very great.

It seems threre is "Fernandez must die" and perhaps "Dogs of war" but I only knew the Amiga versions.

Double Dragon, Golden Axe, Barbarian I and II, Ghosts'n Goblins

Zak Mac Kracken and Maniac Mansion.

Buble Bobble (one of the best platform game played on Amiga)

Great Giana sister, one of the best platform games.

  • It's around 25 years back. I only played C64 on my friend's one, then we both had an Amiga 500.

I particularly enjoyed Ghostbuster (1st on the video) and space taxi (8:05). I recognized lots of galmes and I wasn't aware that so many were alos developed on C64 as I plyaed most of them on A500.

There were lots of pinball at this time, pinball wizard for example.

    Boulder Dash

    buggy Boy lots of fun

Generally Sport simulations (skate (or die ?), bike, olympiad ...

  • 9:14

The game with the jumping ball

I think that's the one I've been looking for, for many years!!
