  • This is fantastic! Only one little thing, though.....it needs MORE COWBELL!!

  • To Vampyros1: Do your homework before you come to class. Jimi Hendrix himself told Peter Cetera that "your guitar player is better than I am."

  • A great band for a while.... When Terry Kath died the band really suffered. Not too long after that most of their stuff sounded like elevator music.

  • I like this since 40 years ago, and now I like the cowbells and the drumming

especially! Excuse me for spelling wrong!

  • @jazzjanne1 You are ok brother.

  • "Needs more Cowbell" - Bruce Dickenson

  • Cowbell solo starts at 3:06

  • Great song...but needs way more cowbell!

  • MORE COWBELL!!!!!!

  • Crazy percussion groove .. I love it

  • Incredible! I'm blown away

  • I remember seeing Chicago Transit Authority as a bar band. Imagine this tune within a jumping Chicago bar. Terry Kath was stellar, but don't under estimate the rest of the band. This cut doesn't draw on their full range strengths.

  • I got CTA in '71. It was my first record and it was the reason I started playing seriously. Terry Kath was playing over jazz changes cause that is what the band was doing. He was doing the feedback thing like all the others, but he was hanging with jazzers and no one was doing that back then at that level. He's the reason I started playing and have been for 40 years.. He is still the Man.

  • I just pissed my pants

  • they were a great band & who knows how good, or bad, they might have been had not Terry died so young. But it`s all subjective & what do I know I`m 59.

  • more cowbell

  • This is the Terry Kath band.

  • @Scumbagization And you are most full of shit.

  • @vampyros1 No, I'm not. This was when Chicago was an amazing band. The reason it was amazing? Terry Kath.

  • @Scumbagization Chicago WAS an amazing band, and largely due to the brilliant songs Robert Lamm contributed. They had 3 great vocalists, and to call it Kath's band because he was a fine player ignores all of that. The guitar soloing would have been mostly nonsensical without the compositional homes it resided in, and you'd have to be some kind of a musical fucktard to be ignorant of that.

  • @vampyros1 "The guitar soloing would have been mostly nonsensical without the compositional homes it resided in" Wow so you're really saying the best guitar player ever to live would have been lost without Lamm? Jesus Christ dude, get a clue.

  • Terry was the balls of that band. After him we got "If you leave me now" and " Baby what a big surprise", songs more suitable for Pat Boone....

  • wow....awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It amazing how they were all able to lock into a percussive groove. From the drummer to the horn players who do an amazing job of keeping time.

  • One of the all time great rock drummers. Not to start any Internet rumors, but I honestly always heard that the death was due to organized crimes involvement with the group in Chicago. Google it for more info. 

  • Terry was not playing russian roulette! His death was a tragic, unintended consequence of the mixture of drugs, alcohol and firearms. Terry lost his life because he acted irresponsibly and did so with a gun he thought was not loaded. How many of us do or have done crazy, dangerous or irresponsible things and lived to tell about it? Unfortunately, for his family and for all of us, he was not that lucky. God bless Terry and long live his amazing legacy.

  • @carina2244 - I was still a young girl when he died. I cried when I heard. Even back then I knew what an amazing musician he was.

  • They went downhill after Terry Kath killed himself playing Russian roulette.

  • @fgomarty

drugs do it all the time

  • Anthony Kiedis on tambourine!

  • Mind-blowing guitar work

  • Incredible.

Terry Kath's frantic guitar playing is amazing and not a bad voice either. I agree this is how they should be remembered, stunning live! 5*

  • Dig the cowbell!!!!!

  • This is the way Chicago should be remembered

  • second that definitely

  • I remember when my Dad got the first Chicago transit Authority album when i was about 9 years old. I wore that sucker out! It is still one of my favorites to this day.

  • This is what music is all about. Awesome post man!

  • With the complimentary drum solo for good measure!!!!! Bring back the drum solos!!!!!

  • @saanzacs Check out this drum solo with horn section:

    search youtube: Mifune, drum solo

I here that folks compare the sound of the Old Chicago with this horn driven band.
