  • very disturbing, it looks like this recession is just starting...

  • Goldman Sachs survived by cheating its customers. They knowingly sold super risky engineered bonds falsely rated as of the lowest risk to clients wanting low risk. They got the low risk rating by deliberately deceiving the raters.

For reference, Google: Moyers Black Wall St. Read the whole article.

Also, "The End, Portfolio Magazine, Dec 08-Jan 09 issue.

  • i'm not talikng about immoral use of force. on the contrary. militaries today are used as defense. they provide stablility and can be used to protect others. because our military is prominent we can ensure that our debts don't allow us to be taken over by force. we can also offer protection to others if they become oppressed due to their debts. if you provide protection, you are usually compensated very well through trade negotiations.

  • we cannot cut the military budget. we are a superpower because of our military, not in spite of it. many countries need protection around the world. as payment we shall recieve their assets on the cheap through free trade negotiations. iceland and ireland have debt as well, but they lack our military influence. they will suffer exponentially more for this very reason. the world responds to force over debt.

  • You mean a global Empire?

  • Pepe, MUCH Better Reporting than any Network. You said a lot in a little space, AND presented important valid questions! I hope you have much success!

  • I thought Usury was a crime.

  • Global Depression? Bring it on!

Time to upset the apple cart.

  • i tried being nice but you are simply an ignorant monkey, oo oo oo. Evolve you stink filled lazy waste of air. Its your kind of hate that will rot your soul. oo oo oo.

  • lol @2:25 "talk about the fucks guarding the henhouse..."

Hey, given enough rope, I thought the Capitalists were supposed to hang themselves - not the people.

  • At least whitey had the brainpower to invent the wheel.

  • I think you need a job and more than likely a shower.

  • this guy is unbelievable.

  • go bak to demark! jk informative

  • I'm holding MY breasts.

  • if you give the capitalists enough rope, they'll hang themselves with it.

  • But if you give the government the power to make decision for us, they hang us all, except themselves and the corporations they worked under.

  • yeah it is closer to facism but hey facism is the bastard child of socialism, just look at mussolini's career before 1921. Or the national socialist german workers party (Nazi Party) you don't get names more socialist than that.

  • Yes, because obviously we don't need to analyze movements or ideas beyond what name they give themselves.

  • Are you suggesting that rhetoric has become unimportant to politics? suggesting that a buzz word for hitler has no great significance as opposed to a buzz word for hippies? The images and words chosen in the political sphere are almost as important as the things themselves. Kennedy once said (paraphrasing) these days it's all about how things appear to be.

  • Actually, those groups were viciously anti-socialist. Mussolini and Hitler both formed groups to erradicate communist groups. Hitler even lumped communists with Jews in his propaganda. Pretty basic history.

  • yes that's true, but did you know mussolini worked for not 1, not 2, but 3 socialist newspapers, two of which he was the editor of, by 1919 he had turned his back on socialism but it was an obvious influence on his later life. And Hitler when he joined the nazi party said he was impressed by it as a "non-jewish" form of socialism. (Wiki it)

  • Historical figures from all sides have always switched from time to time from one ideaology to another. Now, some of us use actual scholarship instead of wikipedia for information, so I recommend "The Anatomy Of Fascism" by Robert O. Paxton and "The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich" by William L. Shirer. Both chronicle pretty well the differences between fascism and socialism and how Hitler, in his mania may have used the title, but very much hated and tried to crush Marxist tendencies at home.

  • Wait a second didn't this start with me agreeing with a point you made? What this video describes happening to the US economy is Fascism...ok?

  • My apologies.

  • All you guys calling this stuff socialism are dead wrong. It's actually closer to Fascism as defined by Mussolini: The fusion of the corporate and the state. I suggest you guys go read some books, start with the Portable Karl Marx and the Anatomy Of Fascism.

  • dude half of the posters are Americans, and I have noticed in the states socialism is seen as bad, and is on par with communism, and fascism, and then you can argue with a few douche bags on here who will say th eNazi's were socialist thus fascism = socialism based on their flawed logic. Trust me on this. Don't argue it's a waste of fucking time.

  • With the banks government owned, Obama doesn't need to go far to turn us into Cuba.

  • Cool. Great education system, and good doctors. I want that. :D

  • u idiot! we are a continent. cuba is an island!

  • TheRealNews,

    Another winner.

  • I wonder what Socialism and Communism fan boys think about their failed ideology now that they see their Capitalist enemies use it more savagely than them?

Can they deny it or admit it?

They have been doing this for a long time.

  • Seems to me that if Socialism were a failed ideology, the bankers would not use that to ail themselves out.

  • Well, if you are on the banksters' side, then it isn't so bad to use Socialism. But for the regular people, we are getting robbed once again.

  • socialism is good if used for people. If its used for corporations. Well that's actually what we call in this world that we live in Fascism. Of course you don't know the difference.

  • Real news please block ColonialismlsEvil he's destroying your blog

  • He is a racist resentful person, ignorant and hateful, disrespectful and impolite.

REAL NEWS, please BLOCK him, he says nothing but hateful racist speech.

  • Pepe Escobar is my new political idol!

  • Any one else noticed the picture of the G7 showed them wearing the same suit? Scary stuff... New World Order anyone?

Your Stomach will tell you to take the mark.

  • it disgusts me that a corporation is next to the name socialism.

  • all these problems all stem from the fact we dont use real money. its all fiat money that the government tells us is money.

but just like nature, the free market eventually wins and the world will soon revert back to using real money such as gold or silver

  • Mr. Escobar, I trust your word's of advice over ALL the newspaper's and media inside the United States of America. Thank-YOU and God Bless YOU in Love,Light&Peace.

  • lol troll

  • Shared.

  • you misunderstood my words.

  • My friend, those evil people in place right now are mostly white, but that doesn't make the whole white race evil. I hope you grow beyond immature racism, there is a more frightening enemy to freedom, peace loving people, like my white butt. Do your homework, look up Zechariah Sitchin and the Annunaki. I hope this opens your eyes. Bless you my friend. We are all in this together.

  • Cool man. I agree. Have you heard of "technocracy"?

    Calories, not dollars.

XVX for life, R.A.S.H. 'til death.

  • If Paulson were to reveal everything, he will be open to market shorting. Please stop making noise which serve no purpose at all. If you don't understand just stand and watch and see the picture develop.

  • picking up the millions from their coporate masters where else?

    VOTE NADER

  • shoulda listened to Lyndon Larouche. He's been calling a US financial derivatives crash, global depression since 2004.

  • the melt down will continue world wide as per NWO plan but some one will come forward after all hits bottom with the plan, and it will be to link all world economies together and that if we accept this all will return to someresemblance of stability if not turmoil will continue and who knows where we will end up.Remove the FED, World Bank, World Trade Organization, CFR, Trilateral Commission, and United Nations, forgive all debt and start over

  • Lyndon Larouche has been predicting this crash for more than 10 years... I think its time people paid attention to what the man has to say. Especially the media. Give him some air time...

    Check him out on Youtube!

  • Anyone who voted FOR the 'bailout' of these globalist kleptocrats qualifies as a TRAITOR to all humanity. Hear it from someone who knows best! Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power ~ Benito Mussolini

  • I have the strong feeling that this global meltdown comes not unexpected to some and is wanted by a few in order to reorganize global financial and governmental structures.

  • There is leadership. There is a discussion about the U.S. deficit and military budget. The mainstream media just isn't covering the man that's been talking about all of this. ...That man is Ralph Nader! ...Vote Nader. ...Vote third party.

  • esse sotaque brasileiro maravilhoso!

  • We need to bring back the Glass Steagal Act, stop monetizing the deficit, stop invading other countries, close our 700 military bases in 130 countries, leave the markets alone to deal with this shakeout and get on the gold standard, PRONTO.

  • To believe that the free market would self-regulate is the same as to believe that if the animals are set loose in a zoo they would behave nicely because the zookeepers would not bother them.

  • You just made my day.

  • except what is the basis of a free market.what is a free market?

    who is the zoo keeper?

does he have anyone's interests in mind but his own? justice can't be regulated into existance. people are sovereign beings. it's IN the u.s. constitution but not recognized?

no person or group of people can in reality regulate and impose on others persons, nor should they try, their idea of how things should be.

that's why all roads lead away from Rome. ........eventually.

  • abilityoflove:

You have a lyrical succinct way of cutting through the crap to the core of problem:D

  • Exactly. Global corporations are nothing but 'wild animals' looking for food. The last thing they are concern about is social justice and equal share.

  • a great analogy....

  • Free animals in the wild regulate themselves, just like the free market would. Putting the animals in a zoo or trying to regulate an ecosystem, is government intervention, and therefore, not "the wild". Having the government(which consists of around 500 partisan greedy lawyers in washington, to regulate a complex ecosystem like the global economy, is like having 500 insane zookeepers, one day they just put the giraffes in the tiger's cage because they thought their colors match.

  • I have to agree with you that the government is a bunch of insane zookeepers; it makes profound sense. Only if we could vote for a sane zookeeper

  • Ron Paul... he is endorsing Chuck Baldwin... At least check out ron pauls campaign for liberty.
