hahahaha wow. some of you commented on a video made 7 years ago as recently as a month ago. I couldn't even imagine wasting time trying to form an opinion about something so unimportant. That amp isn't even manufactured anymore. For the record: Ben Moody was a stupid kid high off his ass in 2003. What he said or didn't say to get free shit is profoundly inconsequential. I know... because I'm him. Side note to the genius judging the amp based on the audio on YouTube... You're special.......needs.
I've been on tour with my Vettas and in that time, I never ever had to pull out the backup Vetta. EVER. My other guitarist used JCM2000s and he had to bring three of them on tour in case one went down he still had a backup. His broke twice. Touring musician, I don't care, thats all that matters.
@MrFedoraJoe Lucky you, I've gone through 2 Vetta's in 6 years :(. Most likely my fault though, for never running them through power conditioners and playing through questionable power sources (storage units).
@3283gieni I personally prefer the Spider Valve, cuz i don't really like the way the highgain channels respond on the HD147.But i would still choose it over a Recto or 6505 or any of those "real" Metal amps, just because it's so easy to set up. You don't need tons of FX (seriously, NOBODY in an average audience is able to hear the difference between these fx and expensive stompboxes) and you can just plug it into the PA. no more sound techs to screw up your sound. live sound like in the vid ;)
@freaxxx right on man, I imagine if you put a Triple rectifier on stage with it turned on and use a HD147 for the actual sound, no one would be able to tell the difference at that volume.
but if you bought a good amp like a 6505..... youd be a little less gay.... line 6 is not pro..... line 6 is build for basement gadget bullshit guitarists.... get a 100w tube head.....
the only cool and useful thing line 6 makes are the stompbox modelers......
I bought it when I started to play and I didn't know anything about amplification. It sounds "fake", it seems a toy amp. The sound seems good at low volumes, but at hi volumes you can't listen to it...it's like a super-compressed-spongy-sound. Finally I sold it and I bought a monstrous Peavey 6505+, the best amp in this world for hard rock and metal.
Your videos are brilliant, such great playing. I have already asked about the possibility of using a Line 6 Spider IV 150 head with the Marshall 1912 cabinet, is the Spider IV 150hd compatible? I haven't actually purchased the Line 6 Spider IV head. Do you think I would be better off with the Line 6 147 hd, can you get a foot controller for the Line 6 147 hd, would the Marshall 1912 be better suited with the Line 6 147hd? Please I'm desperate for help, any help greatly appreciated
LOL dude i fucking dont care about the propaganda i know what i know and i know what i hear . you know i prefer only diezel and ENGL amps and i also saw , hear and play on them, and i also know the HD 147 and and the MK2 i know the differences plus engl and diezels are twice louder than line 6 digi amps plus the engl's invader and powerball tone satisfy me totally. BUT ye go on maybe after 20 years you will reach the level of a bogner or engl or any of the top level amp heads
i like the evanescence but...have these guys played any good amps? peavey 6505+? bogner? vht? diezel? like what the hell? these guys have tons of money, and they have cheap equipment..they could sound so much better..
@ScArKiLLa45 yes they have. Ben has recently been using Mesa Heads. John the other original Ev guitarist has used marshalls in his early days and mesa stiletto duece's for a long time while in evanescence and when he left. Currently John is using EVH 5150 MK3's and Ben is using both a Mesa head and the hd147 for We Are The Fallen.
cool, and I imagine you also prefer typewriters over computers and telegraphs over telephones
Get over yourself. With today's technology, tube amps are just archaic pieces of crap that have the sole purpose of making you pay too much money for "good tone"
These companies pay popular bands to use tube amps so that people think that they need to spend $10,000 to get the tone that they want. But honestly, they break easily and the tone is never consistent. shit.
@PKNproductions Peavey Ultra Plus, XXX, 5150, and 6505 are all tube amps. The Krankenstein is a tube amp. These are all incredible, and those Peavey's are about $500. You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground.
@TinyKurds I could get that tone out of a piece of shit Spider. You're wasting your money. A $500 tube amp has a tone comparable to a $200 modeling amp.
@PKNproductions I am actually getting this amp, but I still don't think it's as good as those other Peavey and Mesa head's (although Mesa is really expensive).
