It's kinda a story game you see. It's about a underdog working through his way through bigger and much more powerful opponents.

You know, I just thought of a great secret! What if there was a secret in which having the orginal Punch-Out!! on your virtual console would unlock some sort of secret, like say NES sound test or extra boxers or maybe even secret boxers in multiplayer! And there could even be different secrets for Super Punch-out!

Well, I've got both of them on my Wii after 4.0 finally got a workable Homebrew Channel installer and did just this. After getting both NES versions and the SNES version, there's nothing new from what I've seen.

It's a P-O thing that it start easy and get very difficult later on.

You can also unlock a Hard Mode.

The patterns to beat the boxers aren't exactly the same as before. Also once youve completed Minor,Major and World circuits, you have to defend the belt against all the opponents again. Only this time they are alot tougher and have different attack strategies, so although punchout ets will probably finish the game quite easily, it's when you have to defend the world belt against them all again that the challenge comes into it, even 2nd Glass joe is tough.(even for vets initially)

As far as I know he has some kind of devastating punch where he uses both hands. Other than that I think he's the same and still goes down after one knockdown.

If you want the same controls as the nes version, you hold the wii remote sideways and punch with 1 and 2.. or you can play it like wii boxing :) hope that helps!

No, but you get three options:

1 Punch with the nunchuck and remote ( hold the stick up to punch their face.

2 Hold the remote sideways and play it exact like the orginal Punch Out.

3 If you also have a Balance Board you can use it to dodge too.

Don't thouch the control stick to block the body, hold it up to block and punch face and any other way to dodge.

the snes version is amazing. so was nes punch out. the snes had the option of attempting to knock out the opponent for 90% of the opponents in under 10 seconds. hard to do but loads of fun if you can. They are both equally great in their own ways.

I dunno, if you had great timing, you could initiate that on the old NES too by a dodge/quick back at the exact moment your opponent attacked, best practice for that is on Flamingo in the first round. Right after his counter if you did it right you slapped his face around about 12 times before he could respond.

I can't believe what I'm seeing here. I knew this game was going to be great when I first learned about it's existence, but this proves it still has the twitchy, spot on gameplay that made the original and Super Punchout fantastic titles. Must buy game and lets hope it leads to sequels!

This reminds me of the time I was playing super punch out on snes, I was getting pumped and yelled out "Ya is that all you got pussy!"
