  • ....von mc5 geklaut, trotzdem ne klasse nummer!!!!!

  • If ever there was a time for revolution, it is NOW...!!!!

  • Great stuff. Although it did distress my border collie.

  • except to say that The Darkside weren't a Spacemen 3 spin off.

  • Mudhoneys version was quite FUNNY

  • It's Black To Comm by the MC5

  • @starkweather444 Shut up ass hole why dont you just lay ont he floor and enjhoy it dikc.

  • A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

  • its rock n roll please refrain from other comments and live a little or a lot man

  • Sonic Boom is a dead-ringer for a young Robert Smith of The Cure

  • awesome

  • " And I’m tired

    I’m so tired

    Of a lot of people

In a lot of high places "

    you said it.

  • well I'm sick, I'm sooo sick, of a lot of people...

  • How Come The Chart Show did not have a video of this - i wish they had this promo instead.

  • mp3iiiiify now lets you grab cd-quality VEVO videos and HD YouTube videos to convert into mp3s. AWESOME> google mp3iiiiify.

  • Rare live Spiritualized videos on my channel!!!

  • Still cool as F**k.. Walking with Jesus is a bit awesome too

  • amazing!!

  • any Darkside vids on here?

  • coolest video ever made

  • i eat me first soup of krötenschleim with pudding from unborn tintfishbabys and we play the last dances of rübezahl near the tower of ost-berlin and wishes come true and we lost the braincells and ratcaces foundet in the lost bruchstückchen von der berliner mauer, damals, ach war das schön....

  • Took my first whole Tab of Acid when Playing with fire was first released never been the same since their best album was perfect prescription.

  • Do these two still hate each others guts??.

  • fans of this band should check out Canadian band The Peter Parkers...(NO i am NOT a member) - they are just fantastic and carry the flag of S3...

  • Brill group but Loop were so much better. Anyone who likes the Spacemen should check them out :-)

  • oh noes he said loop were better. lets all give him thumbs down. fucking babies. loop were better

  • Loop were brilliant too, but a different animal - I remember seeing Spacemen 3 at the Warehouse in Leeds and the audience were sitting on the floor nodding their heads, then the next night at St. Georges Hall in Bradford Loop was a hair-waving frenzy (as it usually seemed to be - I must have seen them about 5 times there in the early 1990s) - Spacemen 3 were more monged-out, but no harm in that :)

  • Black to comm rocks! This is MC5 ripoff ... but ...it's a good song

  • i wouldnt say ripoffs more than it was just heavily influenced more of their songs are more laid back....on one of their albums though they do an excellent instrumental version of starship

  • Yeah - I have seen them once - live in the eighties and heard all their songs ... They're good ....but I still think they ripped off MC5, Suicide etc

  • damn youre lucky to see spacemen 3.....by the way suicide is one of the most underrated bands ever.

  • I'm old :-) ..was at Uni ...and they weren't that big at the time ...it was only after they split that people knew about them ....

  • yeah im only 17... ive noticed on some other spacemen 3 music videos on this site was that they were getting mtv airplay when recurring was released

  • IT IS ALSO A FAUST RIPOFF ...MAYBE

  • "It takes five seconds . . . five seconds of decision . . . five seconds to realise your purpose here on the planet . . . I give you a testimonial - the MC5!"

I love Spacemen 3, and I am pretty sure they got some of this from the clip before one of the live MC5 recordings that I posted above.

  • shut yer hole ,mon the the spacemen!

  • Comment removed

  • Saw Spectrum last night. The best show since Spiritualized 6 years ago! The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco still delivers!

  • I smell burning And I see a change Comin round the bend And I suggest to you That it takes Just five seconds Just five seconds Of decision To realise That the time Is right To start thinkin about A little Revolution!
  • mmmmmmmmm............ In this moment, I`m remeber to Hawkwind

  • I thought of Hawkwind immediately too, very similar, and just as good as their early stuff.

  • im there too, that guitar sound.

  • Just five seconds!

  • Thanks. Pound that chord! :-)

  • Unforgettable stuff.

  • this music vid is sick.... like the guy in the vid says 'im sick'

  • Maybe some of you should look into finding The Darkside "a Spacemen3 spin-off" which featured Pete Bassman, Pete Kember, Nick Hayden, and maybe Rosco too, but I can't remember off the top of my head. They sounded similar to earlier Spacemen3. Because by that time, Spacemen started to slowly develop into Spiritualized. Where as The Darkside maintained the "original" Rugby sound! Their CDs are out of print. And the live album is a collectors item! "Are You For Real" was one of their best songs

  • thats right, the Darkside were absolutely great

  • didn't know about darkside

    thanks pal!

  • shut it!

  • Why don't you go shut-it! Fact is, "The Darkside" were the best of any remnants that came from Spacemen3's demise!

  • agree, the darkside put out quality stuff in Spacemen style

  • @blacklightposter FECKIN POSH KIDS FROM RUGBY

  • I saw Darkside on several occasions - the uncle of a friend of mine was in the band and we would go along to the Duchess in Leeds whenever they were on. Somewhere I also have the albums (on cassette, I think) but goodness knows where....I might take a look...

  • @blacklightposter absolutely, The darkside were fantastic. Nick is a great bloke too, after he left The Darkside he formed a band called Flite 118 which I eventually joined on bass when I was just 17. It didn't last long but that was a great chance. We played The Darkside songs. One of my favourite tracks I can't get hold of now though was called "Ocean Of Fire".

  • @blacklightposter I´m fan of spacemen 3 as some of my fiends are too, Spacemen 3 is cult classic, a visionary band while Darkside sounds just like a cool sixties psychodelic revival band. I heard Darkside few times and i don´t remember a single song. They had a very generic sound, nothing like spacemen 3. Spiritualized 2 first albums were awesome, now are plain boring. To me the spiritual succesor is Sonic Boom/Spectrum.

  • Just rediscovering Spaceman 3. Thanks for posting. Great pysch sound and very atmospheric. Cheers!

  • iggy sound

  • fucking choke on glass and die in ur sleepp!!!!! hahah

We were wayyyy cool ... :-)

  • Sag mal, kennen wir uns? Auto- und Musiktechnisch ist das eine volle Übereinstimmung. In der Zeit jedenfalls. Wo kommst Du her?

  • Pyschdelic velvet stooges A+.

  • wicked stuff love them 5*

  • i bought this on 12 inch. came with a poster and the b side was the complete opposite to this. an almost melodic tune called just to see you smile. both brilliant songs

  • Yeah remember you singing it

  • this is

    so fuzzy

  • Spacemen were the first band my friends and I heard on LSD. It changed our world. In most cases for the better.

  • i always loved this too. i never knew whey they from tho. can someone tell me?

    thanks

  • they were from Rugby, England!

  • changed my life back in the eighties. still use it instead of drugs.

  • This takes Me back to a time when me and my mates used to drink mushroom tea and watch the landscape channel.

  • No fucken way...this is too good. What the fuck is this....? Ah discovery...I'm way tooooo late no doubt.

  • no way dude, this shit is timeless

  • Plus one of the guys is in a band right now called Spiritualized. They're great. I saw them in Atlanta tonight!

  • To tomestokes, sonicjay007 and wuiceman: Fuck off. I would give anything to have been alive in the 60s, 70s and 80s, but how DARE you pidgeonhole all music produced at the moment.

You're probably just too fucking old or out of touch to know about all the decent stuff being produced all around the world.

Music (past and present) is the greatest invention of man, but it's pricks like you who have to spoil it.

  • check the MUDHONEY version of this track shit hot

  • Mainline (RIP) performed a fine version of this stomper of a tune. You're right folks, tough to find an real passion in bands these days.

  • Nice song with a message. We need more stuff like this today. Greetz from Frankfurt, Germany.

  • I SECOND YOUR EMOTION'TOMESTOKES'also the young generations today are too fucking distracted and lazy for any 'REVOLUTION'S...

  • No soul left in music today.

For all the Fk'd up Children of the world we give you, Spaceman 3.

  • Estoy enfermo

  • major flash back of being wankerd, dancin so drunk i lost my shoes and stole a Mudhoney album - just because it had a version of this tune on it .Thanks for the memory!

  • this fuckin' band is awesome!

  • am sick!

  • Heh, heh, I love this!! Really takes me back. It's real pantomime, stamp-your-foot, anger - but great at the time. Students, eh?

  • the first time i heard this my first thought was:" what an impudence!" Some minutes later i knew it really was... and i love it!!! Gets *****!

  • Fry!

  • The root cause of my tinnitus was Dingwalls 1988 with My Bloody Valentine supporting. Enjoyed the fire breathers and dwarves though - not literally.

  • fucking yes!

  • I like!

  • YEAH>>>>>L00k OUT.

    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8

  • too fine for you

  • I've just uploaded mudhoney covering revolution live in 1989. check it out. it does it justice. look 4 mudhoney revolution chester.

  • Yeah man it's brilliant! have you heard Spacemen 3's cover of When Tomorrow Hits?

  • Actually Mudhoney altered their lyrics to parody the Spacemen's drug usage. The Spacemen supposedly didn't find it funny.

  • Scar has got an almighty length.

  • yeah. revolution. that's what we need. throw the bums out, all political "parties" suck a filthy dildo.
