  • Bro----you are a VERY BAD MAN!! MAD Props on this! The synth sounds during the hook are SPOT ON!! Awesome job! God bless!

  • The riffs at 2:47 and 3:00 made me tingle. And once it hit 3:28, I was in auditory heaven. Fantastic work, you knocked it out of the park. This is sitting right in my music playlist :)

  • Damn he's a bad man, a very bad man :) Dude you got major skills, are you a professional keyboardist?

  • hi very good demo, could you please send me the midi file of pyt i am a big fan

  • i honestly thought you were playing to the real orig recording. Then when the vocals never came in I wonder how you got the instrumental. Then saw the whole thing was remade. Excellent job. :) early-mid 80's funk is the best for me too.

  • killed it man!!!

  • holy shit wat lekker gegrooved!

  • Nice..

  • Beautiful sound! Moog bass rulez!

  • Veri nice! I love that Moog stuff!

  • good work !

  • how are you guys getting that crazy rate on your lfo with your modulation wheel? sheesh this is funky man.

  • My only criticism is that this bass could be fatter. Even if you account for all the enhancements of a professional studio, I am guessing your settings are different from the original, which uses a Minimoog. I can only guess maybe your filter or emphasis is too high.

Not in any way a reflection on your skills, which are considerable.

Oh shit! that riff at 4:06 was dope!

  • EXCELENTE!!!! Thanks!!!

  • YOU BLOW ME AWAY!

  • Thanks a million.

The second video on my channel called "Unsyncable" is mine.

There's another track coming up this week, so stay tuned.

  • I've seen several of your videos; all of them are superb. Do you have any original music? I would love to hear it.

  • 2:47 is DIS-GUS-TING! great playing :)

  • Man U killed it all the way. Respect I enjoyed it. All yours equipment OMG thats my dream to have it all. What about to produce your own songs???

  • @mirkuskus

Check out the first track on my channel.

    It's called "Unsyncable".

Thanks for watching, glad you liked it.

  • Hey, great cover, really good. Everything is perfect, especially the bassline ^^

I have a question though, what did you use for the choir at the beginning ? there is an envelope trick but which one ? and from what is it coming ? synclavier ? or may be your own voice ? thx

  • @johncrotte

It's a vocal sample combined with a bell type sound, set to legato and with portamento.

  • "watch out for those glisses!" lol- i found this independently of our scritti conversations, and realized it was you only after watching, duh! Figures we have the same tastes as usual- this is my FAVE MJ tune cause of the rhodes chords and the MOOG BASS, mate!

  • wow !

  • This is a masterpiece from begining to end. Wow. In fact each one of your videos are miniature masterpieces onto themselves. Hats off man, you are a true talent!!

  • @pmsan29

Thank you for you kind words.

I would have been a true talent if I had written and arranged these songs as well.

    Thanks for watching my vids.

  • Nice and tight....if interested in a sweet gig overseas in ASIA hit me up

  • R A D !!!

  • 3:54, The note slide is so perfect! If you don't want that minimoog anymore, can you give it to me for free? (j/k)

  • great job man, that model d is bangin

  • true

  • Gene,

As you can read from your cheeks from 4:03 to 4:18 this is the best part and seems to be a lot fun to perform. I wish I could do this. If you do a 120 fps video it might be possible....

    Well done!

  • Da Bomb, Deze shit is Real! Ga zo door!!

  • Enjoyed!

  • excellent!!! briliant!!!!!!

MJ would´ve worked with you, thats for sure...so much details, so much love, so much heart....

or like bruce said, "You don't listen to the equipment, you listen through the equipment." ...

you really do a great job! you could go on tour with your repertoire!

it would be fantastic to hear your sound (moog, proph. 5) through a big PA System

  • Respect, this is great--I love the feel and sense of phrasing you are bringing, and the whole production is superb.

At the coda I think I see a big grin on your face too, which kind of says it all really.

  • It fascinated how light do You play all this licks. Very precise and fat this licks and You play it so easy and light. Great! And all this ghost notes and interesting rhytmical-percussive solutions. Respect man :).

  • @chrisbern75

    Thanks mate...

The only explanation I have for my rhythmic playing and ghost notes is because I am originally a drummer.

Playing the bass on a synthesizer is a whole new thing for me and a great new adventure and venture.

It's really like having a 44 note drumkit.

They're just switches, so there's no need to bang them.

The Minimoog's envelopes are also super tight and snappy, which is great for those ghost notes.

I think bassplayers call them "Stop Notes".

  • Great performance Geene! The coda part is fantastic. Really concert feeling. James Ingram? Are You sure? I thought the Minimoog-Bass-Player was on P.Y.T. Greg Philingenes...

  • @chrisbern75

    Thank you.

    No, I'm not sure, it's a guess.

Some licks are very similar to Yah Mo Be There, which James Ingram plays.

  • staggeringly amazing G. Perfection!! Put Moog in the title mate and you'll get 1000's of views :) Great work G. Added and extra funk to this track..

  • @jonannlou

Thanks mate, it wouldn't be worth a chunk without the funk.

  • a masterpiece as always, great playing, great mix, great video !!

  • @kryptonenz

Thanks, getting compliments from talented fellow musicians is always nice.

  • I love these MJ bass along videos,,,Great!
