  • Absolutely stunning! Im in Drawing at my highschool and wer're working on roses so the floral pieces are really a great inspiration! Im working on a large portfolio before i plan to set up a small website to show the world!

  • @alucardaj Why thank you so very much. One you get your site up, send me the url. I look forward to viewing your work. Thank you again, Valerie.

  • @tybrown46 I sure will!

  • Hi! I'm thirteen, one day I hope to be as good as you!

  • I like my drawings to look like paintings although requires more work, I put a lot of emphasis in detail andalso in what kind of paper I use, sometimes it takes me a week to finish one but I use the whole sheet of watercolor paper smooth press.

  • Nice work. An artist friend made an absolutely stunning country scene using Crayola colored pencils and a $1 Rose Art paint set I had laying around the house. It convinced me the art supplies are secondary.

  • Yes, I agree. Your friend has a natural talent which is a wonderful gift.

  • Oh wow, these are amazing! No words can describe! How long have you been drawing?

  • You're too kind. I have been drawing for over 44 years and thank you.

  • its sounds like sims some how

  • Goodness gracious you are really good! you make me look like a total amuetar ( sorry if i spelled amuetar wrong)!!!

  • Very nice work but the video was a waste of time for me. I like it when artists actually show us something...a technique possibly? Artists are a dime a dozen these days....very good ones I might add so showing off should be saved for your website.

  • Hello - Thank you for your comment. I'm sorry that you feel that the animation represents me as showing off. If others viewers feel that way, I wish that they would let me know. I will consider toning the animation down. As far as your remark, artist are a dime a dozen, that might be so in your eyes but if that is so, I am thankful that there are so many out there sharing their Gods blessing of creativity and a gentle heart onto others. Thank you again.

  • May I add my two cents? I don't think you should tone the animation down. Maybe what the previous poster meant was that it would be interesting to see more of your process and learn from you.

  • I like all different types of videos about art, there are plenty showing technique if that is what you are looking for. Some people like to see some of the artists work, and appreciate the end product without seeing the process.

And yes, artists are a dime a dozen - but the really good ones?? Much more rare.

  • do u have a deviant art account?

  • this is sooo good. i go to an arts high school and i wish i saw this for inspiration...i already finished my floers in prisma color pencils. Now we are doing fruits in water colors :)

  • Tarika4ever -

Gosh, Im sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but Ive been really busy.

Your message to me was quite flattering and Id like to see some of your work.

I wonder if youve continued to follow my website and my latest work. Im just about finished with a watercolor of mountain goats. Hope you like it and hope you are well.

    Valerie

  • awsome! nice flowers they are cool did you use prisma color pencils? it looks like you did ,but at the same time it looks like you used regular pencils ... anyways nice work its very good ^_^ :D

  • I apologize for not replying sooner. Yes, I am a Prismacolor fanatic. I use a mechanical pencil to sketch out my subject and then use the color. :)

  • In addition, the work is created entirely in colored pencil. Visit Ms. Lloyd's workiing studio/gallery in Virginia and you can see her at work.

  • thats pretty awesome

  • Dang! I'm so jealous!

  • No need to be. Ms Lloyd's has been drawing since she was 4 years old. She has said many times, anyone can draw if they just work at it.

  • Thank you. I am quite flattered. Are you an artist and if so, how long have you been drawing, painting? The joy is in the doing.

    Valerie

  • Very well done! Lovely artwork!

  • Thank you so much. Where do you live? I live in northern Virginia, outside of Leasburg, Virginia where I have my studio and gallery and would look forward to seeing you whenever you are in the area. Thank you again, Valerie.

  • You are most welcome.

Right now, I live in Ontario, Canada's cottage country, sometimes I'm in Toronto.

  • how did you do those!!!!:)

  • Ms Lloyd creates with Prismacolor Premier Lightfast Colored Pencils colored pencil and depending on the effect she is hoping to achieve; she either draws on hot press watercolor paper or cold press 300lb watercolor paper.

  • Disciple254 -

Not sure abou -t what youre referring, the animation or the art work. Just let me know and I would be happy to explain as clearly as possible.

    Valerie

  • i want you to film you drawing one of those and post in going 7x fast

  • A script is currently in production which will features Ms. Lloyd demonstrating some of her colored pencil techniques. When complete, the video will be posted to her site. Thank you for your response.
