There's something I don't get. In the show, when Bardock blasted (and failed at it) Frieza in space, how was he even able to breathe? Because Frieza is one of the only beings in the universe who can survive in space, he even said that himself in one episode when he was fighting Goku in Namek, "Saiyans can not survive in space. Only I can!"... or something like that.

In my opinion Bardock SSJ I't a great idea that should be included, but SSJ3 it's not realistic at all. That's why just Broly and vegeta got SSJ3 as what if transformations, because they ARE realistic so just the most powerful saiyans can reach that power.

I can go on all day talking about how bardock could have outmatched frieza, at the time you don't know frieza's powerlevel. His power level was stated 30 years later on namek, so you never now. Chances are bardock might have won if he was at full power. 50/50 chance. But even kid vegeta's power level nearly exceeded 10,000 so......

But you can also assume it was higher than that when he fought frieza because of his nears death experience with dodria. Bardock was also weaker because of dodria which lowered his power. There is no relation, but guaranteed almost all low class are related, it is never stared therefore they are not relatives. But bardock seems to know him, which is proven when he battles gohan in one of tenkaichis he says "are you turles son?"

Turles has no relation to goku. He was meant to be a kind of "what-if" character if goku never hit his head. He even explains in his movie why they look alike. All low class saiyans have the same face structures and sometimes hair styles. It is how they where distinguished from elites. Some believe turles is actually elite because he can use the powerball technique, ( which is believed to be invented by bardock, yet he cannot use it in any game.)
