So looking forward to London 2012 :)...you were picked as "THE" place to host the biggest most enjoyable event in our existence and "THE" place that the world wants to be.

I know some worry about the traffic, cost and so on, but this is especially the time for you to be proud of who you are and your great nation. Seeing happy, smiling faces and genuinely proud crowds in stadiums makes the Olympics that much more special.

After the brilliant Vancouver games it make me sad that Britain will probably get it so wrong. You just know that the 2012 opening ceremony will be some god awful multicultral, politcally correct mishmash of street culture and hoodies doing breakdaning next to images of london buses mixed in with Banksy who has finally revealed himself doing his version of that embrassing olypmpic logo. You have been warned!!!

@Lovatt67 Don't worry trust me. If you look globally the UK media is by far the most deprecating and self-deprecating. No matter how the Olympics go, I am 100% sure the vast majority of Canadians will enjoy watching them or attending them, and similarly with the world.

You will def. hear negative coverage (e.g. UK Guardian) as we did for Vancouver 2010 :(, but London is one of the greatest cities in the world, and the UK one of the greatest nations, so they CAN'T mess it up.

At the end of the Canadian games, many said that people felt more proud to be Canadian and showed more pride in their country.

Will the London 2012 games make us all more proud to be British and bring communities and the country together?

I certainly hope so, sadly i think it may end up to be a complete disaster and fail in this task.
