  • Where are the Christians? why are they not building churches?

  • @786junaki hello there again after a long time, this is a Christian country there are churches everywhere, some are being used others are not and there isnt the need for more churches, especially because the number of practicing Christians is lower then what it used to be, the world also has a lower number of practicing Muslims then what it used to be, for that matter. People should not build places of worship for the sake of it, if there is a need then I guess thats ok.

  • @786junaki,

    your site is unavailable, why?

  • Despite my negative views and thoughts about Bengalis specially around Tower Hamlets I do agree that immigration has helped towards one thing and that is reducing racism. It still exists in many parts of the UK but where there are too many ethnic minorities u wont find white racists about. Only your kind of people getting along. But I cant help feeling we are being swamped by immigrants from all over the world due to our welfare system and free education and housing.

  • You should travel it helps to open up the mind, maybe you lived in Tower Hamlets all your life, but i can assure you, you wont have the confidence to walk on the streets after 9pm in most parts of London like that way you can in Whitechapel, even after 12 midnight. I know this cos I spoke to plenty of non- Muslim non-Bengali women, and man for that matter. Lets put the hate to a side and try to be objective.

  • Bangladeshi illegal immigrants & those who come under false pretence 4 studying and marriage make me sick. Go back to your poverty land and keep your families over there. No more housing no more benefits.

  • @786junaki

immigration, migration, chain migration are common amongst all immigrate communities, you are acting like as if Bengalis are flooding the UK but forget the government stats again. In the UK there are 1.4 million Pakistanis 1.4 mil Indians, Arabs 1.3 mil. (in France Arabs are 6 million) Bengalis in the UK are only 0.5 mil. you do the math as to who is doing chain migration and who is fleeing their poverty stricken or bomb stricken countries.

  • @786junaki

al most every other Muslim community are triple in number to Bengalis and you are acting like as if Bengalis are the problem, let me remind you that most of the bombers and attempted suicide bombers are Pakistani and to a lesser number weve seen Arabs, Somalis and Indians, and none of them were Bengalis. So pls dont go lifting your nose up, I do have something to be proud of but you obviously dont.

  • There is high unemployment here within the Bnagladeshi community nothing to be proud of. They rather bury their heads in the religion then go study or work. The restaurant guys are "badmash" dirty bastards. Most of them married but sleep with the customers they pull inside. They drug dealers and alcoholic. Illigal immigrants working mainly and some r working and claiming benefits. Reality whether u admit it or not.

  • @786junaki

Actually, check out the government stats, you will see that Bengali pupils are out performing many ethnic groups in education, they are level with white, and Bengali girls are out performing white girls. and check your own ethnic groups performances out and come back to me, just for your information all muslim communities are facing social issues, i think i remember you saying your also of mulsim background so just look at your own community.

  • Its really funny that Muslims around tower hamlets live amongst the infadels. Build mosques and madrashaas. But you r not following the religion buy the book as we have no sharia law in this country. So its Islam and western culture binding together is it? Personally I prefer this way I would hate to have to be forced into wearing a burka and pray and get me head chopped off 4 the slightest wrong thing I say or do.

  • So you admit the crazy fanatics are Muslims but dont live in tower hamlets? Not all Muslims are terrorist but all terrorist are Muslims. Its a shame but I wonder why they become l ike this considering their parents left their own country of poverty behind to live here and raise them in a country with good education and employment prospects but now they hate the infadels. Traitors.

  • If most Muslims condone violence and want to show that Islam is peaceful then they must show that they are against the fundamentalist and extremist Muslims. Most of them don't work and they expect handouts thinking its from god not the taxpayers of this country supporting them.

  • @786junaki

Maybe this is a true portrayal for you, your family and friends but please do not generalises, especially knowing that the 7/7 bombers and most terrorists are not from the local Tower Hamlets Community. So pls sort out your ppl and stop including all Muslim communities into your fanatical camp.

  • @786junaki

Yes thats why we are against their extremism, and thats why most of the fanatic suicide bombers are not from our ends.

  • Mosques are a haven to brainwash people and make them become racist towards the non-Muslims. My Bro keeps calling them kaffir and infadel. I wonder if he would like it if he was called a paki?? They teach them the words of the Quran which has no tolerance or integration and teaches Jihad which gives them the green light to kill in the name of Islam. Yet Muslims all around want to live in the West not their Muslim country how typical.

  • It's kind of weird because restaurants are struggling to bring in the punters and making any profit yet there is a huge minaret costing thousands of pounds. How is this suppose to help towrds regenerationan and tourism? Anyways if the government got money for this, they better not complain they have not got money for other important services.

  • Abseiduk- when the Jews left this place it was a complete S**t hole. Then the Bengalis came in looking for cheap accommodation in rundown flats. I remember coming down to the brick Lane area back in 1988 there were only Bengalis in these areas hardly any whites. Since then, the Bengali community has worked hard to really change image of Tower Hamlets. Today it is seen as an attractive place to live and work, thats why there is a white-flight back into the area.

  • Unlike am sure all the commentators on this blog I actually live in Brick Lane and i have to say good luck to the mosque and its building works. The Bengali community who are the custodians of Brick Lane and Tower Hamlets are a peaceful people who are simply enjoying their democratic rights and if people still have a problem then i guess they should come down here in person and express it to the local youths. Thanks.

  • i saw this when it was already up it was quite breathtaking, a very beautiful piece of modern architecture that went well with an old Georgian building, there was no other way of blending the two except through the use of stainless steal giving a chrome finish which from the edges look almost gray blending into the background of an older grayish brick building. Two thumbs up for who every was behind it.

  • Suppose to bring in more tourism will it work? How can they justify spending this much money on something that benefits only religion not anything else i.e. schools, hospitals, jobs??

  • It looks very modern and pretty but..............was it worth £510,000.00 to spend money on?
