orpheus. Your a black pot, accusing a tea kettle of being black. Im glad you can use these forums to vent. wtf does class have to do with anything. Class of character is what matters. Jesus, wtf is wrong with you? haha
Iggy in this song reminds of my dog, like when I have to clean his paws after a walk and he just dont care cause he has a yearning inside to go mop himself on my couch.
Home town detriot. meet me at the pharmacy, or grocery store, or wherever. then I beat the living shit out of you. Then, you get to call yourself a Stooges Fan. I think you should follow Bad Company... or Air Supply. You are going to need air. /what are you doing here anyway?
Iggy pop restera l'icône du rocker sous acide , il bondit là où on ne l'attend pas... the stooges groupe qui le fit prendre son envol est un groupe incontournable pour tout amateur de rock quel qu'il soit.
In John Lydon's autobiography No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs ("Johnny Rotten" of the Sex Pistols to those who don't recognize the name) he tells of how his mother would go up in his room and listen to his records when he was gone. One of her favorites? The Stooges' FUN HOUSE album. This was in the Seventies.
@soopawhoops Why? just because thy had an influence on Iggy that doesn't mean they weren't a bunch of pretentious wankers. They were a group of middle class pricks pretending they were lowly working class heroes and as for Morrison's "poetry" most of it WAS pretentious unintelligible acid, alcohol, heroin, raving CRAP only "understood" by other pretentious wankers.
There are so many things wrong with what you're saying, but the biggest is the obvious: middle class is just as much a victim of classism and stratification as the lower class. Fuck, I;m not even sure there's any real distinction in a country where over 80% constitute the 'middle class'. So how about you judge substance rather than cast aspersions, eh buddy?
That being said, they were most of the time pretentious wankers:p
@DominoGray Middle classes in the US dont make up over 80% of the population. There are a vast majotity of working class people who are middle class aspirants and no matter how much they want it they will always be working class. Class is something one are born into and once born into it one is in it for life no matter how much one tries and pretends they are something else. It is not about perceived gained status or money. There is in the US as in Britain distinct class divisions all the way up
This. I read a few days ago that about 35% of Americans are either in poverty or at borderline poverty.
You're also right about the way the class system is set up. The class system in America works so when you're born into a certain class bracket you are pretty much doomed to remain in that class until the day you die.
There are only a few great American rock and roll bands (the Beach Boys are pop and they are the world's best). #1 Ramones; #2 Stooges; #3 MC5; #4 New York Dolls; The Doors. BTW: Jimi Hendrix is not a band, Jimi is an entire genre.
Dude totally will bang someone to this song once haha. Bringing back memories. Just heard another song that reminded me of this. It was called like I just want to be in love by The electric flamingos or some other gay name like that
they weren't liked or played much because they were considered angry, raw, primitive and their music was considered too hostile to the basic ways in which people were supposed to relate with others in a "civilized" society. In other words people did not want to be REAL and feel RAW PAIN!
I still really think that the stooges deserve a better credit for the music they have made. i simply dont understand why they arent as known as other 60s 70s bands..

In 1970 I was hospitalized, in a place outside Ann Arbor called Mercywood, a privately run psychiatric hospital. We talked the nurses into letting us listen to it, in the one-on-one room where patients met with their shrinks. I was heavily medicated, and this music weaved in and out of my consciousness. Like lava coursing thru subterranean caverns.
