The weird thing is, I just saw your account name on the vid thing and I clicked on it. I didn't look at the name or anything and as soon as I saw it, I was like, "Dude! That's a modle from Sir Peter getting hanged in his bloody bag! Poor little rabbit!" then I realized what the vid was about and I was like, "Holy crap that cool!" XD
No, It's not the Sir Peter chapter (except for the animation).
No. I saw an opinion expressed recently that the hanged doll was Sir Peter, but I don't recall seeing anybody present any evidence or argument to support that idea before.
Jennifer tells us in the Once Upon A Time chapter that Peter was the rabbit that Wendy cared for. Sir Peter, however, might be a symbolic confusion of the rabbit with Mr. Hoffman. We'll explore this possibility in a future video.
I have to compliment you on the quality of your videos. Well thought out and the way you present your evidence is really helpful and organized. Keep up the great theories! I really need to replay this.
Thanks! I have some good theory videos (IMHO) in mind for presenting in the future. As soon as I expand my capacity for game-saves, and master the video-making software, I'll be able to get more sophisticated, and things should get even more interesting.
See my response (Comment #2) to your longer re-statement (and clarification) of this question that you posted in the comment-thread associated with this video on my blog-site.
Clara was hanged up by rope as you fight her in the mermaid boss battle and sir peter was hung up as well, perhapse those two events got fused together in Jenifer's memories.
Could sir peter be Hoffman's personal pet like what jenifer might think clara was?
What deaper meaning could it be to hang a Teddy bear (who stands in for Joshua, the prince of rose).
Only the "Monthly Present: Filthy Jennifer" would make any sense in that, but still a rabbit would make more sense in every way, since it's a rabbit that gets hanged in the Sir Peter chapter.
It does look like it has rabit ears, but they're not consistant between the close examination and the cell view. I think the graphics change between the cell view and the close-ups. There's something on the close-up rabbit's head, where we would see ears otherwise, but it's the wrong color.
I suppose a camera hack would be handy for this game, especially to examine these things... I might ask around to see if it's possible to force the game to change the camera angles.
The ears seem to me to be absolutely consistent between the two views. I wish I had figured out how to add pointer-arrows to make sure that people are seeing the dark ear. One ear has two bright white outlines. The dark ear is just a tiny bit to the left side of the screen from the bright ear. Both ears together form a V (their bases are together at the top of the head).
Kinda fence-sitting on this one.. If it /is/ a rabbit that's hanging, then it probably does represent Sir Peter. Also, Peter can be connected to Mr. Hoffman. Does that tell you anything?
I've been presenting evidence, on my blog, that might support the idea that Mr. Hoffman never made it out of the orphanage alive. If that is correct, then the hanging of Sir Peter might signify the hanging of Mr. Hoffman. Perhaps Mr. Hoffman was executed by the orphans as punishment for his sexual abuse (and/or for performing an abortion on Clara, if he did so).
I'll present a video about the Mr. Hoffman / Sir Peter connection later (and videos about the other ideas alluded to as well).
In the extra chapter, Jennifer remembers that Mr. Hoffman disappeared one day, then Martha and Clara also disappeared. I always thought he ran away from the orphanage.
I'm trying to make a connection to Sir Peter and Mr. Hoffman, but all I can think of is the cute rhyme about Peter Cotton-tail, but that came out after the game is set.
I was curious why Sir Peter was the first quest and he lead you to a tied up Mr. Hoffman boss.
Well, I see rope with Hoffman and obviously rope on Clara.
The insight to connect Hoffman with Sir Peter originated with a comment-maker--on my blog--by the name of RozenMaiden. I sum up and expand on her insights in 3 blog-posts: (1) "Sir Peter" Storybook: The Story of Hoffman? (Part 1) Nov. 24, 2008; (2) Clara and Hoffman: Mermaid and Hare? Nov 25, 2008; (3) "Sir Peter" Storybook: The Story of Hoffman? (Part 2) Nov. 26, 2008.

It has rabbit ears, however, it appears that maybe one of them was actually ripped off.

Isn't that the "Stray Dog and the lying Princess" chapter, at the beginning?

Very good! You got it right!

Does it really have ears? *watches* IS THAT THE SIR PETER CHAPTER?! It has to be ears then.
Didn't we already figure out that those dolls were a representation of the Sir Peter hanging before though?

Besides the fact that both are shown hanging, that is.

Is Sir Peter the rabbit that Wendy was caring for and if so did she or did they meaning the children at the orphanage really hang him?

Can Jennifer see the hanged doll in the present? Or would that have been impossible? Jennifer can still see the hanged doll in the past~ No? O_O;;

A camera hack would be wonderful.

The V of the ears isn't facing us however. It is facing the edge of the table (to the right of the screen in the case of the close-up).

The rabbit having one ear would kinda relate to peter having one horn
Aprilmoon 2 years ago
It might, but I think I see two ears not one.

Yes, Jennifer always uses the vague word "disappeared" about them. She avoids being specific about just how that disappearance came about.
