93 or 94? This movie came out the summer of 81, was one of the best movies on base, and even though much of what was depicted was still strange to most of us we sort of had an idea of how important music is to the troops.
To me, all of the fizz has been missing from the music, pop or non pop for a long time. Glory and merit badges soon fade, and return to civilian life was not so glamorous for many veterans. This movie helped many to keep strong, and to keep from getting weak. Chicago
It's sad to think what Tony's eventual fate was. Dead with a spike in his arm or dead with a bullet in his head. But Pete was a BEAST! Kinda reminded me of Frank White,lol!
Who else saw this on TBS back in 93 or 94? I did about 18 years ago when i was 12 with Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Rock and Rule and Robot Carnival and those blew me away thanks to my city's TV guide to see what will play on TBS. I made myself uncut copies of VHD, Robot Carnival and Rock and Rule from rental videos and taped them on second VCR that we had, i bought HM when i was 15 and this movie when i was 17 when it finally hit video.
@akatsukiconcubine You're not alone! As much as I love Pat, there are far better songs of hers than Love is a Battlefield. BTW, the ablum Hell is for Children is off, Crimes of Passion, is her best album IMO.
Tony was messed up big time. And i guess he didn't want to take his son down with him. Wonder if he ever lived? But the ending was classic. Atleast one of them made it in the music business. Had to take over the family business to get going.
I remember watching it at the theater when I was 16....Now my daughter has seen it multiple times since she was about 7 when I bought it on DVD. Now she's 16 and still loves the movie.
which punk rock song is that at the end of this scene?

Is Little Pete the son of Tony and the diner waitress from that one night stand?
mikeeG77 1 year ago
@mikeeG77 It's supposed. They don't know.
We just have to assume it. But Tony feels responsible for him, so he becomes the father figure.
