hahahahahahaha an ppl say you cant kill a 200+ lbs boar with a .45 acp looks to me like you knocked there dicks in the dirt ha good shooting i see you have shot placment down pat
@Scrap5000 the pigs here are alot more shy than in the states it seems. i don't get to hunt on land but really enjoy seeing and hearing about hunts. when i get to shoot a big grouper i'll send u the vid :D hahaha
@trinifishstix Sweeet, def do that! By the way, I watched an ESPN Outdoor episode once, where they traveled to Trinidad, and met up with a lobster fishing legend...he free dove & used some kind of a white, maybe fiberglass stick, to somehow yank spiny lobsters out of their holes with one quick pull...
It was incredible, and the stick didn't have any kind of a hook as far as I could tell...do you have any idea what kind of a stick he was using?
@Scrap5000 most of the locals use a shortened gaff to hook the lobsters by the abdomen and then pull them in. other than that i'd guess the stick had a loop on it, just slip it over the tail and tug towards urself i guess. i find the gaff quiet easy to use. if the lobster is alone in a hole u can just grab it fast.
@trinifishstix that's the crazy thing, no gaff, and no loop, strictly a stick, and the lobster would come off once he stopped pulling back. Almost as if it had the fabric side of velcro attached to it, so that it would hook on to all of the tiny spines. Stick it in, make contact with the carapice, and yank out fast & it would be stuck to the stick. Amazing, been dying to find out what it was made of.
Awesome video, Scrap. That last bit made me extremely hungry... I think I'll thaw some ribs tonight. About getting charged: Once a hunter has been SCARED while hunting pigs, he's been bitten by the bug. Deer hunting is no longer as interesting and he is forevermore a pig hunter at the core. I want to see some more vids, man.
@GriffGruff78 Omg, your words are so true, brother, so true. I wish i had these glasses years ago; so many great hunts I could have posted up. I will do so as soon as I can...I'm figuring the next time I go to the range will be what I put up next...
@hillbillydlux13 Thanks man! It was such an awesome time, can't wait to go back. This was my second time there, &I got charged HARD my first time, wish I could have filmed that, but I didn't have a camera. Dropped it with the last round in my lever-action, and said next time I will be more prepared & so brought the AR & the pistol.
And then this time I was charged again, right after the second part of the video, but of course had turned the camera off by then. Always turns out like that!
@Scrap5000 Haha, lever action; .30-.30? I bet that was such an adrenaline rush, I thought that first hog was going to charge you. That would have been a hit one Youtube, being charged and dropping it with your final round...Are you wearing some sort of camera around your head? I didn't read the description the first time I watched it and I thought you shot the bastard from the hip with one arm!
@hillbillydlux13 Yep, .30-30 with a 3x9...60 yards, I hit it but he didn't go down (tough fuckers!), started running away and I missed w/ 2nd round, he turned & started charging me at full speed all snarling & snapping, I missed with the 3rd round, hit him in the lower jaw with the 4th at 30 yards which stopped him & he turned broadside, and I dropped him with the final 5th round.
Not an easy target at full speed!
Exciting as hell, deer hunting was never the same after that! LOL
@hillbillydlux13 And yeah, I'm wearing a set of "i-KAM Extreme Video Glasses"...they are pretty cool & work pretty well. The video quality is much better than you see here; YouTube decreases the quality.
Some drawbacks are that they don't have external batteries, so when they are dead you need an outlet to recharge them, and for me they film very low at close range; I have to remember to tilt them down a lot. Other faces will be diff, of course.
good hunt..good eats

I really enjoyed your video, so many hunters say that the .45acp will not do the job on a pig. really like the video.

Thanks for the vid! How do hogs taste? Like pork? Or do they have a gamey taste to it?
justmedriving 4 months ago
@justmedriving they can be all over the spectrum...a little gamey, VERY gamey, or not at all...bigger boars are the gamiest...

Badass man, that is one hell of a guide. I don't blame you for walking up with a .45 drawn. I'm from Texas and those boars are mean!
