  • Monica's version is better, 'cause this chick has the voice of a goat :)

  • I was named for this song!

  • DELTA DAWNNNNN :)

  • Well, I came here because I typed "Delta Dawn Tanya..."

  • Stone Cold

  • Hellen Reddy had this song out too..I remember - that's all I would hear. I guess i wasn't tuned into Country radio back then.. although Reddy did a nice job, Tanya's version is far better.

  • Wow, she really had a hard vibrato when she was younger...love Tanya's style

  • I love this song!!! one of the reason i started listening to country music!! cuz i was country when country wasnt cool oh wait that was Mrs

    . Barbra!! love her too!!

  • Love the song and the outfit!

  • for 14 when this video was taken she had an amazing voice despite the vibrato

  • Monica didn't bring me here, my amazing parents had me listening to this since I could remember. this is a dang good song, thats why I will keep coming here.

  • Stone Cold Steve Austin singing to The Rock lol!! :D

  • hahaha lol all listen this song for monica hahahhahaha :DDD

  • I listened to this song when I was very young and I liked it. I still like it though now it is like a mirror of my life, I am almost 41 and people think I am insane because I met such a man when I was 17, believing in a dream for years. Now I understood that I was dreaming in vain but maybe it is too late. I like the sound and the words that speak the truth. I always liked such songs, they live in my heart and truthful songs will always be liked by others too.

  • This song has been stuck in my head for over 30 years. And I am okay with that.

  • omg, monica brought me to this song as well

  • others have recorded this song, but nobody can do it this way,Tanya's version is much better.

  • I WILL ALWAYS LOVE TANYA, DON'T REALLY LIKE TANYAVILLE, HER KIDS REALLY SUCK

  • We need music like this now-a-days. I'm 18 and I can't listen to most of the new music today, even the country.

  • I am 14 years old. Yes I listen to today's music. But my mum has been singing this to me since I was very little and I have always loved this song and always known the lyrics off my heart <3 See Kids these days can know what real music is. <3 Love this song so much.

  • @RockRocky09 How dare you. She was taught by the finest goats in all of America.

  • @sithcow I was afraid of that :(

  • best song ever

  • I worked at Opryland Themepark when Tanya did the summer concert and got to talk to her. I was heading back to our shed that was behind the theatre and she was rehearsing. After she finnished a song she stopped long enough to ask how I was doing. I'll never forget that.

  • My great grandmother has one of the late stages of alihizimers, she responds to next to nothing now, but she responded to this song yesterday. its her favorite.

  • Ya my grandmother actually had a girl in er girl scout truup named Tanya Tucker in ...1940s.

  • Hee haw

  • Tanya Tucker has been a has been for 20 years........... i love this song but she's definitely not at the top of her craft LOL

  • Yeah! is true!!! xD the song of Monica!!!! ahahahahah

  • yes brings tears to my eyes was always my favorite back in the day

  • I always liked Tanya Tucker, but I remember the constant AirPlay this got when I was 14. I got so tired of it. Now it almost brings a tear to my eye as it takes me back... My love to you Tanya!!!

  • not as good as monicas because her shirt is not see through;)

  • How many people under 55 can say they've been at the top of craft and a household name for 40 years?

  • Monika from friends version sounds better!!! :)))

  • I don't want any thumbs up, but Stone Cold Steve Austin send me here LOL.

  • @spinner2722 even if she did sound like that shes a 14 year old girl with one of the most powerful voices of any woman. she accomplished more in 14 years than you and i will accomplish in our whole lives.

  • Is it the audio or does she really sound like a sheep?

  • She was a girl but sounded like of a woman.

  • I grew up listening to Tanya Tucker, she was one of my dad's favorite singers. :)

  • damn what a voice she has.

  • Hardly ever missed an episode of Hee Haw! This is classic~ thanx for the upload! ;)

  • @Strutingeagle lol i wasnt born till 13 years after she sang this song

  • I can hear myself belting out this song as a kid!

  • This was a favorite of mine as a little girl. I thought it was so sad that such an OLD lady was still looking for that mysterious dark-haired man. Well, today's my 41st birthday, and my stepfather still calls me "Baby" now and then. I found my man, though, and life is good. So glad to still have this gorgeous song around to share with my own little girl.

  • What a foolish young boy I was in the mid 70's. I loved Tanya Tucker. I dreamed so often about meeting her and even marrying her. Her music helped me through some rough patches. My Momma and Daddy were constantly yelling and fighting and then they finally broke off their marriage around the time this song came out. It was this and and the other songs of Tanya Tucker that lifted me out of a really bad place.

  • @kellyrmefford1 "billy-goat vibrato",......I hurt myself laughing at that, but your critique is spot on! I had no idea Ms. Tucker was so young. I found myself here to settle a bet that I lost, at least partially. Helen Reddy charted higher but Tanya performed it before Reddy, however neither wrote it.

  • is she was 14 here, she had an amazing voice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sucha grown voice

  • mom my loved this song ... after her funreal i stayed at my gmas for a few weeks to help make arangements and such and me my family was sitting around sing and playing this on 4 my mom

  • I have to admit I do like Tanya Tucker...inspite of that horrid billy-goat vibrato that she has in Delta Dawn. Everybody knows Delta Dawn...

  • OMG I Think i actually watched this on Hee Haw! I must have been a very young girl then!!!

  • love it

  • you can be 5-50 if you like a song it doesnt matter how old you are.

  • MONICA GILER from FRIENDS brought me her

  • @0moooaaath0 SAME!

  • i'm 14 years old & this song is and always will be one of my favourite songs <3 I grew up with it :')

  • When I was Gruene, TX she came to Gruene Hall.

My 3 year old brother was running around and she came off of her bus,

he yells "Hi!" while waving and she just smiled and waved back.

    It was cute lol

Then we sat outside of the Hall and listened to her.

When she sang this song, my whole family was singing it with her. :)

  • I use to sing this when I was little.. :)

  • I love this song. What ever happened to Tanya Tucker?

  • Anybody wanted to hear this after seeing friends ?

  • @ItsRG4M3R just watched that episode and looked for this video!lol...

  • me

  • i did

  • @ItsRG4M3R

    Me too!

  • She'll always be awesome !!

  • I remember listening to her with my grandmother, I still like to every once in a while. Memories!

  • Way before my time but I grew up hearing this song a lot in the house. It's amazing in how young she was to have sang like an older person.

  • @TheRockchick1981 I read that her oldest daughter has a great voice too.

  • WOW!!!

  • i love to hear sing i love this song

  • she looks good!!!!!!! is she still alive today????

  • @85forddiesel Yeah she's still alive.

  • @85forddiesel

  • i thinkk delta is one of the most beautiful names a girl can have

  • Oh man, the pretty dress, panty hose, nice shoes, I can remember watching this when I was 9.

  • monica geller ( cortny cox) on friens sings this way better plus her voice is alfewl ant she dosent look 14 she look 34

  • A few years ago I saw George Jones perform at the Ryman and Tanya Tucker came out and did a few lines from this song. It's not very often in this life that you get a treat like that.

  • Monica Geller brought me here! Friends forever!

  • When I go out to karaoke I always start out with this song. I don't care for her angora sheep sound either when she carries her note and I thank god I don't do that.... ick. She did get better about that and is an amazing singer and artist. Everytime I sing Delta Dawn the whole place always joins in.

  • @loraleelalee You sing her song but don't care for her sound? Ick, you aren't the won who sold records!

  • i though she was 15 in 1973 since she was born in 1958

  • @monzo49 Maybe shot before her birthday.

  • i'm 20 old and i'm sure that i'll name my first daughter Delta DAwn =)

  • she sounds like a billy goat

  • I was 16 and Tanya was 14 when i saw her at the Ryman.

  • I saw her in the Ryman Auditorum in1974, she was HOT!

  • @Ferrum2004 I hope your the same age as her...lol

  • What a great voice she has

  • this song was played at my cousins funeral

  • @BrenK41 at least this rendition of the song is better than helen ready's is

  • a vibrator in her throat used handily... gone by-by-by-by....!

  • @mohawk548 It's called Vibrato

  • Glen Campbell was checking her oil before she got her front teeth gap fixed.

  • Why do they let you make a playlist then tell you you can not play some of the songs ( this is one) on that playlist?

  • Wow, she really had a big voice for 13/14.

  • from days got baaaaah..yup

  • @BrenK41 lmao!!

  • Young female country singers today could learn alot form a real star with a voice all her own. Tanya Tucker....

  • good song to get drunk to

  • @monsterbronco3 good song to belt out WHEN your drunk lol you put your heart and soul into it more then

  • wonderful one of the best singers ever Tandy Tucker thank God for U...

  • her teeth just make this video..

  • Tanya Tucker was a BABY when she sang this...and no one did it better. It's so sweet to watch this video - on first glance she looks mature, but then you see the awkward "tweener" there, just trying to fake it. Love this song and love Tanya singing it!

  • Goat singer

  • Helen Reddy. Tanya looks like she is just going through the motions. I prefer MacLean and MacLean's version over this one. Look it up. lmao

  • Comment removed

  • monica sang it much better..than this fella

  • @BrenK41 You son of a bitch, this used to be my favorite song. Now all I can hear is a goat.

  • Great song! I've loved it since I was a kid.

    Thanks Tanya Tucker!

  • I've been a fan of hers all along.I was a child when this song was released but her voice just captivated me.

  • This cacophony cannot even begin to light a candle to the musically much more sophisticated Helen Reddy version. And, by the way, which artist took this song all the way to the top of the chart? Hint-it wasn't Tanya Tucker!

  • @pevpittmd --I might have accidently ran over Helen Reddy with my Kia today but im not positive because I didnt check.

  • i like helen reddy's version better

  • 4uckin a rght ,boy

  • Thunbs up if you HATE people that leave "Thumbs up" replies

  • @shutdafup lol, hypocrite

  • @BrenK41 it's called Vibrato, it's a singing Technique, and it made a lot of people very famous back then.

  • wow, she was so young

  • does it get any better? I remember as a kid hearing songs like this and feeling the warmth of good family and friends who were considered family. Something that's fading fast. Now you have to MAKE a choice to love. awesome country music era.

  • What's Monica Geller got to do with it?

  • @acebodine She sang it once in an episode of FRIENDS :)

  • I wonder if Glen Campbell was one of those guitar players, that perv.

  • that's some crazy vibrato...almost excessive...

  • One of the first country songs I remember from my childhood.

  • @craig9843 me too! my mom used to sing it to me all the time. well this, ode to billie joe and harper valley pta.

  • @BrenK41 I don't remember her ever sounding this way. I think it could just be that the recording is very old.

  • Marvelous.

  • Monica Geller is hot.

  • @BrenK41 lol
