I'm Mevlana Sufi also Christian.I read that when Islam reached Asia or South Asia it borrowed ideas from Hinduism , Bhuddism and it applyed those ideas to One God,Or Allah. It should not matter if i am also Christian either, Rumi says ''When you witness my Semazans,If you are Jewish Moses is among them,If you are Christian , Christ is also among them. If you are Muslim , Muhammad He is also among them.''

Universal Sufis believe that Sufism predates Islam as an expression of middle eastern and egyptian mysticism and they have as much right as any other religion to be named whatever they wish.
