AOL used to be good b4 carphone warehouse took over. Now since I use P2P software they cap my speed to 512kbps im telling you it is soo slow. People that thing it's 8MB speed it isnt it's 8Mbps. every internet provider says meg but the dont mean megabyte they mean megabit. 8mMps is 1MBps. It makes sense as 1MBps is really fast. Virgin media prvides 2.5MBps.

So anyway I dunno what they're doing. at 7 am it was at normal speed but now it's at 512kbps.

AOL is the biggest waste of money known to man. Technical support have absolutely no clue and even try to say that less than 100kbps is acceptable for an up to 8mbps service. Hell it took nearly 6 minutes just to be able to watch this video. Broadband my arse! I don't think I have had over 1meg for 6 months and apparently that is acceptable. Usually my speed averages 200kbps on a good day sometimes up to 500 if I am lucky. (usually download between 3-40 kb/s).

I used to have AOL a few years back. It was total shit. I really didn't know just how bad it was until I switched to SBC.

At SBC I was able to get DSL for 5 bucks a month cheaper than what I was paying to have DIALUP on AOL.

my connection is infinitely more stable now

the customer service of AOL was a fucking nightmare. Additionally, the insane flood of spam email and spam IMs were non stop. I've never once had to deal with any of that bullshit in the three years that I have now had SBC

AOL gives terrible internet. Once I had AOL and......we were so frustrated. We get kicked off everytime, the speed is so slow and it burnt my money away. Please, tell people don't use AOL and make them bankrupt. Optimum rules! AOL drools! Spread the word. AOL=Annoying/Ad ware on line company

I have had similar issues with my cable. Usually it's because my router or cable box needs to be reset.

This isnt ur spead you realize this is only the activity going through at the time of recording. you are recording your firewall software that is called sunbelt personal firewall. if you want to test ur speed search online for "broardband speed test"

believe me i know i use that firewall. It is the speed going through at the time you are recording not your internet speed. Sometimes i have 0KB/s showing on the firewall - that is because i am not downloading anything at that time. Use something like speedtest(dot)net as that will give you an almost perfect representation of your speed.

Actually any animal could have a faster connection than any internet connection known to man. Hand some random guy an external hard drive that holds a terabyte of information, have him walk across the street and plug the hard drive in to a computer there. Boom, internet loses, you win.
