lou monte was played in my house all the time growing up along with al martino,frank sinatra and dean martin and connie francis,in the 60's and 70;s it made you feel proud to be italian!!!

I laugh everytime I hear this song...When I was growing up in my Italian/American home; my Dad would play these albums and we loved them. I grew up on Lou Monte, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Louie Prima and so many more. When I was learning about History in School, I played this song as a part of my report on Columbus, It was funny because I was the only one who got it and I was totally confused why this song never made the history books. Oh the memories of early education in the 60's.
