There Mr. FlipFlop goes again. I found in the book “Can Mitt Romney Serve Two Masters?”
The Washington Times, August 2007:
“As governor, Mr. Romney wielded control over a significant budget and oversaw three cities that were proud of their designation as ‘sanctuary cities:’ Cambridge, Somerville and Orleans. Yet as governor, Mr. Romney did not cut their funding. He recommended millions of dollars in state funding of them and made no attempt to force these cities to change their policies.”
Malkin discussing her position "anchor babies" and illegal immigrants with Romney who's Grandfather was a illegal alien and who's father was born in Mexico and Anchor Baby Michelle Malkin was born October 20, 1970 in Philadelphia soon after her Filipino parents, Rafaela and Dr. Apolo Maglalang, arrived the United States on student visas. What hypocritical assholes these two are.
An Anchor Baby is a child born in America to parents who have no legal right to be here. By your own words, you have exempted Ms. Malkin from that definition. Her parents were here legally. She is not an Anchor Baby.
My grandparents are from Mexico. They came here the right way. I am totally against a Illegal way of coming to America. Come on... the word says it all..."ILLEGAL"
Thank you. You are a GREAT American. I'm in favor of increasing and streamlining (making it Easier & Quicker)the LEGAL migration system. We want MORE people like you and your family. People who are prepared to follow the rules and Obey the LAW.
I'm happy to have people from any Country AS LONG AS THEY COME HERE LEGALLY.
It's rather amusing that Michelle Malkin's parents were immigrants, yet she is anti-immigration. These two people are some of the worst people in mainstream politics.
consbro---many many LEGAL immigrants are opposed to ILLEGAL immigrants. They are opposed to the idea that they got in line and did everything right and others can just "cut in line" and break the law. Nothing contradictary about Michelle's position at all.
She is NOT against Immigration consbro, she is against ILLEGAL Immigration. People who break the law to come here. She wrote that she also is in favor of increasing LEGAL migration to the US.
When will you Liberal Idiots learn the Difference! WAKE UP!
You can say it's wrong but you can show evidence. If you'll review the internal documentation which has been released as well as various non-governmental reports, studies, and declarations. You'll find the discussion is not about homosexuals or immigration, at least not as it's presented in the media. The discussion virtually always hinges on the economic agenda--breaking down trade barriers, privatization, and in the case of Iraq...oil.
Try libertarian socialist. And no I do not support Ron Paul, although I don't hate him. All politics is about economics. Government and Corporate personell come from the same ivy league schools, districts, etc. The CEO's and various other corporate executives and their respective lobby's are virtually interchangeable with governmental agents. They are working for the same goal--neo-liberal globalization. All else boils down to dramatic theatre. But you don't want to hear that...
Ending "Chain migration" Hmmm. Depends on what we got first. If the 1st immigrant is a good productive citizen and ASSIMMILATES it make a good argument for it providing those sponsered become self supporting. The sponsor must be ACCONTABLE for those they sponsor to pervent them from being a burden on society.
I read primary sources on political philosophy. Politics is not about abortion or gay rights. That's a tool to get the irrational masses to vote based on their prejudices rather than their rational self-interest. Divide and conquer. Conservatism and liberalism have their roots in classical liberalism, which asserts as its major thesis the limiting of state actions. State intervention in private life is a violation of individual liberty which the Founders considered paramount.
To be socially conservative is a personal matter. So sure you're a social conservative, maybe Mitt isn't. He's still a far right republican, because his economic policies (the only ones that matter) are perfectly congruent with the party. Maybe I'm ignorant, or maybe I'm just talking over your head. Wake up and smell the coffee, the economy is the only thing that has ever mattered. Everything else is just a strategy to dominate the economy and deceive the stupid majority.
Those aren't conservative issues. They are fundamentalist issues, not conservative. American conservative policies hinge on economic concerns, in fact all political ideology hinges on the economy. Mitt is a republican in that he favors big budget military spending and nationalistc zealotry. Liberals favor (or used to) favor reduced military spending and increased social spending. You're just a talking head addict.
Demian, are you joking? It was the Liberals/Democrats who got us into Vietnam & Korea. Eisenhower & Nixon (Republicans) ended those wars. Republicans, before the 1990s, were traditionally anti-war.
I'm well aware of the history of vietnam and korea. I wasn't talking about war. I was talking about the economic motives that underlie all of U.S. policy both domestic and foreign. And it doesn't surprise me a bit that liberals would engage in a brutal and imperial war. When they aren't at war they're waging war by other means--i.e. enacting various exploitative trade legislations, etc. Wake up and smell the roses. Government is the shadow cast on society by Big Business.
I'm not a liberal. And neither is Romney. From what I can discern he is coddling ideas from both the Mormons and the Scientologists. What a nutcase, right? Your argument would be stronger if you were to say, "Romney isn't a true conservative, he's a moderate..." And then show your evidence. Of course you'd be wrong, but whatever, at least your logic would look better.
No he doesn't. I do. What he supports is xenophobic labor laws, which are only surface salves for the real crises in the American Labor market. The problem isn't immigrants. It's people like Romney and the Rich Croney's he represents. Immigration is an easy divisive tool to get the votes of people who are peeved at their neighbor. It has nothing to do with the real issues. WAKE UP!
Period in the white house is the other option. XX chromosomes would be new and would bring the experience of the husband back to the white house but this time with an expectations that the first man would support the president in a way that would show a new role. Yes the vice president job is open to Mitt but lots of others are signing up for that job.
Sure. If you have no concern for the truth, no moral compass, are selfish, self-centered, and downright greedy. If you don't bother to understand the complexity of the world, but only vote based on your reactionary impulses. Then sure. Why not vote for Romney. He's a liar but so are you. Two Peas in a Pod.
This man was a morman..or is..Would you even give a Thought to a Man who even thought of being a moron..I mean morman..I am far from prejudice, howeever, As far as religons go..It is weaker than most, and that is a Bold statement
Just finished a book on Romney. He really is the smartest, most capable, integrity-based of the entire lot in either party. I suggest all you bloggers quit screaming and get the facts. The pres is the chief executive of the largest enterprise in the world.. we need a capable, proven leader. As for the "mormon" complaints.. get over it, all faiths involves beliefs in the miraculous.. be it the virgin mary, water to wine, or the "gold plates".
Who wrote the book? Mormons are lunatics just like every other faith. It's all a bunch of bad cosmology based on completely irrational principles..be it the virgin mary, water to wine, or the gold plates. It's all a bunch of nonsense. Unfortunately, Ideas have consequences, such as terrorism and war. But Romney's not religious. He's a snake-oil salesman. He is, however, a fan of L. Ron Hubbard's books which absolutely terrifies me.
"Turnaround" by W.M. Romney, and "A Mormon in the White House" by Hugh Hewitt. Mormons are not lunatics; check your facts and don't be suckered by "facts" out of context. Go meet a few Mormons. Consider cabinet members, numerous congressmen of both parties, governors, business leaders and educators. For an interesting perspective on Mormonism, consider the Pew Forum with Bushman (pewforum dot org/events/ ?EventID=148)
All religion is delusion, but I'm not in favor of infringing on the right of belief. I am in favor of discouraging deceit and hypocrisy in social affairs. I see Mitt romney engaged in a typical PR run campaign which is based on deceiving the public about the true character of the candidate. Virtually all political campaigns are deceitful. That should be common knowledge. the mormon issue is merely a component of this.
Great Interview. Well done Michelle. Some good comments too Mitt. A Foreigner Employee Database. Damn. I can't hire anymore people for my Sweatshop to make my Ferragami shoes! Damn.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Malkin is nothing but a seething hate-filled sack o' shit hag with a mic. She's the mean old lady on the block who threatens neighbors with a shotgun and poisons the neighborhood pets. Just listen to her. It's blatant. She hates with a passion that O'reilly and Coulter together can't match. Aside from her unrelenting anger, what solid argument has she ever advanced.
