when it comes to music, i'm strictly beethoven-mozart-bach--it' like a person needs a meteoric sense of hearing to catch rap lyrics--and these lyrics are worth catching--they are profound--like the entire text of Pilgrim's Progress condensed and put to music--i can identify completely--the firm resolve--the pathetic slip & fall--the flounder--the despair and shame--its a hard word sometimes--the price is paid, but there's no free ride, if you get my meaning--God grant a strong finish to us all
I love all (well, most) brands of music. Brindle's lyrics are all profound even for those who don't like this style. His albums are essentially sermons put to a beat instead of songs to be enjoyed (that's just a bonus) :)
I've always related this song to Pilgrim's Progress, too. It's a clear parallel.
