i sooo agree!!! like at some bars like "Philadelphia" if you walk at a bar everyone looks you up and down. and you'll see all these looks even some bar tenders look at you and treat you in a bad way if you "didn't fit in" and treat you good if you actually fit. never happened to me but some friends of mine actually do that. sad sad sad....

You bring up a great issue. Not only is the gay community putting down some of their own for being different, I'm noticing a lot of racist gays. I'm not sure if it's an issue with oppression, that certain parties feel they have to put down others or not? But making fun of the overweight seems to be one of the last forms of accepted discrimination. That needs to change.

About body fascism, that's not to do with being gay, that's to do with being male. Males are more visually oriented in finding a partner than women, so they will demand more slim and defined bodies: it's why hetero women feel pressured by unrealistic standards.
Contrast lesbians, who are fatter than average: their female partners are more likely to accept them for who they are. It's also why you will see more fat hetero men than gay men. Summary: body anxiety is the price to pay for man-love.

i agree its true, i did a test how other gay guys treat you based on how you look...one time i went to a gay bar and i just dress up so simple with t-shirt and a cargo pants and summer sandals, so after few hours i was there it was like 12 a.m. untill 4 a.m. in the bar, i notice few gay guys were looking at me from head to foot... and the other week i dress very well and it change the way they treat you.. they talk to me, but decided to transfer another gay bar..
